Testimonials sort order

Good evening and happy new year!
Is it possible to have the testimonials arranged in date order, preferably newest first? Mine seem to be random and I would like customers to be able to easily see their feedback once submitted and approved.
I’m using a child theme, so happy to add a function if necessary. I did find a previous thread mentioning order IDs, but I have a lot of testimonials and don’t want to open each one up to add that information. I also don’t want to use a shortcode as then I would lose the pagination and really don’t want 100+ testimonials on one page.
