    I am migrating from Divi to Kadence as much more lightweight and quicker.

    However, struggling with recreating a few bits one of which is the conditional accordions I currently have on product pages that display according to the product category.

    An example at after the product images.

    Also the accordions currently use ACF field shortcodes to insert data into the text relevant to the product (eg friendly name for the product, colour group etc)

    Can anyone help?

    Cheers

    Hey Nathan,

    This is not an issue with the Kadence theme or Kadence Pro plugin. You can confirm this by installing the Kadence theme on an empty site and run a test again.

    Having excessive DOM warnings is a result of how you design a page and how you use blocks. You can prevent that by using minimal container blocks on each row.

    For example, if you use a Kadence Row Layout in a row, as much as possible, don’t add more of it inside its sections. If you can make a row by using only one Row Layout, much better. You can also use a Section block instead of Row Layout.

    However, if you have a complex design or requirement which can only be achieved using multiple container blocks within a container, the execution is up to you.

    Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Best,
    Chito

    Hey,

    Thanks for the screenshot.

    If you inspect the elements, are you seeing only one heading? Here’s how it appears on my test page: https://share.getcloudapp.com/o0uJEY4B

    Which tool are you using to check the headings? Make sure you’re not using a faulty tool.

    Let me know how I can help further.

    Hi, I have a testimonial block and the headers are being doubled. I am not sure whay is happening as in the rendered DOM the code appears 4 times, but in the page it only appears once. It’s only on the testimonial block that the issue is happening.

    #284410

    Hi there!

    Since this topic was set as resolved, please open a new topic to ensure that we’ll notice and respond to it.

    On the other hand, the original requirement for this topic is <strong>move the comment form above the blog post carousel at the end of a blog post</strong>. Currently, with the free or premium Virtue Theme, the comment form is positioned at the end of the blog post, even if the blog carousel is active – https://share.getcloudapp.com/geuP4Ado.

    Could you confirm what you want to reposition? Also, could you specify which version of the Virtue theme are you using? It would also be great if you can send us a page URL so we can see what it looks on your posts currently.

    Kind regards,
    Karla

    Hi Chito,

    Thank you for your response.

    Here is the link to the page that I mentioned – https://zenithenergy.com.au/zenith-energy-has-signed-a-renewable-energy-power-purchase-agreement-with-northern-star-resources-ltd-for-their-jundee-mining-operation-in-the-northern-goldfields-of-wa/

    I have performed the troubleshooting steps but I am still having the same issue.

    Look forward to hearing from you.

    Many thanks,

    Hi, hello again.
    I reinstalled another version of wordpress and for a few days the subpages worked. But now they don’t work again. The same thing happens every time. Installing the new version of wordpress, a few days without a problem and the subpages crash.
    According to the above, I’ve tried the following:
    1. Installing different versions of wordpress using WP Downgrade plugin | Specific Core Version.
    2. Change theme to another / reinstall theme kadence.

    I have my client’s Woocommerce store configured so the main page displays the Categories, 3 of them. When you select one, let’s say Prints, it shows the Products available. Since the images are varying shapes and sizes, some have significant whitespace (literally) around them. Is there a way via Custom CSS to change this whitespace to match the background color of the page?

    Here’s a sample of what I’m talking about. Thanks for any help you can provide!

    Hey,

    Thanks for the screenshot.

    I visited your website – https://zenithenergy.com.au/, but didn’t see the page in your screenshot.

    Can you send the link here?

    For the meantime, please perform the troubleshooting steps outlined in this article:
    https://www.kadencewp.com/blog/how-to-troubleshoot-your-website/

    Let me know how it goes.

    Our website seems to have decided that it doesn’t want to show our background images correctly, and in some cases it’s removing sections of text.

    I’ve attached some images of when happens when you scroll down in a page. When you first load the page the image is missing, and then when you scroll down it appears.

    Can anyone give me any hints or tips on how to correct this as it’s happening all over our site.

    Thank you!

    Hi mr_ribeiro,

    Are you referring to the top section on the homepage? This section is a Row Layout block. See Video: https://share.getcloudapp.com/wbuLKkRE

    You can edit the page and then change the background image of the Row Layout block under the Style settings.

    Here’s a screen recording for reference: https://share.getcloudapp.com/jkuRYK2y

    Please let us know how it goes, we’ll be more than happy to help.

    Best regards,
    Teejay.

    I would want to change the background image of just the homepage of my website (URL: ). I would appreciate your support on how to go about it. I would also appreciate some support on how to change the background images of pages.

    Hello Brendan,

    Thanks for the screenshot.

    I would appreciate it if you could share the link to that page so that I can help you check where the gaps are coming from. For the meantime, try using this custom CSS, since the Latest Posts block has no option to adjust spacing:

    ul.wp-block-latest-posts>li {
        margin-top: 10px
    }

    Add the code in Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS.

    Let us know how it goes!

    Best,
    Chito

    In reply to: accordion not opening

    #284343

    Hi, Rick!

    I’m sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

    I viewed the page and you’re right, the accordion is not opening. When I viewed the page sources, the Kadence Blocks’ CSS and JS file for the Accordion block is there. However, the correct CSS classes are not toggled when the title panes when clicked – https://share.getcloudapp.com/geuPqJBv.

    Here’s how it works on my page – https://share.getcloudapp.com/DOuK9wEj.

    If you temporarily deactivate the W3 Total Cache plugin, will the issue be fixed? If so, try to turn off some options and test the page again so you can pinpoint which optimization option is causing the layout/function issue.

    I hope this helps, and let us know how we can help you further.

    Regards,
    Karla

    Hi!

    Thanks for sending the page URL.

    When I inspected it, the video is being lazy-loaded. I saw that you’re using the Breeze plugin for optimizations. If you temporarily deactivate it, will the issue be fixed?

    If so, turn off this option and test again – https://share.getcloudapp.com/d5uDpxJb.

    I hope this helps, and let us know if we can help you further.

    In reply to: WooCommerce tweaks

    #284338

    Hi, David!

    I’m sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

    Based on the last working solution, Bonn gave you a code to include a specific function (bbloomer_add_cart_loop_js) on single product pages.

    This function is currently only included on your WooCommerce shop and single product pages. Thus, if you are adding products on a normal post/page, only the base quantity is added.

    If you also want the function to work on normal posts, you need to add the function for them too. Here’s a code snippet that you can test:

    function bbloomer_add_cart_loop_js() {
       wc_enqueue_js( "
           $(document).on('change','.quantity .qty',function(){
              $(this).closest('li.product').find('a.ajax_add_to_cart').attr('data-quantity',$(this).val());
           });
       " );
    }

    add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'bbloomer_add_cart_loop_js' );

    I hope this helps you further with your code customizations. If you require further customizations, I recommend hiring a developer that can help you implement and update the codes.

    Otherwise, let us know if we can help you further.

    Kind regards,
    Karla

    Hi there,

    I am trying to create a one-page overview of my latest posts by category. I have so far succeeded by inserting the “latest posts” block into columns and choosing the category to display.

    However, the issue I am facing is that the padding between each line/row is very large. How do I adjust this and make it smaller? There is currently too much of a space between each line item / post.

    I have attached an image to show what it currently looks like. I want to remove the spacing between each line item/post. How do I do this?

    #284324

    Hello again,

    I’ve tweaked the snippet and devided it into backend and frontend.
    And changed to your suggestion “woocommerce_product_meta_start”.
    Now it works great in a new Shop Kit single product page in the “Product: Meta” area.

    Custom-SKU-3

    Please if you see anything that should be cleaned up or modified please let me know.

    Snippet for backend.

    And the snippet for frontend.

    Thanks 🙂

    Hi, David!

    Yes, there is no hover state option for the Advanced Text block settings.

    If you have access to the Kadence Blocks Pro add-on, you’ll have the Image Overlay block. This can help you with your layout requirement. Here’s the link to the block’s demo page – https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-blocks/pro/image-overlay/.

    On the other hand, if you have the free version, you’ll need to use custom CSS code. You can add this to the Section block’s Advanced tab > Custom CSS option:

    selector .wp-block-kadence-advancedheading {
     opacity: 0;
     transition: 0.5s;
    }

    selector:hover .wp-block-kadence-advancedheading {
     opacity: 1;
    }

    Here’s a screen recording of how it worked on my website – https://share.getcloudapp.com/RBuJOlDP.

    I hope this helps. Let us know if we can assist you further.

    Regards,
    Karla

    Hi there!

    Could you specify what video are you using? Is it YouTube or a video uploaded to your website?

    There are a few possible reasons why your videos are not playing in mobile views. It could be due to a slow internet connection, unsupported video formats, or browser issues.

    It would be great if you can give us your page URL so we can inspect and see the issue. If you do not want to share the URL publicly, check the “Set as private reply” option before you submit your reply to this topic.

    Please let us know how we can help.

    Kind regards,
    Karla
