Good morning,

I’m new to the Kadence theme and blocks. I’m using the free version at this time.

I have seen other posts asking about social icon options but they’re older and some of the requested icons are there.

I’m wondering how often the icons are updated.

I currently use HuemanPro as my theme and Nimble Builder free as my page builder. NB offers a dropdown feature instead of a limited list to add multiple social networks to pages using icons.

I’ve seen a past request for an Amazon icon and would also like to request GoodReads as I work with authors and having them would be quite beneficial instead of wasting two of three custom link boxes available.

With shifts happening in social media, it might also be beneficial to include social icons for Mastodon and BlueSky.

There’s also a new subscription platform geared for authors called Ream Stories to consider as it’s growing exponentially and is like Patreon, which you have an icon for already.

Again, I’m very new to the theme and haven’t fully explored the blocks yet either. However, having only 3 customizable options for social links is lacking when websites that have been around for many years (ie amazon and goodreads) aren’t included in the list.

Are there plans to update the list or possibly go to aomething more like NB where it’s a dropdown of hundreds of icons that can be used for generic links as well as social icons for many websites?

“The Post Grid is suddenly a “grid” layout instead of a carousel, and the grid wraps around into 3 rows which is excessive. How do I fix this?”
This seems like the slider/carousel scripts were not applied. Thus, the posts are shown in plain grid.

Does it also happen with another iPad? Probably, there are some settings on that specific browser preventing the sliders from working/initializing properly.

I’m so sorry for the delay.

Are these issues only happening on an Apple device? If you view the page on another desktop, are they still happening?

We had received similar issues before and it seems related to Apple’s settings. In Settings > Accessibility > Motion, turn off the “Reduce Motion” option.

I’m sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

This is rendered on the page to add dynamic CSS/styles (e.g. style settings from Customizer). You should see the function for it (dynamic_css()) inside the component.php file from the kadence/inc/components/styles folder.

I do not recommend removing this but I hope the codes from this PHP file will help you with your requirement.

Hi, Amber!

Do you have the Kadence Theme Pro add-on? If so, you can make use of the Hooked Elements feature to add or replace a page’s Hero section.

You will then need to add the blocks you need to recreate that section. For multiple columns, use the Row Layout block. Also:

• Image or Image(Adv) block
• Heading or Text(Adv) blocl=k
• Buttons or Buttons(Adv) block

If you don’t have the pro add-on, you can add the set of blocks at the top-most part of a specific page to act as a hero.

Sadly, the Info Box doesn’t have the dynamic option for the flip/secondary image. However, I have added a feature request on this page – https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-blocks/feature-requests/dynamic-image-option-for-the-info-box-blocks-flip-option/. You can add your vote and comment on additional information.

“is it possible to have some sort of lazy loading with background images, the way I’m using the section option in this example?”
There are plugins that can lazy-load background images as long as the style is inline. We have an option for inlining the background image in the Row Layout block but not for Section block.

I have set up a great shop page using shop kit, but there is one thing missing, the option to display excerpt. The products on the shop page have affiliate external links activated using shop kit option. I have checked the customize > woocommerce > product catalog menu options, but there is no toggle option to activate it. How can I display product excerpt on the shop page?

I have used the health check plugin to view the site with only the WooCommerce plugin activated. The problem persists in the Kadence theme, but goes away when I switch to Twenty Twenty-Four. I’m at a loss. Any ideas?

If you setup a page using the Ascend theme and on that page you have the SiteOrigin (PageBuilder) Video Player, plus the Ascend Image widget… everything seems to work fine… except when you click to close an Ascend image widget lightbox. Once closed the webpage moves (scrolls up) a bit and it needs to just close with no scroll.

Hi everyone.

We’re using the free version of Kadence theme and blocks with Gutenberg and are running into a problem in our header.
We’re trying to insert our search (Ajax Search Lite) into the middle of the bottom row of our header. We’re using the HTML element with the shortcode for the searchbar. The searchbar shows up but it’s much smaller than it’s supposed to be (we have it on our homepage as well where we can see the proper size). We suspect it’s the middle column of the bottom row that’s limiting the width, therefore making our searchbar smaller than it’s supposed to be.

Does anyone know any way to change that specific column’s width, or the correct way to address it using custom CSS?
We thought maybe changing the number of columns from 5 to 3 could help but we don’t know how and we’re not really sure if it would actually resolve the issue.

We’re working on a stage site so can’t provide a link.

Any kind of help would be appreciated.

Hi Jon,

I looked for different ways to achieve this, but it’s not possible using an automated built-in setting.

You could try creating an element template for your portfolio pages. Then, each portfolio page has a link custom field that you pull dynamically via the Image (Adv) block within the template.

Update: The following additional code was necessary to change the logo for mobile responsive (a.k.a. mobile logo).

Adding the width, revert-layer, was necessary… otherwise, the logo was too wide.
