Hello dear Kadence Team,
after purchasing the premium version a few issues with custom templates and custom-fields resolved automatically which is very satifying, still I need your advice on how to achieve the following:
I have about 60 events as portfolio-products separated in 3 categories (musical, theater, comedie). Those events eventually get repeated in several different “seasons” which I defined and assign to the events as custom-taxonomies so I can query them in other custom fields/pages.
My client wants an archive page where the events are displayed grouped “by season” and yet possibly could be filtered by categories (see attached image).I tried to use the Portfolio shortcodes on a standard-page, but apparently it only allows to select from product-categories. I would rather keep the seasons separated from the categories so they do appear in the filters.
Is there a simple way to achieve this without messing too much around with the template, so it stays “update-safe”?
Is the portofolio archive limited to 48 objects as the option-page seems to indicate? Also, I have about 270 staff entries (lot of actors) so the staff-archive-grid can become slow to load. Is there a way to display only the title and no excerpt at all? CSS would allow to hide it, but I guess the data still get loaded in background…
Thanks in advance for your wisdom on those questions.
Kind regards, Thomas

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Kadence Slider Pro
Hi Kadence themes,
Since the Revolution Slider was not working anymore and I was already fed up with it for some time I decided to use you new built in Kadence Pro Slider. I figured since it’s built in with the theme it’s designed to work and update with the theme so I think this should make it easier to maintain and more compatible.
I have added the new slider to my homepage on http://www.autoperforma.com. Looks good and it seems to load a lot faster than the rev slider.
There are a few questions however:
1. Is it possible to play the slider only once and then freeze on the last slide? There does not seem to be a setting to control this.
2. Can I control the fade in/out transition time? It’s a bit fast now…
3. When I set it to use fullwidth with keep proportions on, the image is cropped on the top and bottom make the “welcome to” text disappear. I would expect it to scale the height accordingly.
4. The small arrow appears on the left of the screen, why isn’t it in the center? Thanks and good work on the slider, I like it so far!

BrunoIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeHI Kevin,
Sure, thank you.
Here is my home page : http://www.gimpygimpman.com/
and here is my About page ( for example ) : http://www.gimpygimpman.com/about/
In both cases I downloaded the pinnacle background and added my logos, I then uploaded to my library
both backgrounds, they are the same size, both are 400 pixels high. On the About page its much bigger
then the home page, I would like to have the home page background to match the size of the one on
the About page, it looks a bit cut off on the home pageThanks so much for your help !

Hi Ben!
I need to match the gallery layout to this page
*Login to see linkSo I would just put it in pagebuilder image widgets in rows but that’s time consuming.
Is there a gallery that will space them evenly and aligned? I tried several gallery settings with padding but I couldn’t achieve it.
No rush in assist…just curious
In forum: Virtue ThemeHello! I have a primary menu (header menu) and a secondary menu (blog menu) and I would like for them to appear at all times. However, the secondary menu is not showing up on my home page at *Login to see link – any ideas?
I’ve checked the WP menu settings as well as the menu setting inside Virtue.
Thanks!

Are you wanting it on the homepage? If so you can enable the portfolio carousel in the homepage layout manager in theme options > home layout then scroll down to Home Portfolio Carousel Settings to give it a fullwidth layout with no margin.
Hope that helps!Hannah

Hi Joesfine,
1. Looks like you’re using a sidebar template on your pages. You can set the template to fullwidth from the edit page under Page Attributes.2. Referring to your mobile menu, if you want it to appear above the banner I would recommend using the topbar menu. So in Appearance > Menus set your main menu to topbar navigation and remove the mobile navigation. Then you can use this css to hide the topbar menu on desktop:
@media (min-width: 768px) { #topbar .nav-trigger-case .kad-navbtn { display: none; } }Just paste that into your custom css box in Theme Options > Advanced Settings.
Hope that helps!
HannahIn forum: Virtue ThemeHey Patrick,
If you’re not familiar with coding I would actually recommend the second approach. Unless you are really wanting to go the child theme route. I’m sure Ben could walk you through a bit better, however he will not be on until tonight or tomorrow.
If you want to go the second route I would be happy to walk you through! You’re simply creating a page (From Pages in your admin panel) and leaving the page template default. Then paste Ben’s shortcode into the text editor of the page. Then go to Appearance > Menus and add this page to your menu and set the navigation label to shop (or whatever you want). Does that make sense?
Thanks for your patience.Hannah
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Flip Box responsiveness
June 19, 2016 at 12:37 pm #99752Hi,
I’m trying to get the three Flip Boxes on my main page to look correct on all devices.
Currently, they look great on desktop/PC as the image is the size of the Flip Box. However, when viewed on other devices they have a large border around the image, consisting of the background colour, either above and below, or on either side (depending on the device used)
Is there any way to get the Flip Box front images to look good all all devices?
Of the top of my head, I’m thinking the Flip Boxes should respect the image aspect ratios when viewed on mobiles, and then to have the tree boxes appear on the same row on tablets (so they appear like they do on desktop instead of being on top of each other)
Any ideas welcome

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Number of posts on home page
Are you talking about a home blog page that you’ve assigned via Settings> Reading? If so, then you can set the amount of posts that displays on that page in the same area.
This can also be set within the page edit screen if it’s a page using the blog template. You’ll find this option in “Blog List Options” on that page.
If this isn’t what you’re referring to, then a link and a bit more info regarding how you’ve got your page setup will be helpful in fixing it.
let me know if this helps at all!

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Post Slider Image does not appear on homepage too
Are you referring to the “Latest Blog Posts” that are assigned via Theme Options> Home Layout> Homepage Layout Manager?
If so, this is the default behavior of this option.
One way to get the full sliders on your home page would be to add this shortcode into the text editor or a visual editor widget in the home page edit screen.
[kad_blog orderby=date items=4 fullpost=false]This will pull up your blog posts just like they show up on the blog page. You also have some customization of that shortcode available.
This page will give you more info on that.http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/shortcodes/
Be aware that where this blog shows up on your home page will be controlled by where you place the “Page Content” in the Home Layout manager.
Let me know if this is helpful!
