Slider showing on page with no slider

I’m working on a client’s site that has a page using the Feature Template. Under Feature Page Options, the Feature Options dropdown is set to “Image Slider – (Cropped Image Ratio),” but there is no gallery in the Slider Images/Add/Edit Gallery section. Also no other types of sliders are selected on that page.
However, on the live site, a slider shows at the top of this page. When I clone the page, the cloned page has no slider at the top, even though the settings and content are identical.
Also, i have created a clone of the entire live site, and the “phantom” slider does not appear on it.
I want to understand what is going on here in case there is a configuration issue that could cause more problems down the road.
