Post Grid Carousel/ Portfolio Grid Carousel

I think having the ability under these to replace the loop item with a custom element, like is available under the Query Loop (Adv) would be nice option, as this would work well when using custom fields, or having the Query loop to be a carousel layout? At present it's not possible to have both, unless I'm overlooking it.
