Hi there,

my problem is, that the page is not building up. It is loading, but doesn’t show anything. I already emptied the cache and deactivated the all plugins. By activating them one by one I discovered that the Kadence Blocks Plugin is causing the problems.
What can I do to solve this?

Hi Will,
Apologies for the delay! You can create and enable the secondary navigation bar from Appearance > Menus. The text underneath is the menu item description which you may need to enable from the Screen Options tab on the top right of the screen.

Then from Theme Options > Shop Settings you can enable “Show Category Filter on Category Pages”.

The categories listed inside the shop page or any WooCommerce archive page aren’t included in the “Product Catalog Loop Item” template. However, you can add a feature request on this page to request a template feature for that – https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-shopkit/feature-requests/.

However, please note that we cannot give an estimated date for when this will be added.

Can you also share what you have done as a fix? As this produced the new issue: “Instead, what happened was that every hooked elements being applied to category pages broke entirely.”

Are you able to create a staging website for this where we can have admin access to so that we can investigate the issue while it is active on the website without affecting your live site?

You could also give us temporary admin access to the staging website and give us permission to make changes to your website, so we can investigate. You can use this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/ and send us the login link as a PRIVATE reply here.
 
The access should be temporary, and we’ll only use it for debugging. Once the issue is resolved, you can deactivate the plugin to ensure that we can no longer log in to your website.

I have two carousel items on a site homepage. One is for latest blog posts “News” and the other is testimonials.
They are both showing the text “Your name Your email Subject Your message (optional)” on the carousel preview which I can not see how to prevent.

Is there an easy way to prevent this showing without manually writing excerpts. I inspected the elements with a browser and it seems to be just straight text, so I can’t just hide that bit with some CSS. I expect the Virtue Theme is generating these excerpts. So what’s the solution.

I managed to get this working with the core Query Loop block (for taxonomies) + Reusable Block (for design) inside.
Attached a screenshot of my structure.

It was not working previously and used to crash. This bug seems to be fixed now.

– I’m not using the elements loop here.
– updates can be made to the reusable block no matter on which page

Hello – I created a question and answer form on one of my pages using the form block. It seems to work fine however there is a long delay receiving the form by email on my end after the client submits it. It seems like 20 minutes or more sometimes. I’ve run several tests and I’ve found this as well. Any idea what could be causing this or how to fix it? thanks!

I noticed that the accordion does not work a little correctly. When you click on the “open” tab, it does not light up. When you click on the next one (or on any place on the screen), the previous tab lights up. Video:

Inserting with html block. The banner / link is generating fine in mobile but in desktop view nothing is showing at all. I have checked page source and the code is there, it’s just not displaying anything in desktop view.

I have tried to insert the code here in this post but the kadencewp site is blocking the code, so here is an image of the code.

Any ideas?

I am just wondering how can I add product subcategory sorting features under a general product category. For example, if I have enter a tech supply niche using my primary menu, is there any way to insert dropdown menus or widget with subcategories such as cell phone case, computer case..etc under the pet page. So, when people enter the tech supply they can use to dropdown menus or click on the images to go into subcategories. If I can implement these features, please inform me how to change the settings in theme options.

Apologies in advance for this being a long post – it’s a confusing issue. I hope the extra detail might be useful.

I created a set of hooked elements to add content above each of my category pages & my posts page using Kadence rows and sections. I’ve got the premium version of both Kadence Theme and also Kadence Blocks Pro installed.

They all worked fine. Then, I noticed that the text link had changed color. I suspect after one of the recent updates. But I was slow to notice.

So, I went through and found the issue – it was with the row element overlaying a color to links.

I fixed all of the hooked elements that had this issue. Cleared all my site’s caching and expected the color to change back.

Instead, what happened was that every hooked elements being applied to category pages broke entirely. Display settings were set to show on category archives, then set to individual categories. Placement is set to “Replace Above Content Hero”.

They went from this (fine):

To this (broken):

During my troubleshooting process, I noticed that the hooked element being add to my posts page was working fine. To rule out any hooked element having different settings, I tried adding the posts page element to category pages – they broke in the same way as before. This shows that there’s not an issue with any of the block settings within the elements.

Then, I tried changing the display settings to the 404 error page. The hooked element displayed without any issues there. I changed back to displaying via specific categories and changed the placement to ‘before content’ – and the element failed to display correctly (it looked similar to the example screenshot above).

This leads me to believe there is a glitch with displaying hooked elements on category archives specifically. Particularly when placement is set to ‘replace above content hero’.

Do you have any ideas as to how we can fix this?

Since my site is live, I’ve changed the problematic hooked elements to ‘pending review’ and reverted my category pages back to their default layout. So I can’t show you a live example of this right now.

I haven’t updated to Kadence 3.0 yet on a few sites, since it nuked my home page when I tested it in Beta. I’ve been busy working on other things, and was pushing it off. I foolishly neglected to turn off automatic updates for WordPress itself, and it auto-updated to WordPress 6.2 upon release. Nothing was broken from what I could see, so I didn’t do anything about it besides switching to maintenance/security auto updates only.

I went to queue up my monthly blog posts today, and I started getting this error in the editor only for Advanced Text blocks, saying “This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.” (or edited…)

I had been doing a bunch of plug-in updates all month for Kadence – besides the 3.XXX update for the main extension – and was dreading figuring out what the cause was & how much work it’d be to fix. Luckily it became very apparent it was WordPress 6.2, as when I rolled back to the last backup where I was still able to edit Advanced Text Blocks, it still had the auto-update WP thing enabled, and so it immediately updated to 6.2 again. When I went to check on the editor, it was doing the “This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.” thing again, so it 100% is WordPress 6.2 that is causing it. Everything else was successfully rolled back, since I disabled automatic updates for everything, so the only difference was WordPress 6.0 -> 6.2

What is causing this, and what is the work-around? I can’t find any way to roll back to 6.0 in the admin panel natively, and my backup has the auto-update enabled so I can’t roll back anything to fix it either. Really need to queue up my blog posts for the next month, so any help is appreciated ;_;

Thank you for the link to your site.

I checked it and the logo seems causing the shift. Here’s a video for reference: https://share.getcloudapp.com/eDurb9wD

You will notice that after reloading the page, there’s a gray part which is taller than the height of the logo and when the logo appears, it causes the content to move up.

I see the logo is lazyloading. Lazyloading should only happen below the fold.

Please try excluding the logo from lazyloading in LiteSpeed and see if it would make a difference.

If you need the logo class name to exclude in LiteSpeed, you can use “custom-logo” without apostrophes.

Please let us know how it goes.

Hi, is it just us or are the row layout sections out of order when you’re editing a page? They used to display neatly one next to another as they were created but after updating to the new version this morning they’re all over the place. Left columns are showing on the right, and right columns on a separate row underneath. It’s happening with all of the blocks on all of the pages. Please see screenshots! It’s not a massive problem since they do display correctly on the website but just wondering if this view is normal while editing..

Hi, Mike!

I’m sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Could you confirm what block you’re using to show posts on a non-archive page?

If you’re using the Post Grid/Carousel block, there is a workaround but it will require custom CSS code:

1. Add a custom class “use-element” to the Post Grid/Carousel block https://share.getcloudapp.com/L1u90O6n

2. Add this custom CSS to Customizer > Additional CSS:

.site .use-element .kt-blocks-post-grid-item-inner-wrap {
   display: none;
} 

The CSS will hide the default content of the Post Grid/Block in the front end. We will hide it since we are going to use a Hooked Element to display the layout you want.

3. Duplicate the Element that you used in the Loop Item template.

4. Change the Placement of this element to “Custom Hook”, and put kadence_blocks_post_loop_end – https://share.getcloudapp.com/WnuDQl6L

5. Change the Display settings to “Show On” > Single Pages > Individually > Select Items > select the page where you would like to use the Post Grid/Carousel block. This is important, if you will not set it to this, then the Element will be displayed to all Post Grid blocks on your website.
