In forum: Virtue Theme
Hello all,
I recently purchased the Virtue Premium theme and I would like to add a horizontal navigation bar at the top of the page in the header section. I have some C/C+ programming experience, but none with CSS or HTML to this point. I don’t see the same source code in any of the .php files when I go to ‘Appearance’ -> ‘Editor’ in the WP dashboard. The code in all of the files looks much shorter than what i’ve seen in demos online.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Yes, you caught me: I was copying-pasting the text onto the page from the old site. However, I went back and typed in the heading “from scratch” and applied the H2 formatting on two of the headings; the first one stayed black and the second one turned blue. I have tried copy-pasting the blue one to where the black one is, making a new heading above the old one, removing the formatting and applying it again – black. Should I start all over again, re-make the page or something?
Also: I have created two groups of testimonials: one group (Testimonials) is for short segments, the other (Featured) is two longer, more important pieces which I am featuring in a testimonials grid on the Clients Say… page. I have pictures for these two, which I would like to have instead of the quotation marks, just for these ones. How do I do that?

September 30, 2014 at 3:35 pm #18810“On default, my whole site will not load..”
That is very very strange…
Hmm.. ok
Looking at your site it looks like you started with “http://www.margrietkats.nl/wordpress/”Then you must have changed the site url but you didn’t do it through a transfer that would have pointed the domain to the wordpress folder.
Try this. Create a page, make the page the portfolio template. In the page settings select to only show portfolio items in the category you want. Then test and see if that page gives your access to pagination.

September 30, 2014 at 3:24 pm #18808In the theme options > shop settings. Scroll down to the Product Image Sizes:
Make sure you have enabled “Enable Product Image Aspect Ratio on Catalog pages”
In the theme options > shop settings. In the top “Shop Archive Page Settings”
Make sure you have enabled: “Product Image Flip”.

I’m not sure where you’re looking. If you’re in your wordpress admin area select pages on the left. From there find the page that you’ve set as your home page. When editing that page do you see a page-builder option? The social widget is not default, it was somehow added.

September 30, 2014 at 2:55 pm #18800Hey,
The flip will only work if you use the theme images sizes in your archive pages. You can have whatever settings you want for the single product page but if you want the flip in the archive you have to use the theme settings so that is adds both images and makes each image the same size.Kadence Themes

Yes, I am constructing now.
The icons are not the ones that I have chosen (except the home icon). For example, for the portfolio, it is supposed to say “Our Work” and have the icon-palette. It has neither.BTW- I went to the https://www.kadencewp.com/support/ page, the first reccommended video on your list is no longer available (rats.)
Thanks.

September 30, 2014 at 12:41 pm #18783your site is in construction mode?
The icons on the demo page are the theme icons? I don’t understand?

The icons that were on the demo page.
http://www.tildegraphicdesign.com/In forum: Virtue ThemeAfter working hard to develop a site in Virtue, our company shelved it for a while. At the time, it was at version 1.7.x
We always had a problem seeing the wpadminbar in the header, and I thought, “maybe I should take this opportunity to upgrade, and maybe the bar will even be there!”
Followed these steps:
1. Exported the settings
2. Switched to another theme (twenty-thirteen) to avoid locks or whatnot
3. “Removed” the old theme by renaming its folder to _virtue_premium but maintained my virtue child theme as it was
4. Uploaded the new theme
5. Activated my child theme (which activated the new Virtue 2.6.4)
6. Imported settings.A lot of the site was broken, but that’s sort of expected… CSS conventions change; layout manager changes… can’t expect a perfect transfer when the whole reason for upgrading a theme is to improve upon it!!
But what was not expected was when I click “Theme Options” in the wpadminbar from viewing the site, I get the error:
“You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”
If I go to the Dashboard, I can then select Theme Options. But I can’t access it via wpadminbar.

September 30, 2014 at 10:58 am #18762ok cool, I now see that on the page. What is the issue? Your images are not extending beyond the columns and because you are not using a full width page template your images are hitting there max width at 189px in the columns.

September 30, 2014 at 10:51 am #18760It’a all about when you add the image to the page, doesn’t matter what you settings are for the image in general. what matters is when you clicked the add to post button was the radio button selected on show full or thumbnail.
Just add another image and look for the size once you select an image and you’ll see what I mean.

I have this page set-up and have a custom image size uploaded (250×250), but on the site it shows up as a thumbnail size.*Login to see link
Is there a setting I am missing to enable a custom size to be displayed instead of thumbnail?
Thanks!!
