Styling question and an error

Hi Ben, Hannah & team!
I am currently using the Ascend Base Theme on my site *Login to see link and have some questions:
1. How do I remove the gray line on top of the contact form? Already tried related classes (textwidget kad-spacer clearfix) but it does not work. I tried removing the height, changing the color and setting display:none (all with !important).
2. How can I add an overlay to the first image that covers it completely? I currently edited the image to make it darker but would prefer to use CSS so I can change images without having to edit them first.
3. How do I add the portfolio filter to the portfolio section? I’m using a shortcode.
4. I am getting this error when I edit the home page. It started today after I updated the theme. I also don’t get any errors in other pages. I tried duplicating the page, but the error persists.
“Request Entity Too Large The requested resource /wp-admin/post.php does not allow request data with POST requests, or the amount of data provided in the request exceeds the capacity limit.”
