Thanks for the reply guys!

OK, So I tried the plugin that Hannah recommended but unfortunately that is not the text that I was referring to. That is for a different feature.

I also tried loading the demo content that Ben recommened but I noticed that if I were to load this content, then it would overwrite all of my existing content… and I have spent days creating this site already.

Do you know if there is a simple option… or code that I can add somewhere from the demo content that I can replace with my own text and images for the sliding text area over the image on the home page?

What do you mean by custom page menu? Can you post a link?

Hey, so what you should do is set your page to a static page in settings > reading and choose “home”. Then go to theme options > home layout and enable “Latest Blog Posts.” Then scroll down to Home Blog Settings and there you can limit your posts to a set category.

Hi

I have just about built the page out with your beautiful theme.

I am using the Page Content option to show latest posts on the front page.

I am trying to only get it to show latest posts from a particular category, but am unable to get it to do that. It seems to be just pulling the latest posts from overall.

I have tried other options, but nothing where I could keep the ‘summary scrolling grid of posts’ look.

could you advise please

Hey, I just tested and it linked to the cart page. Try clearing your cache.

I have the Cart Total activated in the Topbar. It is a link, but it does not link to the cart – allabouttea.co.uk/dev/cart/. It links to the current page. I have checked that the cart page is correctly set in the Woocommerce settings.

Can you think what might be causing this?

Hmm, That is strange, In your page editor, can you right click? using chrome, in the popup click “inspect”. Check for javascript errors? Or send me a login:

I presented in the beginner track and showed the attendees how to implement some things manually instead of using plugins. For beginners, having easy ways to connect things like Google Analytics is critical. Yes, they could learn to set up a child theme, but if they are a business owner they need a theme that makes these things easy so they don’t spend any more time and energy on their site than absolutely necessary. You’ve done a great job building in those things that make their lives easier.

One thing that seems to be missing from Virtue is a box to place scripts that need to be on each page. For example, as an Amazon Affiliate I have to add a script so I put it in the footer box. Is there a better place to put things like that without making a child theme?

Hello Ben,

I have contacted my host and they have changed the site url and home fields to specify https which also matches the general settings in wordpress which both show https. As a result the mobile devices now load both ‘featured product’ and ‘blog posts’ on the home page which again I did not realise yesterday were also not loading. Also, I do not have any cache plugins installed on my dashboard that I am aware of.

So, at this moment everything works fine on a desktop but on mobile devices the icons do not load. Is there a work around? Would you consider looking at my wp dashboard if I provide my login details. I am at a loss at how to resolve this,

Hey, so unfortunately this is wordpress default. I think the purpose is for people to know that they need to login with their wordpress account. Otherwise you could just use a plugin and users would have to create a separate account for your site. Even the kadence themes login page shows the wordpress logo- https://www.kadencewp.com/wp-login.php

I actually am just starting to work on it again, trying to get it to look the way I have it designed in my head and have had it envisioned for months. Your theme is the first I found that I was able to understand and work with on my own, before I even upgraded to the premium…tech being my Achilles Heel as I literally knew nothing when I first started! lol I was so happy, since I loved the theme so much when I found it :). I now tell everyone about it as my first recommendation if building a WP site.
I put building it on hold back in March, but am now beyond anxious to have it done. Problem is, every time I’ve tried customizing it these past few months I have a problem and have to change most things back, at least for the time being. But what’s strange is, things have also been changing on their own. For example, I use to have thumb nail pictures for each of my “most recent” blog excerpts on the home page… now only one is there and the rest are text. I may be communicating a lot more with you in the coming weeks, so I’m already gonna apologize and say “thank you for being patient with me”. LoL
Anyway, sorry to go off topic. I kind of have a small list of things I wish I could talk to you about. Is it best to ask each as diff topic here, or is there a better way to communicate with you about my overall website?

I reinstalled the theme, and it’s almost working. No more white pages, different problem came up.

I tested this on a separate browser. Now my domain.com page loads wrong (content spacing off, header not loading slider), but domain.com/wp loads perfect.

I did change the homepage to a static page, but still comes up wrong.

I tried to change the site Site Address (URL) in general settings to domain.com instead of domain.com/wp , but also fails.

Hey Mark, that’s only a built in option for the homepage. You would have to code it in if you wanted the same feature on other pages.
