Using carousel short code – how to remove excerpt content

I’m using the carousel short code for blog posts on the bottom of the page at *Login to see link but we would like to have just the image and headline showing, no post content excerpt or post date stamp.
Any suggestions on how to achieve this?
In the short code, I tried adding word_count=0 but that did not change anything.
