Hi everyone, I’ve been playing around for about a month now but I’m still new enough that I don’t quite speak the language, so apologies if this has been answered, I promise I did search the forum before posting this. I checked the YouTube tutorials as well, but I’m probably using the wrong language.

I’m building a simple blog with “latest posts” set for Homepage settings. I would like to insert a picture or graphic between the Archived Posts and the Header but for the life of me I can’t figure out how to do that within the theme.

I attached a picture and you can see the Archived Posts start just under the bottom border of the bottom row of the Header. In that space is where I’d like to break things up with a pic or graphic.

Can that be done within the theme (I now have Kadence Pro) or do I need to reinstall Gutenberg or Elementor?

Or do I need to build a static homepage separate from the blog archive and use that?

None of the Starter Templates are what I’m looking for, to the point I’m closer to what I want starting from scratch than trying to edit a template, if that makes sense.

Really appreciate any help with this. And any language lessons, too, if I phrased my problem in a confusing or misleading way.

Icon list does not work for rtl languages and everything looks ugly.

Hi Inga,
I apologize in advance if I’m misunderstanding. I think I’m getting confused by the language being used. By off canvas sidebar do you mean the off canvas area for the tablet/mobile header? Or something else? Are you wanting the same contents in your toggle widget area in your desktop header as the off canvas area in the mobile header? Is that correct? As it is set up right now in the customizer you have totally different contents enabled. Sorry, could you explain once more what the exact issue is? I’m sorry again for not understanding!

Hey Annette,
The strings you are talking about are likely theme translations. Right now the Kadence Theme has only been translated into a few languages so likely your language isn’t one of those and you will need to use a plugin like loco translate to translate the theme into the language you are using for your multiligual.

Not sure if you can compare themes but Blocksy recently came out with their pro model and I am shocked to see there are a number of things missing from Kadence that was included with Blocksy. While I can appreciate the extra plugins and Gutenberg blocks there are a number of things that Blocksy does right that I hope you will consider.

Here are a few things that I think matter:
multiple Headers which allows different headers on different pages using conditions
Duplicating header elementors/headers
Better header elements such as dividers, language switcher and desktop menu drawer
Icons in menus
display conditions for sidebars
white label

Hi,
Whatever multilingual plugin you are using to create a different language of your site would create a different URL of your post and that URL would then have it’s own amp version.

So what multilingual plugin are you using?

You should load the child theme’s text domain. To do that, add this hook on your child theme’s functions.php file:

function wpdocs_child_theme_setup() {
   load_child_theme_textdomain( 'my_parent_theme', get_stylesheet_directory() . '/languages' );

add_action( 'after_setup_theme', 'wpdocs_child_theme_setup' );

You are translating the attributes, the swatches are tied to the attributes for the product and are based on them.

I’ll put it on my list to consider if some workaround could be made to ignore the current products’ attributes and pull from the default language product attributes.

Hi,
If you go to the product in English or french and click “edit product” so that you are editing that language of the product you can set the swatches.

I setup the English so you can see.

I have a website, build with ascend theme. I saw in the docs that you kadence team is suggesting WPML for translating. So I bought a license for it. Now I am also using variation (image) swatches. In my default language this is working perfectly, but on my translated page, the images are gone all of a sudden. I contacted WPML for this issue (twice) and they (twice) said that I should contact plugin author as it’s probably not supported as it should be. They also logged in onto the website and did a checkup just in case and everything from WPML sides, looks okay.

So can you guys help me out here?
I’ll instantly will post a private reply with the link to a product with the issue where you can see it.

Hi Hannah,

Thank you! Weglot is quite exepensive unfortunately. I will see what Loco Translate and WPML does/costs and if i will have more questions i will return.
But for the moment, what can I do make a dropdown menu from top bar or menu bar with flags/languages names? Create menus entries with custom links? Can I add flags of the languages in the left of the languages names?
