Hi lorraine!
Twitter
Yes, we do not have a block to list down tweets like that. I think Twitter has specific layouts for embeds so you might want to see their posts. Or try third-party plugins (e.g. https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-twitter-feeds/) for listing them.
Header/Footer padding
The global padding will be applied to all containers on the website so they’ll have uniform spacing. Could you describe how you want your header and footer container spacings? If you want them full-width, you can select FULLWIDTH on each of their row’s General settings – https://share.getcloudapp.com/llugNWxK.
If you prefer losing the padding entirely for the header and footer even with the FULLWIDTH layout, you will need to need custom CSS code in Customizer > Additional CSS:
.site-header-row-layout-fullwidth>.site-header-row-container-inner>.site-container, .site-footer-row-layout-fullwidth>.site-footer-row-container-inner>.site-container{ padding: 0; }Hide widgets on mobile
Since WordPress now uses blocks for widget areas, you can use our Row Layout block to wrap the content of those widgets. This block has the Visibility Settings (https://share.getcloudapp.com/ApuezmQ9) so you can hide some sections on mobile views.
I hope this helps. Let us know if we can assist you further with these points. Otherwise, please open new support topics.

KarlaIn forum: Membership ForumsAnd any way to hide/remove widgets for Mobile/Tablet views? The Footer gets obnoxiously long on mobile especially, is there a way to not display them there?
Apologies for all the questions, I’m trying to make a template for future acquisitions so everything is configured right from the start and I don’t have to worry about fiddling with the customizer much in the future. Let me know if you prefer I make separate posts for other issues
(Also no rush on answering any of this, it’s not holding me back from anything and more importantly, it’s the holidays and you deserve time off)

In forum: Membership ForumsI was actually able to figure out the link colour issue – I can change it in the Footer Row settings! Still can’t choose the line height though / spacing between posts listed, and need to solve that
Still no luck w/Twitter either
I also noticed that both my Header & Footer are using the global content padding setting of 1.5rem (https://ibb.co/f88FtqL), which I have no clue how to disable. Turning it off in Inspect solves the issue, I just need to figure out where to hit that in the Heading/Footing settings w/o affecting the rest of my content (Or what CSS needs to be written and where to put it ;_; )
In forum: Membership ForumsI’m currently converting my first acquired site to Kadence, and I’m stuck on how to recreate this footer they have in their Elementor WP site:
I keep getting the links defaulting to my Theme’s settings, and there isn’t any way to override it in the settings of the Latest Post block. I can’t see any other way to simply list the latest X post titles, with little dotted dividers between each and in the colours + spacing I want. Do I have to use custom CSS, or is there a better block that I can use for the footer element? (and could you help me figure out what to write for it if so? My CSS skills are script-kiddy tier at best lol)
As for the latest Tweets part, I can’t find any Kadence resource that does it surprisingly, and the WP-included blocks for embedding tweets seems to just host the whole site in a gigantic window. Honestly I hope Twitter finally dies so I can just be rid of it haha, but do you know if there’s a way people usually do the latest X tweets dynamically in Kadence typically?
Cheers

In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Footer Menu Issue
Hi there!
Thanks for sending the website URL.
I saw that you are using a Navigation Menu widget and made it collapsible. This is why the styles are adding bottom borders. If you want to remove those, add this to your Customizer > Additional CSS:
footer .collapse-sub-navigation ul.menu li a { border: none; } footer .collapse-sub-navigation ul.menu .drawer-nav-drop-wrap .drawer-sub-toggle { border: none; }This is how your footer menu will look – https://share.getcloudapp.com/geuOgrw2.
I hope this helps. Let us know if we can assist you further.

hello, please could you share solution with us? There is still problem with link colors in footer. I have “widget 1” with “Advanced Text” blocks with “link” and “hover” colors set to black, but for some reason it is getting wrong color from pallete9 for links in text. Here is style from dev tools Elements:
.site-footer .site-top-footer-wrap a:not(.button):not(.wp-block-button__link):not(.wp-element-button) { color: var(--global-palette9); }Color should be black here, not “var(–global-palette9)”
Thank you
EDIT:
Found it, my bad. I’ve set “link color” for entire TOP ROW in the footer. Everything is OK now. Sorry, for false alarm 😁-

The footer menu on my site is underlined. I have tried some of the CSS codes I saw on posts with similar issue, but it didn’t work for me.

Hi Dane,
I do have a child theme working with other files (Style.css, functions.php, footer.php…) But for some unknown reason, the search.php file inside wp-content/themes/kadence-child/template-parts /header is not being applied to my website.
I was wondering if for this file something special was needed to apply it, like enqueue it in a special way?In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Header search.php modifications in a Child theme
Hi,
It looks like you’re adding custom code directly to the theme. It is not recommended to add any custom code directly to the theme files. Those changes will just be overwritten once the theme was updated to its latest version. If you want to edit theme PHP files, you will need to use a child theme.
On the other hand, for easier implementation of the script, you can add it using a code snippets plugin. Here’s a guide you can follow – https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-add-header-and-footer-code-in-wordpress/.
Hope this answers your question.

November 26, 2022 at 6:23 am #281222Hi overthere!
New customer here, collecting experience with Kadence and telling you my first impression regarding this topic 🙂
I can’t urge enough to make this topic a high priority, since GDPR compliance is a thing in Germany and the first verdict$/$entences were stated, which require the visitor to opt in to google maps / videos / fonts etc and website owner are and come under pressure.
I just installed the https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-theme/starters/travel-blog/ and tried to get rid of the google fonts. Installed the Custom Fonts Plugin but I found it super tedious to add every single size/style including uploading the fonts. Imagine using 4 Fonttypes with 2 sizes each and italic or bold. Unfortunately this makes this plugin complete unusable for me.
So I was glad that I could add a snippet in the functions.php of the child theme.
In the customer I switched all occurences Header/Footer/Single/Archive but then I realised that I had to track down all occurences of the font I wanted to replace, since this could be overwritten on the elements. So for last element on the Startpage I had to go to the post caroussel in there and set the font for “Read More” in the block. Unfortunately it was not in the drop down box of the caroussel block. So I had to set it to System Font. See Bug Report at the end 🙂
So my Startpage does not load google fonts anymore, but the blog posts do, despite I set everything in the customizer to my custom fonts. For now I fiddled around quite a time (including searching and writing this forum post). And I am really not happy with this solution since this makes your wonderful starter themes and all the ideas and possibilities attached to this a bummer, at least for your german/european customers. In another blog post here a I read that the Ascend Premium theme has the option to load google fonts locally. Kirki Framework does this as well – uses/imports all google fonts locally just with a click.
If I did oversee something and you know a better approach, please let me know. Otherwise: Please make this a priority topic to add a convenient possibility to store and use Google Fonts locally and hopefully something to switch all occurences of a font in a starter theme in one place.
Thank you
Stephan.
Bug-Report: My Font from the functions.php added via kadence_theme_add_custom_fonts can be chosen in the customizer but not in the block on a page itself. This seems to be true for all the blocks. If I add it with the Custom Font Plugin it is possible. Sidenote: Fonts from functions.php are showing on the first position within the in the customizer font dropdown but not with the categegory “Custom Fonts” opposed to Fonts added via the plugin.
In forum: Kadence ThemeNovember 23, 2022 at 10:20 am #281197Hello guys, I am having troubbles when activating the child theme, the one that I downloaded from your site and the one that I created myself. The issue is that when I activate the child theme, it does not inherit the parent style. It is not fullwidth, fonts changed, header and footer are broken. When I enter to Appearence-customize, it seems like nothing is set up. This is the first time it happens to me. I am working with Kadence, Starter Templates and Kadence Blocks.
Do you guys know what could I do to fix this?
In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: How to remove the header on selected pages?
Hi,
There’s a built-in option from the page editor. Here’s how, please watch: https://share.getcloudapp.com/QwujvBKJ
As you can see, you can disable header and footer from the “Page Settings“.
Hope this answers your question.

In forum: Kadence ThemeHey, how to remove header and footer on selected one or two pages.
I want it to stay on the main page, but not to have header and footer on subpages.
There are topics on the forum and disabling the css header but I pasted the code into the additional css and theme settings and it didn’t help.
Is it possible to do it somehow through the settings? Or just css code?In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Change theme from ascend to kadence
Hi, @zelishmekhi!
This may have an effect but I am not sure if a positive or negative one.
If we talk broadly, Kadence is built using HTML5 markup to define sections, articles, headers, and footers which more easily allows search engines to understand your site. Also, the correct use of heading tags and preserving the heading structure is the most important part of SEO. Beyond that in certain areas (header, sidebar, footer) schema is added to again help search engines understand the content of your pages.
If you switch themes, your page contents should stay. So if your page contents are SEO-optimized, I think there shouldn’t be a negative impact on SEO. Also, the SEO plugin(Rank Math) could also help you should there be some things to improve on in terms of SEO.
What I could recommend is trying out the switch first in a development website rather than applying it right away to your actual, live one.
I hope this helps. Let us know if we can assist you further.

KarlaIn forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Can Nav menus be displayed vertically?
Hi Edward,
Absolutely! You can use the Widget Footer item from the Footer builder when you go to Customize > Footer. Once you’ve added the Widget footer item, please use the Navigation Menu block and select the menu that you want to set as Footer Menu. Here’s the screen recording, please watch: https://share.getcloudapp.com/WnuZReO8
Hope this answers your question.

DaneIn forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Can Megamenu be used in a footer?
Hi Edward,
Good question!
Mega menu works only on header. Even you used the same menu navigation (with the ultimate menu feature is enabled) on both header and footer, it will only reflect on header.
If you want this feature to be available on footer as well, please add your request here: https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-theme/feature-requests/?search=mega%20menu
So other users can vote on it. However, please note that we cannot give an ETA of when this will be added. The development team considers certain factors like how many people have requested it, how difficult it is to implement, and so on before implementing new ones.
Hope this helps and let us know if we can assist you further.

November 1, 2022 at 6:35 am #280904Hi Peter,
Thank you for writing.
You can also add the Kadence Modal block within the Fixed Element and then enable the “Load Content After Footer” option under the Modal > Advanced setting. Here’s a screen recording: https://share.getcloudapp.com/OAujXg1z
I have included also in the video how you can trigger the Modal using the Advanced Button.
I hope this helps and let us know how we can help further.
