    Hey John,
    Are you using a child theme? If not you can download one from here: https://www.kadencewp.com/child-themes/
    Then you can paste that code into the functions.php of your child theme.
    Just to note, I haven’t personally used that function so I can’t say whether or not it works. Let us know how it goes for you!

    Thank you. This is super helpful. I really appreciate your quick response.

    Having slept on this and approaching with a fresh brain, I better know how to resolve. I get what you’re saying about specificity of classes and can redefine those colors via css in our child theme for now. You also confirmed a thought I had on why colors have been applied differently. There’s a good chance we added some colors before configuring your palette option. At least now I can assure my team member that she’s not totally crazy! 😉

    It’s good to know that unused blocks will not load scripts and styles – even if activated. I still want to keep blocks deactivated until I have a chance to set defaults for each. And sometimes too many options can be confusing for end users. I guess ultimately these users aren’t likely to poke around in settings. One can hope… I need to view your tools as a user w/o admin rights to get a better feel for this.

    I haven’t tried any of your themes. Up until lately, I totally rejected prebuilt themes, and I still try to use as few plugins as possible. But the rapidly changing WordPress-scape has forced me to adapt! I started using Astra because I’m building an e-learning portal – and Astra allows for tight integration with LearnDash. If your theme uses the more intuitive approach that your plugin does, I would consider adding another prebuilt to my toolkit. I do like your responsiveness to issues. I’ll read up.

    Thanks again. Mean it.

    The Bold child theme comes with set styling changes, such as the ones you’re experiencing. If you’re not wanting these you should use an empty child theme. You can download that from here: https://www.kadencewp.com/child-themes/
    Hope that’s helpful!

    Hi,
    I’m sorry hannah but i don’t really understand your question.
    I just switched my Premium theme to Child theme because I want to keep my settings safe when I update the theme.
    When I did, my site underwent a few changes. Including the logo in the sticky menu that no longer works and changes in appearance in the online store.
    Can you at least help with the logo? I integrated your CSS code and despite that, the main logo is erased during the scroll (https://www.lesvinsdelovalie.com/)and another appears glued to the menu …

    Thanks a lot for your help.

    Which parts of Bold child theme are you wanting exactly?

    Hey!

    I’m using your pro blocks plugin for the first time in a site staged here: We’re still in the early stages of building, and I need to know if I’ve made the right choice.

    I really like your logic / UI in the dashboard. That’s what convinced me to go pro. Plus I like your block selection. But now that I’m digging in, I’m seeing some issues.

    1) Color settings are not working consistently.

    If you go the my link, you’ll see several sections – each with advanced titles. In just two cases, the color setting worked. When I inspect to see why, I see styles being added in different ways. The orange script-style title uses :root before the selector, but the script-style title lower in the page does not – and the color isn’t working. The one blue title in the page is adding the color as an inline style – but no other title does this. (I don’t think(?) we accessed html view to do this.)

    The root cause of this is that we’re using Astra, and their selector for default colors includes .entry-content – which outweighs your selector. I can probably overcome this via my own css using :not, but down the road another dev or user may try to use the default color fields that Astra provides and get confused when they don’t work – or mess things up.

    All this said… why would two of the titles use a different method to assign colors? And wouldn’t it make sense to inline colors to avoid css conflicts? Or maybe use the same logic you do with typography? I tested a title by changing its font family, and it worked – because you use an id selector in your css.

    2) I’ve deactivated several blocks for now, but they are still listed when I go to block default settings.

    Again… I prefer not to confuse my clients. They don’t need to see these blocks listed if they’re not active.

    3) When I click the visibility icon (within block defaults) for Icon List, I get a box for (or titled) Spacer/Divider Settings.

    4) I would like to add an Adobe font to Font Family Options

    Is there a way to do this? Maybe a custom function you can provide for our child theme?

    That’s it for now. I’m very concerned… I so want to love this plugin, but the bugs have me spooked. I’ve used my own custom theme in the past, along with ACF content modules. But it’s time to go Gutenberg, and I don’t have the time to convert my theme just yet. In the meantime, I need a reliable tool for new builds – and for more junior members of my team. Help, please? 😉

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    I replaced my virtue premium theme with the bold child theme. Everything is going pretty well except:

    – I have 2 logos which appear in the “Basic with shrink for sticky”,
    – the text of the footer widget is centered while I would like to align it to the left.
    – the design of the woocommerce store is less design. How to change this?

    thank you,
    Have a good day and stay safe!

    Hi Hannah,

    I have been having an issue where I am unable to use the page builder with Yoast activated.

    If I deactivate Yoast the page builder comes back and I can edit the page.

    All plugins, theme and WordPress are updated.
    I am running a child theme
    Site is on our VPS at InMotion
    Site is running PHP 7.3 – this was an issue on 7.1 and 7.2

    I will send login in a private message.

    Thank you,
    Chad

    Hi Ben,

    [05-May-2020 12:33:05 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: Argument 1 passed to Kadence\Base_Support\Component::filter_script_loader_tag() must be of the type string, null given, called in /home/admin/domains/domain.cloud/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php on line 289 and defined in /home/admin/domains/domain.cloud/public_html/wp-content/themes/kadence/inc/components/base_support/component.php:375

    Upon activating the theme, BPS pro quarantined all three child files

    All your other themes are working just fine.

    Hi Ben,

    (not sure where to post this?)

    Tested your new agency theme, upon activating either the child or main theme I get this:

    There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.
    A new site and emails not working yet. nothing in error logs.

    Only your themes installed.

    I purchased the Pro, I installed “Kadence WordPress Theme” and then installed the Kadence Importer… go this message “No Kadence Theme activated. If you are using a child theme please activate the Parent Theme to import demo content.”

    Does the importer not work on this theme? I chose the theme because it says it is “NEW – NEXT GENERATION THEME”. Am I doing something wrong?

    thanks

    Is there a child theme template file solution for adding pagination? Or Function?

    Jeremy

    #248529

    Hey Tony,
    That isn’t necessarily something we recommend, but this post outlines how to do it: https://docs.themeisle.com/article/90-how-to-open-links-in-new-tab Make sure you’re using a child theme.
    Hope that’s helpful!

    Hi Ben,

    Quick question,

    where would add custom code in order to add the pink inverse triangle effect on the top of my blog page and post pages and bottom of the blog pages and post pages.

    Would copy part of the theme over to the child theme folder and add it there? Or is there a function I could use?

    I will send examples separately

    For some reason, that plugin seems to be filtering the template to use a page template instead of an archive template. I’m not sure why?

    Page templates call the title with get_the_title();

    And archives use get_the_archive_title();

    I suppose you can run a filter in your child theme:

    add_filter( 'ascend_title', 'custom_page_archive_title' );
    function custom_page_archive_title( $title ) {
    if ( is_archive() ) {
    $title = get_the_archive_title();
    }
    return $title;
    }

    I placed it in there for you.

    Hi

    Just bought Kadence Blocks Pro and started to build stuff. On my first page, I run into a few problems as some block layouts break on my site.

    – I made a live demo of the problems here:
    – Attached screenshots.
    – Setting: WooCommerce 4.01, WordPress 5.4, Storefront-theme v. 2.5.5.
    – Tested on Edge and Chrome on Win10 (and Twentytwenty-theme).

    Problem 1: ROW LAYOUT BLOCK
    This problem is seen on Tablet layout on Twentytwenty and Storefront themes.

    Problem: when having 2-column row set to collapse to 1-column on tablet and mobile and collapse order set to right-to-left, the first column flows under the content below and above in tablet.

    Problem 2: PRODUCT CAROUSEL BLOCK
    This problem is seen on Desktop and Tablet layouts on Storefront theme. Works as intended in Twentytwenty and in Storefront mobile.

    With the Storefront theme (and the child theme I’m using) the Product Carousel Block sets too tiny width to slides in desktop and this messes up the layout. The wrong width seems to be injected as inline CSS so I don’t know where the problem is.

    Where could I begin to fix these? Are some of my block settings wrong? Is it theme/plugin conflict?

    The Product carousel problems are more relevant, as I already use the block (and hide it on desktop). Thank you for your help.

    1. This css would remove the logo:

    .archive.woocommerce div#thelogo {
        display: none;
    }

    And this would allow you to replace it:

    .archive.woocommerce img.kad-standard-logo {
    content: url(YOUR-URL);
    max-height: 150px;
    }

    2. This will remove the extra padding and margin:

    .products .product_item {
        padding: 0;
        margin: 0;
    }

    There will still be a small gap because some of your titles are longer than others so the product containers are not the same.

    3. There isn’t a built-in function for that. There may be a plugin that allows for this but I don’t know of one, sorry.

    4. There isn’t a built-in function for this either. You would need to add a custom function into a child theme.
