In reply to: How to update Ascend theme and keep translations?
I lose all strings from Woocommerce.
Translations from the theme…For example on the home page in Dutch: http://www.cuba4allreizen.nl
On the modal button when the window opens I get the word “close” instead. I was getting the Dutch translated word “sluiten” before the theme was updated.
Or when you go with the mouse on the woocommerce icon, if you have not purchased any item, you should recieved a message in different languages such as: “no product has been added to cart” – all this has been lost after updating the theme.

October 30, 2017 at 10:14 am #165786For widgets you just need to create one for each language. see here: https://polylang.pro/doc/widgets/
The topbar icon menu is set up to be part of your polylang string translations. Post a login if you can’t find.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Mobile menu plugin vs. theme settings
EDIT: ignore below reply, I have found a solution to this problem by making a duplicate menu and assigning it to my mobile menu only.
++++++++++
I’d also like to “hide” the WPML Japan and England language switcher flags that are displayed within the mobile menu if possible, as they already appear at the top in the header of my homepage.
I spoke with the mobile menu plugin developer about this as well, but couldn’t accomplish what I wanted.
Thank you.
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Kadence Slider – dual-language
Hi Hannah
I’m using Polylang to translate my site. However, I didn’t create the French version of the slider in Polylang, but just used the Kadence Slider plugin to do that.
I found the shortcode for each slider in the Kadence Slider plugin, but as there are two shortcodes – I’m not sure where to add them?
At the moment, the English homepage’s slider was activated the slider in Theme Options > Home Slider > Home Page Slider Options.
The French page Accueil – which is identical to the English home page except for the language – also seems to be pulling in this English slider as this setting seems to apply across both versions.
I just need to have the shortcode for the English slider in Home and the shortcode for the French slider in Accueil, but where exactly do I put it?
Thanks for helping.
Tanya
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi
I’ve created English and French versions of my homepage slider in Kadence Slider.
At the moment both English and French home pages (Home and Accueil) are showing the English version of the slider.
What do I need to do to get each of these pages to show the relevant slider, please?
Here’s a link to my site:
Thanks

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: search widget remove “search” title
You should be able to remove the title of the search in Appearance> Widgets. If you can’t find this setting, then try adding this CSS to Theme Options> Advanced Settings:
.footer-widget .widget_search h3 { display: none; }You can remove the search placeholder text by going to Theme Options> Language Settings and find “Search Placeholder Text.” If you just place a space there, it will appear blank when viewed on your front end.
As for switching the side of the search icon, I’m not really sure how to do that. I’ll let you know if I figure it out, but Ben or Hannah may know.

This tutorial should outline the process for configuring a right to left language:

In forum: Virtue ThemeAnonymousOctober 23, 2017 at 12:22 pm #164790Hello,
I was working on this page (*Login to see link and got help on it earlier today (see *Login to see link
I’ve now got space between two other widgets in the row and again can’t figure it out.
Help please!
Thanks,
RachelIn forum: Virtue ThemeAnonymousOctober 23, 2017 at 10:48 am #164768Hello.
I’m working on a page at *Login to see link
On the page, using Page Builder, I have a row that has 3 columns. I want all of the content in the middle column to have a background color and the areas in the first and third column to be blank. Essentially, my goal here is to have a colored box in the middle of the screen with some content in it. So, if there’s a more elegant solution I’m open to it.
What I am after at this moment is to eliminate the space between the 2 widgets that are currently in this column. The bottom margin, gutter and padding are all set to 0. I’m sure there’s something simple to be done to resolve this, but can’t figure it out. Any ideas?
Thanks,
RachelIn forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Top Bar Widget not showing in mobile view
October 23, 2017 at 10:00 am #164759Topbar isn’t part of the mobile header. I would suggest you add it to the footer. Not sure how much traffic is going to need to change the language and have that option at the very top of your page but that certainly takes up prime space on a mobile device.
If you want to force the topbar to show on mobile you can use this css:
@media (max-width: 992px) { .outside-second, .outside-headerclass, .kt-topbar-left { display: none; } .kt-header-position-above { display: block; } }Ben
In forum: Ascend ThemeHi,
I am using the Google Language Translator plugin in the top bar widget. I can’t get it to show up in the mobile view. Could you please advise?
Thank you,
GayleIn forum: Virtue ThemeHello,
I have added a wpml language switcher widget to my header and I would like to arrange the placement of it.
I would like it to appear on mobile view between my company logo and the hamburger menu (uses is a plugin called taptap). The language switcher is below the menu, but I would like to bring it up on the same line, as shown in this photo:
This language switcher is also used in my desktop primary menu where it is used for navigation on the desktop view, so I would like to hide the header widget from view on the desktop version.
Could you please offer a bit of advice on how to accomplish this placement as shown in the image link?
Thanks!
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi, Mike!
Thanks for keeping in touch!
Regarding the double country dropdown, it seems there’s a compatibility issue with your Virtue Premium theme. I’ve tried switching the theme to Twenty Seventeen and the additional drop-down is gone. This is with Page Builder by Site Origin enabled.
Could you please contact your theme support regarding this issue?
Please let me know how it goes. Looking forward to your reply 🙂

If you have a single language site you need to use a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Primary Menu placement and Slider mobile view
Hi again, Hannah.
Regarding this topic and your advice,
2. In mobile view, I would like to place the language selection flags between the logo and the hamburger menu (a plugin called taptap). As shown in this image:
I would like to add it as a widget in my header but I can’t seem to find where to do this. In the widgets section, there is a topbar/sidebar/footer option but I cannot seem to find how to add the language switcher to my header. Could you offer a bit of advice as to where in the settings I can add it? Thanks very much.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Translate portfolio name
October 12, 2017 at 9:28 am #163147ok, You can’t translate a term slug on a live site. You only can have one option. Changing that slug would require that you flush your permalinks. And you can’t do that between languages.
What you can do is change the portfolio link page by using the string translation in WPML to translate “portfolio_link”. That would change which page is linked to in your breadcrumbs.

In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Translate portfolio name
Hi – we have the Ascend theme and in theme options have renamed Portfolio with Gallery slug and using Portfolio page titled Gallery
In French we have translated title of Gallery page to Photos, but the slug still says gallery
In Breadcrumbs the word Gallery still shows for parent page even if the language is French – where can I translate this term and slug?
