In reply to: Slider on Portfolio page
July 8, 2014 at 11:18 am #12456So why not use the portfolio posts to show your images? then create a portfolio grid page?
Else you can use the virtue: gallery widget and make the images a slider. or use the shortcode for a gallery and make the type a slider.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: CSS code for widget text box font size
I have been using Page Builder to “build” the page because the Virtue Portfolio pages don’t seem to use Page Builder – If it were possible, I would rather use the portfolio page because it can have a “type” assigned to it but I would like to be able to have the images around the text – three above and one on either side. Is it possible to do that in terms of formatting where the images go on the portfolio page? – or – Even if I could simply “wrap” the text around the images instead of only breaking the text with images above and below text.

no never used a child theme. are there any tutorials on this please? I really do want that to be an active link.
Also, one niggly thing. In my top navigation bar I have 6 options but if you hover over the right hand side ‘contact’ option, the background colour doesn’t reach the edge and doesn’t seem to fit the page dimensions properly. Is there a fix for that? thanks Justine
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: CSS code for widget text box font size
This is a link to the page I am working on. If it works out – then I would be creating lots of similar pages with the text in the middle and images around it.

I am not sure how to surround the text in a div with inline styles…..would I just add this to the text view?
I just tried that – I went to the view and put in the div code – then I looked at it in the view window and it was smaller. Then I saved/updated the page and it updated but it flipped back into the page builder view (which is how I created the page) and the div code was gone…?
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Background
I am working on the following page. ( *Login to see link ). I am having trouble getting the right css to put a background behind the product images on the page. I am wanting to put a background behind all the products, not just each individual product. Is that possible?

Thanks for reply.
No it´s for my “Galery-Page”. http://www.werz-fotografie.de/sample-page
I want to have Galery Page with owerview of my albums (wedding, portrait, childern etc.). If you click on that, then you move to the album(wedding, portrait, etc). Your “Landscape slider” looking exactly like what I want.
Actually I have the revolution slider also on Gallery Page, but I want to have it like you have it on your page here:
http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/portfolio/In forum: Virtue ThemeDoes anyone know the CSS code that I can use to make the font size smaller (say size 10) in the Widget Text box: for arbitrary text or HTML.
I am using Page Builder and I have a text box with image boxes on either side – but I would like the text to be a little smaller.
Thanks

July 8, 2014 at 7:05 am #12426Hey the “landscape slider” is a portfolio post with the post summary set to slider. So I’m not sure it’s what your looking for. Is this for you home page?
If you want to set up a portfolio page there is a tutorial here: https://www.kadencewp.com/creating-a-portfolio-page-with-virtue/

In forum: Virtue ThemeJuly 8, 2014 at 6:55 am #12422You can look at your page. Using the inspect tool in chrome or firefox and seeing what css is being used for an item. There isn’t anyway to list everything, it’s too much, but the browser does it for you. Here is a video about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnWL2d9bGPk

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Change "Go to Paypal" Button
Hello,
I want to change the “Go to Paypal” Button in “Pay” (or similar).
Normally the customizer plugin of woocommerce does the change (in Checkout/Submit Order button), but when I refresh the page I see for one second “Pay” and then it changes into “Go to PayPal”.Can you help me, please?
Kind regards from Spain!
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Slider on Portfolio page
Hi Ben,
I´m actually create my website for photography and have some issues to create a slider like you have on your portfolio page(Landscape slider):
I need exactly the same for my different galleries. How can I create the same like “Landscape slider” (which slider do you use for it, Revolution, Cyclone or Cadence) and how can I add URLs and captions to that slider to navigate to other pages. Here you can see how my website actually is. It´s “Revolution Slider” actually, I like it but it´s really slow.
Thank you a lot for your help!

July 8, 2014 at 12:17 am #12408If you use the built in category page then woocommerce will automatically create the pagination so there would be a set number on each page and you would have number links in on the bottom of the page. You don’t get that with shortcodes. Again, I recommend you use the categories.

In forum: Virtue ThemeBen, sorry, can’t figure this one

The slider selector and the product categories title are lapping over each other

We did talk about this before. But because I had to start over, I couldn’t remember exactly what I did before. Thank you for refreshing my memory. I like the shortcode method. It is easy and works well. I will bookmark the link you gave me. What happens if you happen to have 100 items under the same category? Is there a way that you can set a limit for each page? Or, are you stuck with them all on one page?
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Slow loading
July 7, 2014 at 11:08 pm #12398Most of the theme code is minified, for example the css is minified but for optimal speed you want all the theme and plugins you are using to be minified together and cached, That is done using the w3 total cache settings. If you click on general settings you should be turning off page caching, minify, database, object and browser caching.
Servers have everything to do with speed. Much more than any other part of your site. It doesn’t mean the server is bad if there is a delay just means something isn’t optimizing right. Do you have all the settings turned on your w3 total cache?
