In reply to: hreflang Tags
December 13, 2018 at 2:52 pm #210693Hey,
I’m looking at your content I don’t see anything that is multilingual, You seem to only be defined as the already defined site language.I think google is supposed to ignore it if it’s the same as your site language.
You can run a test using something like: https://technicalseo.com/seo-tools/hreflang/
There you can see the the tag is there but it’s not defining anything more then what’s already set as the site language.
What are you interpreting hreflang tags to be?

Hello,
You can change the text to whatever you like within the woocommerce string translations for your language by using this plugin:

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeTopic: Pre-order button
Hi,
I wondered if it’s possible to get a pre-order button in my shop, but in my language, norwegian “Forhåndsbetilling”?I see that if I go into product and inventory, I can choose “in stock”, “out of stock” or “on order”. Is it possible to change this titles?
I have some items I get into January and wish to open a pre-order button. Can you help me get it?

In forum: Ascend ThemeI was given the following language as a suggestion for the site I am working on. Does your theme and WP provide these types of retention options? I am send this to WP-Members plug in support as well.
Just trying to finalize the language for it. This is new territory for my learning curve. Note the retention durations given. Have no idea if this is applicable to my site. Thanks for your input on this.

In forum: Ascend ThemeNovember 12, 2018 at 11:35 am #207210Hey Kevin,
I also tried this but then margin is set on zero on every single widget inside the footer column, so there is no space between the widgets.
Maybe it depends on how many widgets are in the columns and how they are routed with the language switcher.
I had not those problems, before i updated the Polylang plugin.Markus
In forum: Ascend ThemeNovember 12, 2018 at 9:15 am #207172Hi guys,
I have some problems with the widget-margins after updating Polylang to the latest version, as you can see it on *Login to see link .
It appears on both language versions…Thanks in advance!

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi, I have a site in two languages, English and German. I have been provided with german copy and I have English and German flags in the top bar. The English links to the front page and German Flag links to the German page (obviously)
The german has (or in the process of) been populated by German text.
I want to achieve different Nave names (in German on the german page). is this possible with CSS in the Menu to switch to German (I will do the translations).
I’ve tried a few plugins but they either translate the page again or provide a two stage translation for the menu and selecting the page, which is clumsy.Any help out there?

Loco translate does actually change the source string. It’s not a multilingual plugin like wpml. It’s a language file editor. It edits your language files directly and should work to change that text to whatever you like.
I just tested and quickly changed the “next project” string to anything I want. It works fine and if setup properly takes only a minute. Just be sure to select the correct language, search for your string, and change it to whatever you like. No child theme required.

In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Ascend strings to translate / localisation
Hi Kevin,
I tried that too – but I need to change the source text. Loco translates into different languages, same as WPML, but doesn’t allow me to change the source string.
In this case, portfolio is used to display performances, so the word “project” is not suitable and I need to change it. Well, I did via a child theme, but what happens if you change the php template later and my child theme templates will stop working? Therefore my suggestion is a better long term solution.
This isn’t a temp fix or one off request – I’ve had this issue many times, every time I changed the child theme, but as I’m a premium paying customer, why should I need to constantly dig into code, if a single change at your end could address that :).
thanks!
LukasIn forum: Ascend ThemeHi guys,
In theme settings>languages you give us some options to update / translate strings like SEARCH etc. But others are missing, namely:
Portfolio: previous project, next project, similar projects (related projects slider at the bottom of each portfolio item)Use case:
I have a multilingual website using WPML. I can change the DE or any other language strings to whatever I want. But the original strings previous project, next project, similar projects can’t be changed / translated.
I tried plugin Say What – works ok for the original language, but then the translated strings are not found, i.e. original language shows on all languages.
The only option is to update the strings in the PHP template using a child theme, which is pretty cumbersome, considering you have the strings option in Languages menu.
Can you add these please? Same for any other strings of this type, maybe there are some for Staff?
thanks,
LukasIn forum: Virtue ThemeHi Anu,
From my understanding, because your original posts are set as private, the translated posts will take on the settings of the original. Have you tried creating new posts for the languages you want the posts to be published?
You can turn off the portfolio filter from within your portfolio edit page under portfolio options.
Also, be sure to set the All Projects Default Portfolio Page from Theme Options > Portfolio Options. Right now it is taking me to a page not found. Be sure to save your permalinks as well.
Hope that’s helpful!Hannah
In forum: Virtue ThemeOctober 29, 2018 at 6:06 am #205744Hi,
I am really confused on whats happening on my site cool-x.fi. I have several portfolio items (in other languages than finnish, the finnish ones have been marked as private, so they are not visible). The other language items are translations of the finnish ones but are set as published. But for example the portfolio items in spanish “Productos” page, are somehow marked as “Private” even if I time and time again go and mark them published. They will not stay publised but are set back to “Private” without me doing anything!
The other issue is that suddenly, a manu consisting of portfolio categories appeared on the portfolio page. Where did that come from?

Translation issue:
Did some digging but couldn’t find a solution. The suggested plug in didn’t work. However, I found a translation file in the Virtue_Premium theme folder. In the header of the file it says: “Language-Team: Virtue Theme german translationn” so I assume this file is part of the theme.
I looked at it and found the proper translation listed in the file. For some reason, it doesn’t get rendered on the actual webpage.
Please see picture. Any suggestions?
In forum: Ascend ThemeGood Afternoon,
I’m having trouble with my Welsh language home page reverting to English after making any changes to the page and updating. I contacted WPML support and after some testing it seems to be SiteOrigins Page builder widget (Main plugin not Widgets bundle) thats causing the issue. (I deactivated all plugins except WPML and when I activated the SiteOrigin plugin the issue occurred.)
As this is a Theme recommended plugin I though I’d enquire here first. Can you help?
Thanks,
AnthonyIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Link Color, Language, Cart icon
@Kevin
1: If you use the primary color option, it also affects most woocommerce buttons as well as the shipping cart icon etc. This causes an issue especially if you use a “dark theme” (dark background etc.). It would be really useful if it was possible to change the color of links in pages, product descriptions etc, without affecting the woocomerce buttons or other links in product tiles etc.2: Thanks! I don’t know why I missed that option…
3: I thought it might be related to an issue with the theme itself because everything else in woocommerce is shown in the proper language. I’ll be trying your suggestion.
4:Worked. Thanks!
In forum: Virtue ThemeI got 3 questions (page: http://www.schmittegmbh.ch):
1: How can I change the color of links on posts, product descriptions, pages etc. without changing the highlight color?
I could of course use custom CSS but that would mean that I need to add custom code to each link whenever I create a new page, product etc.
I was hoping there would be a way to just change the link color without affecting the highlight color site wide.2: I noticed that there is no way to access the “shopping cart” in the mobile version unless you have a “top bar” on your page. Is there a way to get the little shopping cart icon that shows in the desktop version to show up in the mobile main menu as well? As a work around, I added a link to the shopping cart in the main menu which will also display in the mobile menu. However this is not a good solution as the link in the main menu is redundant in the desktop version of the page (I now have the shopping cart icon as well as the shopping cart link in the desktop version of the page). If there is currently no way to access the shopping cart from the mobile page without a “top bar”, I would like to put in a feature request.
3: For some reason “Shipping” is not translated to the installed local language on the check out page (see posted picture).

Hang on. Sorry, wrong info…
The PHP and error messages are from a second site I’m working on. The one that I had the Virtue Premium running and had the portfolio navigation bug is running in MAMP locally with PHP 7.2.8.
https://www.kadencewp.com/support-forums/topic/virtue-premium-portfolio-navigation-format/I’m working on and testing two different sites on this MacBook Pro.
The font and slide problem I’m having on a different site using Ascend premium. That site is running online via a hosts redirected domain name. That one is running PHP version 5.5.38. Here’s the system info from that server. Sorry about the confusion. (This is a hosts redirected path, it’s NOT the same as the http://agilitydoctor.com that’s live online that you’d see from your end.)
