I have created a menu structure based on product categories for our main navigation. It starts with a “our products” heading (it’s not a real link cause I want to force at least one level of filtering, so the “our products” menu choice is a link item with “#” as the link). Below that there is a “men” category, with “outerwear”, “fleece”, “shoes” sub-categories below that. When you click the “men” menu choice, you correctly see all products in the “men” product category. I also like having the sub-category filter tabs at the top of this showing, so if you next choose the “outerwear” category filter tab, the display correctly shows only the men’s outerwear product. At the bottom of the page there are page navigation links – “1, 2, 3” with the navigation arrows for forward and back on either side. All still good. If you click any of those page #’s, you see the next grouping of 12 products in Men.
But here’s where it goes wrong – if you select a sub-category filter tab to view just that grouping, the page # links are still below, but if you next click any of them you see nothing. It appears that the category filter tabs are only filtering what is on that page? Clicking through any of the other sub-category filter tabs also results in nothing. You have to go back to the “all” filter and start over to re-filter.
Long winded description, I know – sorry. Follow? The site is still in testing, so would rather not post a link here, but it is the same I emailed you the other day, to see what i mean.
Thanks in advance!
