Topic: Page builder visual style
Hey Ben,
Do you know what the optimal picture width is for the “wide feature” class in the visual style. It doesn’t seem to change the appearance when using varying pixel widths as the background image. I just want to make sure that I use a smaller picture size if the bigger one is unnecessary. Thanks. In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Moved: home page post navigation
May 15, 2014 at 3:15 pm #9029Hey,
So to do that you have to set your home page as the latest post page in wordpress settings > reading. Then in the theme options > home layout you need to enable the “page content” module. and that will be your latest posts.

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi,
i prefer to get a Page Navigation like [1][2][3][4] directly on the home-page under my posts. But I don’t see in the theme options any button to activate such a post-navigation. Therefore i get my 8 default posts on the home-page and that’s all. Do you have any idea?

May 15, 2014 at 1:32 pm #9022Hey,
First what are you adding? This isn’t css:So if your adding it to the custom css box int eh theme options that won’t work without adding the closing style tag.
But from the page it doesn’t look like your putting it in the custom css box in the theme options so where is “customer css”.
and lastly why are you not using the theme options to load the font. Montserrat is an option in the typography settings.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn forum: Virtue ThemeIf I try to navigate from a woocommerce product category page to a product subcategory on a mobile browser, the mobile browser (safari in my case) just reloads the same product category page you were on and not the correct product subcategory. This behavior only occurs when I click on the (sub)category images. If I navigate by clicking on the subcategory in the sidebar (which is located below the category images on the mobile version of the theme), I get directed to the correct page.
my site url is *Login to see link .
An example of a product category page is: SlaapkamerIt’s all in Dutch, so I hope my description is clear enough. 🙂
Any ideas?

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Show captions for featured images
Hi Ben,
Thanks for the reply… I just wanted to be able to add a caption to the featured images and have it show. I don’t care about it showing on the main blog page, but when you click the post it would be nice to be able to show them. An example would be under the featured image here: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/outdoor-adventure/. Right now is the caption being hidden from featured images through custom css? Or is it more complicated than that? Thanks!
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn forum: Virtue ThemeWe have a few “blind” pages in our website that aren’t linked anywhere in the site. These pages are only accessible via link in an email we send to a customer or via our software. Unfortunately, these pages come up in the search results on the site if a visitor enters the right search query. How can I prevent these pages from being shown in the search results?
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Post background
May 14, 2014 at 2:11 pm #8968You can add this to your custom css box in the theme option > advanced settings. For the blog summary page:
.postlist article { background: #fff; }and this for the single post:
.single-article article { background: #eee; padding: 20px; }Ben

May 14, 2014 at 11:17 am #8959ben, when I compare this site with my site there is a discrepency in the width of the content. I don’t see any blank space on the right and left side of my page. Perhaps 992px translates to full screen.
Could you compare the two sites I linked to?
And also, the code you provided, will that resize all my pages (this is what I want).

May 14, 2014 at 11:07 am #8955Ok, it seems my site somehow reverted back to the original page size (check out the blog or about pages). On my screen the test runs all the way across the page.
I set the page to 940px (from the misc settings of the theme options). and a few days later it looks like it’s now ignoring that code. I clicked off and then on again and saved it but on a 17 inch monitor, the content uses the entire screen.
Here is a screen shot of what I see. I’m wanting to cut the size of the page by 1/3.

May 14, 2014 at 10:07 am #8950Like I said above you need your seo plugin to add the right meta tag for facebook to take the featured image. Yoast SEO does this by default.
As for automatically getting the page link I don’t know of a way without using php which means your back to a plugin.

You would add this while on the text tab:
<!--nextpage-->Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Number of MenuItems and some more
May 14, 2014 at 9:40 am #8946Hey,
1. Theme options > menu settings. Secondary menu… you can change the item amount to 7.2. So if you create a feature page (using the feature template) then you uploaded an image while editing that page it creates a attachment in wordpress. So if you removed the featured image but didn’t change your page template or replace the image it would show the attachment image because while using a feature template it first looks for a featured image then looks for attached images. So if you can replicate have you tried just switching the page template?
3. Have you looked at the docs: http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue/#featurepage
A simple rundown.
Blog template for a blog page.
Portfolio for a portfolio page.
Contact for a contact page.
Feature for a page with a slider, image or video above the title
Feature – sidebar for the same as above except with a sidebar
Fullwidth for a normal full width page
sidebar for a page with a sidebar.4. add this css to your custom css box in the theme options:
.page-header { display:none; }Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: MORE – Tag
In forum: Virtue Theme1) Please take a look at wp.romanakreppel.at and look at the main Menu (Über mich – Kinesiologie ….)
As you can see the 7th item (Kursangebot) has dropped down in the next line.
Is there a limitation of 6 menu items? How can I influence that?2) Deletion of thumbnails – A BUG ?
I created a page yesterday called “Ernährung”.
I added a thumbnail to that page.
I was unhappy with the result
.. so I deleted the thumbnail agein
.. but it still appeared in the browser
.. i predes F5 for refreh
I deleted all content of the cache
I even changed to an unsed browser
the thumbnail was still thereSolution:
I deleted the page, I delted the menu Item
I recreated the page (without thumbnail)
I added it new to the menu… problem solvedThis is is reprocucable…
3) You offer so many templates for each page.. I looked into the man.. do you have examples? Which template do I use for what result?
4) how can an make the heading for pages invisible?
I thank you very much
