March 6, 2014 at 2:35 pm #5802This isn’t really anything I see supporting in the future. It’s pretty standard to have a responsive layout and it makes the mosts sense to leave that functionally in any website. I suggest posting a link to your site and maybe I can give you some hints as to how to fix the layout.
But if you are determined try adding this to your child theme css. I strongly strongly don’t recommend this, it won’t be perfect but will help keep the layout to desktop:
.container { width: 1170px !important; } .span1, .span2, .span3, .span4, .span5, .span6, .span7, .span8, .span9, .span10, .span11, .col2-set .col-1, .col2-set .col-2, .col-md-1, .col-md-2, .col-md-25, .col-md-3, .col-md-4, .col-md-5, .col-md-6, .col-md-7, .col-md-8, .col-md-9, .col-md-10, .col-md-11, .tcol-md-1, .tcol-md-2, .tcol-md-25, .tcol-md-3, .tcol-md-4, .tcol-md-5, .tcol-md-6, .tcol-md-7, .tcol-md-8, .tcol-md-9, .tcol-md-10, .tcol-md-11 { float: left !important; } .col-md-1, .tcol-md-1, .span1 { width: 8.33% !important; } .col-md-2, .tcol-md-2, .span2 { width: 16.66% !important; } .col-md-25, .tcol-md-25 { width: 20% !important; } .col-md-3, .tcol-md-3, .span3 { width: 25% !important; } .col-md-4, .tcol-md-4, .span4 { width: 33.33% !important; } .col-md-5, .tcol-md-5, .span5 { width: 41.66% !important; } .col-md-6, .tcol-md-6, .span6, .col2-set .col-1, .col2-set .col-2 { width: 50% !important; } .col-md-7, .tcol-md-7, .span7 { width: 58.33% !important; } .col-md-8, .tcol-md-8, .span8 { width: 66.66% !important; } .col-md-9, .tcol-md-9, .span9 { width: 75% !important; } .col-md-10, .tcol-md-10, .span10 { width: 83.33% !important; } .col-md-11, .tcol-md-11, .span11 { width: 91.33% !important; }Ben

March 4, 2014 at 11:00 am #5679Using a child theme is best practice. Just copy whatever template files you want to change over to the child theme then edit away.
The link above is a basic shell for a child theme, not theme files are in it so it won’t ever need to be updated because it just is the shell for someone to add template files too.

Hi
I send you these 2 shots of my other site with your theme and then tell me what wrong on it http://www.wocmultimedia.biz/repository/UpdatingAnomaly3.jpg
http://www.wocmultimedia.biz/repository/UpdatingAnomaly3b.jpgWhat’s wrong in my steps? I deactivated child theme and activated Virtue Premium parent. You have the 2 shots and see what happen to me
this is the site http://www.expo2015-italy.com/clipshop/
use Admin data to enter and check yourself without modifying nothing just so we can compare what we see.I TESTED WITH 3 browser and all give the same situation of the shot 3b.

sorry when I sent you the shot I did it, in fact you got my shot because in my site I did it following your steps. But it never showed the update like you show me now. So I tried in that of my client and in both case it showed only in the child theme.
I will see next update
thanks

March 1, 2014 at 2:49 pm #5507Yeah you shouldn’t update the child theme. thats the problem, it showed that because you hadn’t updated the parent yet. and since you have just activated the parent it hadn’t updated the api to show you an update for the parent.
You can’t update a child theme and think it will update the parent, I thought I made that clear with my instructions to update the parent.

March 1, 2014 at 11:59 am #5480Nothing right now, seems to be a strange side effect if the new api that allows for updates in wordpress. Seems to want to update the child theme and not the real theme, I’m looking into it.

Hi Ben,
for the second time happened that when you make an update to the theme it shows the available update in the Child Theme and not in the Virtue Theme.
By my sake I saved a copy of the child theme because the update makes the child theme disappear completely and with it all the settings reset.
I have to ftp the old child theme and set it again.
Try to fix it please. Here’s a shot of the anomaly *Login to see link it is referred to my client site, that I haven’t updated yet.

February 27, 2014 at 7:16 pm #5374Are you using a child theme? did you enter the child theme folder name?
can you be more clear as to the problem?

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Adjust grid size of Featured Product carousel?
Well, tried renaming the folder again, this time it worked, all seems to have fallen back into place, i.e. child theme is there with up to date modifications. Beats me.
But, now also back to the original issue – the added css doesn’t seem to making any difference in the Featured Product Carousel spacing. I am now running Premium 2.1.6 under the child theme. -
