Option to disable link when using 'above title taxonomy'

When using a post grid/carousel you added a feature under title settings that allows the admin to determine whether or not the 'title is a link to post'. Could you please add a similar option for the 'above title taxonomy' section? I recently raised a ticket asking if this was possible and your support team explained that it was set to a default link to allow users the opportunity to view similar posts/content. I explained, that whilst I appreciate the reason for having this default to a link but it would be nice to have the option to turn it off (just as you can for the titles) if required – sometimes designers prefer to funnel users to certain parts of the site and being able to control what a user can and cannot click on is fundamental to this.
