Updating from 4.9.19 to 4.9.20 failure

Hello,
I am on WordPress version 5.3.2.
When updating the Theme, I would be stuck in the maintenance screen for a long time and then the update has failed leaving this error. ‘An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update again now.’. I select the ‘please attempt the update again now’ and the URL would switch to *Login to see link and then nothing after this.
Please advise.
