In reply to: Products displaying on page
July 7, 2014 at 10:57 pm #12397Ok I think we’ve talking about this, I have stated that the best is to use woocomemrce add your products and create categories for them. The woocommerce automatically create pages for those products for each categories.
If you don’t want to use that method you can use shortcodes to show products woocommerce has a lot and one that will work to show just one category:

July 7, 2014 at 10:06 pm #12389I suppose it could be an issue with the span tag because it’s setting the white color. Try this:
.handgun-gallery-page-1 .widget .textwidget a:hover span { color: #656565 !important; }Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Products displaying on page
I created this page to display a certain brand of products. ( *Login to see link ). I have some of my products created, but can’t seem to get them to show up on the page. I have looked at all the widgets but can’t seem to find the one that works for me. I will be creating different pages for different product types. What do my page settings need to be at for this to work?
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Help! Site broken?
ok, problem solved. i entered through ftp and deleted the part that caused the white-out. Still haven’t managed to edit the check-out page though (the part that i can’t access with check out manager)
So i created a woocommerce folder within the child-theme, and then a check-out folder, there i copied the form-checkout.php. But i can’t find the relevant parts that i have to change. I want to change the name of the fields for address and city…
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Help! Site broken?
I tried to customize the woocommerce check-out page. So i created a child theme and tried using <?php get_template_part( $slug, $name ); ?> to get a folder that i can edit.
Now the site is completely gone. Is it because i activated the child-theme?
What can i do now?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Ben,
Thanks for your answer!
I deactivated the cyclone slider and that seemed to speed things up when I tested the site. However, the speed test results still remains the same (the page size is smaller but the time is still the same).
How can I minify my css and javascript easily without a custom hack in the raw php files? (which might be overwritten/removed when an update is installed)
I thought that kind of optimisation was already done as part of the theme.Regarding the wait time, I tested my normal site, moid.se, and that site doesn’t seem to have the same wait time as my wordpress site (66ms vs 1670ms).
Both sites are hosted by one.com, but I find it hard to believe that the slow loading would be an issue on a server level. (I’ve got multiple WP sites hosted by them and I’ve never experienced any loading issues before). In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Blog Question
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi,
Is there a way to adjust the initial “add to cart” button color before the mouse hoovers over it? What about the font color?
I would like to make this page’s “add to cart” (*Login to see link look more like this one (*Login to see link
Is there also a way to adjust the color of the “hoovering color” when the mouse goes over a product?
Thanks.
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: different appearance of widgets in footer
July 7, 2014 at 8:49 am #12357Hey,
So if the image size is 1260px then before when you added it to the page it would have forced the size to be smaller because the max width is 1140px.
Not that it is set as a background you want upload an image whatever size you want. So since the image is 1260 it’s showing at that size and thats why it’s larger.Ben

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: different appearance of widgets in footer
thanks, that worked a treat. Is there a way to have my full width image which appears above the 3 footers as part of the footer to save me having to put it in every page via page builder. It won’t appear on the blog pages otherwise. thanks Justine http://www.thepoppiessingers.com
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Translate Homepage (Icon menu) with WPML
July 7, 2014 at 7:56 am #12345You would use the icon menu shortcode, and translate everything though the the home page content. Pagebuilder really makes this easy.
https://www.kadencewp.com/creating-a-home-page-with-virtue/
https://www.kadencewp.com/using-page-builder-virtue-premium/
so with the icon menu you just create columns in page builder then add the icon menu shortcode to each. Just click “virtue shortcodes”.

July 7, 2014 at 7:50 am #12344Hey so using polylang the easiest way to translate is to use pagebuilder to create your home page instead of using the theme options panel. Here is a tutorial:
https://www.kadencewp.com/using-page-builder-virtue-premium/
You can add shortcodes by using the “virtue shortcodes” button.

July 7, 2014 at 3:58 am #12314Correction: I am now using polylang, much easier to work with. But I am still not getting how to translate the “homepage”. I have searched for similar threads, and can see that you talk about short codes? But where do I find the short codes and where do I post them?
The site is: http://www.chimalayacharity.com
Thanks 🙂
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Slow loading
Hi,
I’ve installed the Virtue premium and added all of my content.
To my disappointment, the site seems to be loading very slowly.
First of all, the Kadence Slider took 5-10 seconds before displaying the first slide. I tried to reduce the image sizes (to about 100kb) but it was still just as slow. Instead I changed the whole slider and used the Revolution Slider, which loads instatly.
However, the Featured Products and Latest Blog Posts still takes ages to load, at least 5-10 seconds. Which means that the slider loads and starts animating, while the rest of the page remains blank.
The site can be found here: *Login to see linkI just tried installing W3 Total Cache (and changing the settings as recommended by the developers), but the site is still slow…
Is there any way to speed things up? I cant have the users waiting for 10 seconds before browsing the site =/
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi,
On my Woocommerce products page, I can’t seem to change the color of the font for the “description” of products. The “title” of the product is white and I’m trying to adjust the “description” to match.
Also, there is a grey background where the product title/description is. Is there a way to make it translucent, so the textured background of my page shows?
You can view it here: *Login to see link
Thanks.
