    Hi,
What is the reason behind Icon Block in Footer not working? That is, I can select an Icon Block and add it to the footer in a column, but I can not change the type of icon. For instance I can not change the round “default” icon to any other icon available in the Icon Block.

Is this a technical bug or a feature blocked so only PRO users of Kadence Theme can use it?

    Thanks in advance
    Stefan

    Hi Sara,

Glad to hear you were able to sort this.

Technically, the header and footer work almost the same, even if the footer has an option for number of columns.

The footer has a maximum of 5 columns. If you try to drag and drop the header widgets, you’d see there can be up to 5 columns as well. Here’s a video: https://share.zight.com/NQu9x8zv

Both can also have one column.

Additionally, we will launch the Advanced Header / Navigation block this week, which has the ability to have only one column or more and customize it further. Here’s an example: https://share.zight.com/v1uqLXJx

Please let me know how I can assist further.

    Best,
    Chito

Ok, after a more tinkering, I realized when I put everything in the middle column then it all centers and fills the full width of the browser window, which solves my issue.

Just out of curiosity, is there a reason why I can choose the number of columns in the footer but not the header?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

I want to have the header main row be just one column, not three – is this possible? I can do this in the footer but, in the header, I’m forced to use three columns. This is causing my menu to not display properly. Here’s a screenshot of the Customize screen to show what I’m seeing.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

We’d love to assist you on this but currently, there is no built-in feature in Kadence for this.

We may have a existing feature request related to this, but I don’t have a firm timeline on when or if that might be developed.

Here’s the link to the feature request so you can vote and comment on additional information, that will help the development team better understand the importance of adding this feature: https://feedback.kadencewp.com/p/ability-to-import-export-header-and-footer-designs-header-amp-footer-templates

If you want, you can also submit a new feature request.

As a work-around, you can try exporting the entire site, importing it to the new site and deleting the pages and content you do not need. This way, the header design will be exactly as the original website.

We appreciate your continued patience and understanding regarding this matter.

    Kind Regards,
    Michael Taro

    Hi there,

I feel like I should be able to figure this out, but it’s clearly the end of a long week.

I want a background image to fill the entire homepage (and I’ll be turning off both the header and footer off that page) and don’t want that background image to display on any other pages. I can see in the Customizer where I can set a background image under General and/or Page/Post Layouts in the Design section but, on individual pages, the Design settings/options aren’t available.

This is probably something very simple that I’m overlooking, so would really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction.

    Many thanks!
    Sara

    Hi there!

As previously mentioned by Michael, if you have a script, you can add it via the Custom Scripts feature of Kadence Pro – https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-theme/knowledge-base/pro-addon/how-to-add-scripts-in-header-footer/

Could you describe how you’re adding the prayer times to your website so we can better assess if there is any plugin or features that you could use?

    #291256

    Hi there,

    Thanks for writing in.

The website you’re trying to display refuses to display its content when embedded on a different domain via an iframe. You need to allow it on https://www.osfcareers.org/ website by setting the X-Frame-Options header value to ALLOW-FROM.

More information about it here: https://www.malcare.com/blog/x-frame-options-wordpress/

Kindly note that ‘ALLOW-FROM’ is not supported in all browsers.

If your source website has an API integration via a custom code that can be used on a different website, you can do this with Kadence Custom Scripts.

Hope this helps, and please let me know how I can assist further.

    Best,
    Chito

    Hi there,

We’d love to assist you on that but there is no built-in feature for that in Kadence.

If your source for prayer times has an API integration via a header code, then you can certainly insert that.

In order to insert custom scripts, you would need to install Kadence theme PRO and enable the PRO feature Header/Footer Scripts: https://nimb.ws/xTNUe3

Once that is enabled, there will be an option for you to insert custom scripts to the theme. You can insert the Google Analytics code on the Customizer >> Custom Scripts.

    See this: https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-theme/knowledge-base/pro-addon/how-to-add-scripts-in-header-footer/

But if you are using the free Kadence theme, you can use a 3rd party plugin to add the header code. Try using this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/insert-headers-and-footers-script/

With regards to the prayer times display, have you looked into using a Row Layout block instead? https://www.kadencewp.com/help-center/docs/kadence-blocks/row-layout-block/

Look into the free Kadence Blocks plugin. You might find a block that can help you better than just using HTML tables: https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-blocks/

Let us know if we can assist you further.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi there,

Thanks for sending the website link.

I can confirm seeing the footer missing on your website.

Can you confirm what version of Kadence theme are you using?

Also, did you go through the plugin deactivation test? Sometimes, plugins can be the source of this issue. Disable your plugins one by one and check if the error disappears after each deactivation. This will help you identify if a specific plugin is causing the problem: https://www.kadencewp.com/help-center/docs/kadence-theme/temporarily-deactivating-plugins/

Let us know how we could help you further.

    Hi Michael,

I deactivated and deleted Kadence theme, cleared cache and reinstalled. With Twenty-Four theme the footer showed, but when I reinstalled Kadence it’s again not there.

    Hi there,

    That is odd indeed.

Your footer wouldn’t be removed by removing a footer widget like the Copyright widget.

Have you checked if it is something caching related?

If you are using are caching plugin and a CDN service like Cloudflare, try to also check if the issue is not caching related by clearing all your cache: https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-theme/knowledge-base/troubleshooting/clearing-your-website-cache/

    Try this.

    – Deactivate and delete Kadence theme.
    – Clear your cache and reinstall using the latest version.
    – See if the issue persists.

Are you using custom CSS? If you are, can you verify you did haven’t accidentally hidden it using CSS?

Also, can you send us a link to your website where we can see the issue?

Let us know how we could help you further.

    Kind Regards,

    Screenshot-2024-08-15-09-24-11

Hi Archita, thanks for your help.

I made two screenshots. In the header you see the blue edit button. When I click on it, I can edit the header as normal. As you see in the second screenshot, this button is missing where the footer should be, so I can not edit it. As you see I added the Copyright and social wisgets to the footer builder, but they don’t show because there is no footer. I also can’t change the colour of the footer, because the whole footer is missing.

All plugins and Kadence are updated, I also did not disable the footer for single pages.

    Hi Sandy,

I’m glad you reached out. I’d be happy to help.

As of now, with, you can add a row layout with 6 columns. You can add gallery(adv) in footer widget and set the carousel mode, it will allow you to show upto 8 columns. Check the screencast for reference: https://share.zight.com/2NuoJm2x

You can check the documentation here: https://www.kadencewp.com/help-center/docs/kadence-blocks/advanced-gallery-block/

I hope this helps. Let us know if we can assist you further.

    Best Regards,

    Hi There,

I tried to replicate issue by making changes in the footer, but couldn’t replicate it. You can refer to the screencast for reference: https://share.zight.com/yAueXKwE

Can you share the screen recording of the whole process? You can use apps like Zight or Loom to record your screen or capture screenshots of the issue and easily share the links with us.

For initial troubleshooting, please could you do the steps listed in this article https://www.kadencewp.com/blog/how-to-troubleshoot-your-website? This will help us rule out these usual causes of WordPress issues, so we can move on to investigating other possible causes of this issue on your website.

You can check the documentation to edit the footer here: https://www.kadencewp.com/help-center/docs/kadence-theme/how-to-customize-the-kadence-footer/

I hope this helps. Let us know if we can assist you further.

I need to put 8 association logos in a single row across the bottom of every page on my website.

It looks like I can create a row layout with only 6 columns, and I couldn’t find a way to configure 8 items in the footer widgets.

    Any suggestions

    #290852

I’m using Kadence Free Theme. After installation I deleted the Copyright text of the footer section so that I can begin working from a blank page.

Now I want to add a new footer, but in Customizer I can only move widgets and other elements to the different rows, but they won’t show on the page. I can’t select the footer on the page and tried everything to bring back the footer or select it on the page via the Customizer, but it disappeared.

Is there any possibility to bring the footer back? Thanks for help!

I’m encountering an issue with the Kadence theme on my website After updating to the latest version, I noticed that my custom header and footer settings are not saving properly. Whenever I try to adjust these settings, they appear to reset to default when I reload the page. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and are there any known solutions or troubleshooting steps?
