Hi Dane!
Sorry…not explaining this very well….start again (not your fault…lol)
Ok on my old site in general settings backend my site title (webbplatsrubrik) is: DatorNissen (Swedish company)
My tagline (slogan)is: Datorsupport till små företag och privatpersoner…translated to English is Computer support to small businesses and private individuals.
Now the tagline is important everyone says… for google…but I don’t it as part of the tab info next to favicon…
My Homepage in Swedish is “Personlig service med hög kvalitet” which roughly translated is “Personal service with a high standard”
Now the standard tagline becomes part of the tab information next to your favicon…but on my site the homepage “Personal service with a high standard” has replaced the tagline…
I didn’t build this site and like I said the author doesn’t give a damn…but I like my “Homepage” Name “Personal service with a high standard” as part of the tab info next to favicon….(“Personlig service med hög kvalitet” in Swedish)
Am I making sense now?

I have changed the colour of “Title above content background colour” but the colour of Blog page (post page) is not changing. Although the Title background colour of rest of the page has changed.

Hi Adda,

Here’s the screen recording on how to set a menu navigation in the sidebar, please watch: https://share.getcloudapp.com/lludxr8o

As you can see, you need to change the Page Layout first from Appearance > Customize > Posts/Pages Layout > Page Layout > and from the Default Page Layout section, choose whether you’d like a left or right sidebar. And from there, you can add a Menu Navigation in a widget then assign a set of menu that you’d like to appear at the sidebar.

This method is easier than using Hooks Element. But if you want to know how to do it using a Hooks Element, please let me know and I’ll be happy to provide it for you.

Hi guys!

In the backend:
Under settings you have Site Title, Tagline etc..
My site title is there and my tagline – but on the front end my homepage has my homepage name in the info next to my favicon…
I am adding a screenshot so you can see…
Instead of “Home” I have “Personal service with a high standard”
In the template of the old site which the author has bailed out on there is some way in the code of hiding the tagline….which obviously is important but changing it to the home page name as shown in the pic below….
How can I achieve this in Kadence?

Hi Teejay,

so the error did occur again, and therefore our last response now seems to be a bit too premature. The video where the error occurred is around 17 MB, so that from our view the issue cannot be exclusively file-size related, but it could still be page-load related in general. But, we don’t have any proof of that.

Here is an image of the error as it is shown in the js developer console:

In the image above, when the Test User Profile name is hovered over, it goes to https://domain.com/author/test-user-profile.

The website link in the user profile is going to the about page.

Hi,

It’s been a long time since I’ve needed your help. 😉 But I’m am experiencing something strange I can’t resolve.

1) I have set Fonts in Customize> Colors & Fonts > Typography. All looks good in the editing screen. Then when I publish and go to the site, the font is different.

2) Header: I have a very thin space between Header and Primary Navigation. I have adjusted the height of both. In editing screen it looks perfect. When I update/save and go to the published homepage. Boom! There’s that white space. <sigh>

If they’re still not showing and you have a website cache active, please purge it to make sure that your pages will show the latest changes you did. You may refer to number 2 in this post – https://www.kadencewp.com/blog/how-to-troubleshoot-your-website/.&#8221;

Please could you confirm if you’ve double-checked the settings and if you have done the initial troubleshooting steps?

Regarding the error on the console log:

Did you recently migrate/transfer your website or change your domain? The font files are being called from “bigevs.com” but your website URL is now “bigevsmarketing.com”. Browsers will block loading the resources that are being called from a different domain. In your case, those are the font files. I am not too sure if this is directly a cause of the slider but it would also be good to fix the issue.

I believe you have loaded the Google Fonts locally. To check that, go to Theme Options > Misc Settings. Then, turn off the “Load Google Fonts Locally” option temporarily – https://share.getcloudapp.com/Z4uDbPbJ. If you have a third-party plugin for optimization and cache, purge them after saving the changes.

Then, enable the loading of Google fonts locally again, save changes, and purge the cache. See if the errors will still happen.

Please note that we cannot give an estimated date of when this request will be added. The developers consider certain factors before implementing new ones.

Thanks for reaching out to us and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

The author pages are also archive pages. Thus, the layout is the same as how the blog/category/tag pages look like. To show the authors’ descriptions, you’ll need to add the content to the “Biographical Info” option found on each user’s settings – https://share.getcloudapp.com/Z4uDbxvP.

This is how it should show if you’re using the title section for the archive layout – https://share.getcloudapp.com/YEuWqlj0.

On the other hand, if you have the Kadence Theme Pro and Kadence Blocks Pro add-ons, you can add dynamic contents inside the title sections of the author archives. As an example, you can see this screen recording – https://share.getcloudapp.com/lludx1vX.

The steps I did are:

1. Create a Content Section hooked element.
2. Add the content blocks
3. Selected the “ARCHIVE: Above Title Content (Use Priority for Before/After Placement)” with priority 10 for the Placement Settings.
4. Selected the “Author Archives” for the Display Settings.

For the author link, when the user has a Website set in their profile, the author link would use this URL. If you would like the author link to redirect to a specific/custom page, you can update the Website on the user’s profile.

As for the email subscribers, did you integrate it to any email marketing tools like Mailchimp? we get a somewhat mysterious error using the kadence slider. Every once in a while (let’s say every 30 page loads), we get a “Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CACHE_OPERATION_NOT_SUPPORTED” on the mp4-file, which we use in the kadence slider. This has at least happened in Chrome and Edge, but as you might guess from my previous statement, this not reliably reproducible. If it does happen, and we reload the page, the error does not occur again.

Any hint where this might come from would be very much appreciated.

I have a problem with advanced buttons. When I’m trying to set link to internal page, everything works correct. However when I’m trying to set link to external page (facebook profile) it simply does not save my settings and redirects me into main page.

Second problem is that I can not find e-mails of subscribers. When they fill the ‘subscribe with e-mail address field’ there is no any place where I can find e-mails addresses.

How can I solve the problems?

I want to be clear: “You say Kadence will not move to FSE for at least 1 year” is not accurate. I hope to have an FSE option that I am satisfied with much sooner. However, I do not think moving to FSE is in some way “better” it’s just different and Kadence will not “move to FSE” just allow it in other ways. Also to be clear you can build the header and footer in Gutenberg with Kadence, you do not need to wait on that if you want to do it. An example is the footer on this page which is built in Gutenberg and Kadence.

By dynamic, I am not talking about simply exposing fields from ACF, you can do that without issue in Kadence as well. Instead I’m talking about assigning layouts based on categories, and changing layouts of content without having to manually manipulate or build template files. A simple example is that with Kadence you can enable a sidebar and on a post by post basis disable it. With FSE instead of a setting applied dynamically, you need to edit the templates. I hope that makes sense.
