Product Thumbnails lost their text

Hi, All of my product thumbnails were displaying text underneath them and now they just display 1 of 5, for example. I need the text to describe the colors, as it is much easier than having to put the text onto each pic in Photoshop. Is there a way to get the text back? It was displaying the titles that I put in when I uploaded the pics. Hope this makes sense!
