Remove grey background from custom menu footer widget

How can I remove the grey background from the custom menu footer widgets, Col 2 & 3? It’s the grey that is around category/subcategory words.
And possibly want to make the font size a little smaller on the category list in custom menu footer widget (not the widget title).
