Hey,

It looks like you’ve edited some files? Your code output is messed up with head content showing twice. Can you tell me what you are editing?

Using a child theme it’s possible to run on the logo link. You would need to devise a way in that filter to determine which language is active.

I’m not seeing this space. If I resize the browser window erratically, then there is a space, but this is not anything that a typical user of your site will do, and the space disappears when the slider resizes itself.

For this, you would have to configure a multilingual site. That way you can control the content for each language separately. See here:
https://www.kadencewp.com/how-to-build-a-multilingual-woocommerce-site/

Good Afternoon,

I’m trying to translate a Woocommerce shop with WPML but I’m having trouble translating a section created using your Checkout Manager within the Woo Add-ons.

I have a select dropdown created for the customers preferred language however despite scanning for strings within the plugin I can’t seem to find it to translate within the WPML strings.

Other translations like ” I’ve read and accept the terms & conditions” also seem to not want to translate 🙁 but I’m not sure if this is a Kadence or Woocommerce thing.

Can you help?

Many Thanks,
Anthony

Hello,

The website is

I want to remove the site title (left of primary menu), and

1) arrange the menu to left and the language flags with the search to the right; or (if not possible this way):

2) center all the menu

I tried several solutions given within the forum to remove the site title/logo, but no one worked.

Thank you,

Nicolae

Hi Hannah,

I apologize with you because I was testing the Italian language only and of course I couldn’t see the text resizing in English and Spanish.
After your suggestion I cleared the cache without any success and tested the English version, so I discovered there was something wrong in the Italian version. I don’t know how but there’s a span style setting font-size to 24pt. I removed and anything went fine again using your CSS rule.

A little question just to know it. When I set the home header in the menu items list Kadence Slider Legacy isn’t present. Was it your choice or did you miss it? I used the add shortcode item to set my slider.

Thanks
Angelo

If you want to add the scripts add this in your theme options > header and footer scripts. This goes in the “header scripts”

And this goes in the footer scripts:

The language file is not part of the theme, as long as you have loco you can edit strings and it will not be removed.

I think in regards to the short description you would have to manually set those links for each language.

Hey,

You should be able to change that text to whatever you need by adding this plugin:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/

Once added, go into the plugin settings, and access Ascend Premium’s text domain.

Select “new language,” then choose French as your language. Once in the language file, search for “similar posts” string.

Select the string, and enter in your translation.
Let me know if that works for you.

Dear Ben,
Thank you for the change of the site’s setup. It’s incredible, how helpful you are and we are really happy, that our pictures show up even within the gallery!!!
There is only one thing: the font on the homepage is other than on any other point.

Should I open a new ticket on this issue: When translating products with WPML/Woocommerce Multilingual I can set links to my other products within the description field (choosing the link to the original English item out of the popup that shows all my pages, posts and products) in the frontend all links lead properly to the German version of the product.
BUT when doing the same thing within the Product Short description the link points to the original English language.
Example: https://iiamo.com/de/product/iiamo-home-drink-flaschenset/ In the top you can find a link to “iiamo drink” in this sentence: ‘Mit diesem Babyflaschenset bekommen Sie den Trinkaufsatz iiamo drink zusammen…’ Clicking on iiamo drink you will be directed to the English product. Whereas in the description beneath, the link works fine.

Thank you so much for your great support
Kind Regards
Angelika

I’m running a few of websites with this theme. I’m able to update the theme on a couple of them and getting these errors when updating on another. I’m way out of my wheelhouse of knowledge when it comes to this. I thought Id post here to see what might happen. This is the message I get from my hosting support…

Also, to go to your account’s error logs go ahead and login to your account > Tools > CGI and Scripted Language Support > Check Error Logs. Some of the main errors we see related to your theme are the following:

This is basically telling us that your theme is using using deprecated PHP functions. In other words, it looks like the theme developers are using old code that they need to update. We tested your website on the lowest version of PHP up to the latest version available on your account, but received these errors regardless of what PHP version was set. After having seen these errors, we know we will not be able to resolve any issues that arise after updating the theme. As we are not the theme developers we have no control over this, unfortunately. For this reason we cannot update the theme for you even with the service fee. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. However, you may want to consider trying another theme. We would only recommend using a theme that is well trusted, has very good reviews and is updated regularly.

I appreciate any help I can get.
Thank you

Hey,

If you’ve made the changes to php within a child theme, then you will not have to worry about losing the translation.

Another option would be to use this plugin to translate the language file:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/

Within the plugin, search for the “search” string in the woocommerce files.

Let me know if this is helpful.

Hi Anders,
1. You can change the read more text from Theme Options > Language Settings > Post READ MORE text.
2. Do you mean the staff image? You can use this css:

.staff-image-container {
pointer-events: none;
}

Thank you Ben.

I contacted WPML who said that translating Shortcode is not possible.

They said to create two slides, one in each language, and copy each slider shortcode in the French and in the English home page.

But how can I do it on the home page, since I already have a Virtue “Call to action” created with the PAGE BUILDER.

Thank you for your help.

Benoit Laporte (Ben in French)

#178485

Hey,
So sounds like Kevin is thinking about this for a single language site. Not multilingual with WPML.

The simple method if you are using a multilingual site is to create two sliders (one for each language).

Then based on how you are adding them to a page you use wpml to show one or the other.

Let’s say you are using the homepage slider options. There instead of selecting your Kadence slider through the theme options choose the “shortcode entry” selection of the theme options > home slider. Then add the shortcode for your default language slider.

Next, go to string translations in WPML and “translate” that shortcode for your other languages using the second slider shortcode.

Let me know if that doesn’t make sense.

Ben
