Hi, yes I’ve been in there, problem is there is an archive page being used, but I cannot find it anywhere, it is not present anywhere I have looked for it, I just cannot see where the archive page is managed from. So, my next question is what should I do with the one that is showing up? I am using Pinnacle 1.1.5

Hello Ben,

I have a potential client that wants her website in English, French and Russian. I will be using the WPML plugin. I have no problem doing it in English and French, but I don’t know if doing it in Russian will create problems since it is a different alphabet. The admin will be in English. The client will provide the Russian wording; so my question is, do I just copy and paste whatever they send me on the page builder widget? Obviously, I will have no idea what is says, but can I copy and paste that kind of alphabet? Is there anything I should take into consideration when doing it? As usual, many thanks for your support.

Hey,
Yes that is how the plugin would work, it’s only targeting the main content… the area in the page where you can add content. It can’t target page template added stuff. Like the contact form or a portfolio grid. You would need to add everything through the content box itself. so that means using pagebuilder instead of a page template and a plugin like contact form 7 instead of the theme contact form.

Hi Justine, you can edit both these things in theme options > home layout. Select the second option under “Display a sidebar on the Home Page?”. And if you scroll to the bottom you can edit how the posts display on the home page (assuming your page is a latest post page).
If you’re wanting more content on your page that isn’t available in the home layout you can create a page and call it home then set your page as a static page in settings > reading.
As for the archives, you can go to posts > categories and create categories then assign your posts accordingly.

Hi no i realise what you say but for some reason it didnt work and im happy to go with whatever works so basically it works on the 3rd party plugin, other css worked in the advanced bit you mention but not that, anyway i will have a play with colours etc. The only other thing is that when you colour it you see the size of it and unless there is lots of content there it is just a small box, is there a way to make it display the length of the page by default?

Hi Oliver,
I think this is what you mean-

.single-article article .entry-title {
color: #888;
font-size: 30px;
background: #000;
}

Just paste it into your custom css box in theme options.
As for the archives, you can edit by going to to Posts > Categories. When you go in to edit a category page you should see Header Options where you upload an image, etc.

to clarify, this is an issue with the home page settings (home page doesn’t show up as a page in the ‘pages’ list) which shows my blog aka ‘news’. I can alter the news page settings to add a side bar and change layout of the posts showing but not on the home page.

Sure, http://www.fossilbeach.co.uk/shop/ i have a primary side bar set for all the shop pages strangely i just tried it and it worked but only when pasting the code into a 3rd party custom css plugin which to be honest i had written off a long time back as it didnt seem to work!! So perhaps i could change my request to a more comprehensive bit of code where i can define a border colour too with padding and where the colour fills the whole space regardless of the content of the side bar and just to be fussy define a different font colour

Hi, I have the Pinnacle theme running, I would like to edit play around with the text shown in the main header of a single blog post page. Not the title of the post itself. I can hide the title of a post but can’t seem to do it for the individual post page???

I probably should keep it for clarity, if so I’d like to change the font colour, size and text background colour. Should this be done in the Custom CSS?

Also, there appears to be an Archive page, but I cannot find where the settings are to begin changing elements, specifically the featured image in the header.

The title pretty much says it. I’m trying to recreate the blog style demo as a starting point for my blog/page. I might just be ignorant to some setting but I followed the instructions on the tutorial for recreating that page and the title/icon (it’s just text that I’ll use as an icon but I did upload an image to test it as well and it was doing the same thing) is aligned left of center rather than centered.

I’m assuming there’s something I’m missing but I’ve looked for a while and read through all the forum posts and couldn’t figure it out.

– Is there a way to add some shipping information below the shipping method selected in the CHECKOUT page? (transit duration, shipping company used…)

Hello,

There is a problem when you set this for contact page when you have attributes set at Contact page options, only the content is hidden, map and contact form stays visible. I also tried using [O_U logged_status=”in”]You only see this if you are logged in[/O_U], but you cant get all the content in.

Ahh, I got it in my head that “featured image” was not used for some reason. I think it was that in your help doc (http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue/) it doesn’t show adding staff – it just shows the staff grid page and “featured image” is not used on that page (of course). I get it now, and this will help me in a few other areas too – thanks.

Just to help me do things in the best way, can you also suggest where I would go to make that title font smaller?

No, on the “add new staff” page I’m just filling in a title, checking a “staff group” box, and hitting the “add media” button. Hmmm, my picture (media) had a title. . .

I added a title back to one staff person (Dr. Norbert Mchomvu) so you can see what it does.

Apologies in advance for what I’m sure is a quite simple issue – I’m just getting started with the Virtue Premium Theme and feeling my way around it now.

I want to create a staff page essentially like your demo page (*Login to see link except without any text – just photos and a title (their name) beneath them. As I add staff the title appears above the photo, and I’m just not sure of the best way to shift it to be underneath the photo. I also need to reduce the font size so it fits across the width of the photo.

I can do it manually by deleting the title and adding a caption under the photo, but then my display of staff posts becomes annoying to administer, since every entry is “(no title)”.

I hope this makes sense. Can someone just point me in the right direction?

side menu? you mean the little arrow at the bottom right of the page? You can change that icon but why add more? It’s a button and doesn’t function like a menu.
