Row block left/right margins

Hi. I am stuck with adding left/right margins to a row block. This is what I try to accomplish – please also see attachment:
1. Full width image with a left/right margin so there is a distance between the edges of the browser and the image
2. Image should have an overlay
3. On top of the image and the overlay, I would like to have some text element positioned e.g. at the bottom left corner
I am able to accomplish no. 2 and no. 3 but I cannot figure out how to add a left/right margin. My last resort would be to work with some custom CSS code … However, I really hope that I have overlooked something here because I think, that margins for a row block are an essential feature.
