Glossary Block and Custom Post Type

Would love to have a custom post type for Glossary entries, and a pro-block that displays Glossary headings (A, B, C, etc….) with an index to glossary entries, and the CPT with cross-references. Would love to have a global theme setting that allows Glossary to be "parsed" in the content, providing a fly-over hover box, with a click-through to nav to the glossary entry. Having this built in to the theme (being able to turn it on /off) would be awesome.
