Testimonial Spam

Over the last two days, I have suddenly started receiving a significant number of spam comments via my [kad_testimonal_form]. My form has a very simple math captcha which the shortcode seems to produce by default. I’ve got Askimet and WP Security installed, but neither of them seems to apply to this particular type of form. There are no pending theme/plugin updates to apply.
Is there anything that can be done to bolster the form security? I am just about ready to remove the form and replace it with something more secure, even if it means manually entering the testimonials as they come in.
