In reply to: Woocommerce Image Sizes
Ok let me rephrase my question then, I removed the plugin but I want the details product image to not be sized down and if I set the size in woocommerce products settings it crops the image. I need the image to be larger scale on the details page and right now the image shows just as big as the thumbnail, It solved the catalog images page now works perfectly just having issues with the details page. What do I need to do to have the product image on details page to be a larger scale without being cropped or sized in anyway??? Thank you.

March 15, 2014 at 3:18 pm #6260Well it look like you are using a plugin for the product page images so you will need to check the plugin settings but without the plugin you would just edit the image sizes in woocommerce settings > products tab. Then make sure you regenerate thumbnails.

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Various problems…
Hi Ben,
hope you can help me!I’ve tried to instal virtue premium (both ways, via wp and via ftp), but the result is blank pages, and I cannot uninstal it from wp ’cause it’s blank too, so I have to do it via http://ftp..
it’s a shame cause i’ve paid for it but if you cannot help me it doesn’t matter.. I’ll use the free one..
BUT
now I’ve re-install the virtue free… and …. shop page is not showing all my products (only one), in the cart page something is missing.. so… I can’t understand where is the problem..thanks

March 15, 2014 at 12:28 pm #6255In the theme options > shop settings turn off the product images crop for both the shop and product pages. Then in your woocommerce settings, click on products tab and set your product and catalog sizes, then make sure the hard crop is not checked next to the sizes. Lastly rebuild your thumbnails with a plugin like:

I want to better control the images in the woocommerce cart – they are all one size and I am selling paintings that are different sizes – so how do I allow the cart to not crop the images on the cart page and the cart detail page? You can look here: *Login to see link
The image aspen forest is taller than it is wide so how do I tell the cart to not crop the images at all and just use full size that I provide? In forum: Virtue ThemeHi Ben,
now I close to integrate the shop with my blog and I would like to include products into blog posts. There are two options using the woocommerce shortcodes [product id=”” sku=””] and [add_to_cart id=”” sku=””].
My problems are:
1. The [product id=”” sku=””] is using the same layout as the columned layout of the shop page. If I have 4 columns in the shop, the product included into a blog post is using only 1/4th of the width. But I would like to show the images in a bigger scale!2. When I use the shortcode [add_to_cart id=”” sku=””] the design is ugly. I has a big frame around and is always aligned left. Is there a chance to get all the details like title, price, VAT and the “add to cart” button centered below the image with this shortcode (or another custom build shortcode)?
I would like to do it by my own, but I didn’t find the file where to add the shortcode and what I have to add into that file!
Thanks for any help.
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi Ben,
I have tested some of the site on both android standard and chrome browsers. I will limit the length of review in this post to most immediate performance otherwise it will be like a long-winded production booklet. Overall the performance and functionality worked well in both android browsers.
Android Chrome Browser
No swipe on homepage Revolution slider – need to navigate with arrows.
Icons/ descriptions and background colours work on touch (homepage).
Featured Products carousel images (homepage) – respond to swipe in both directions & touch to navigate to a product page.
Main Product image on product page responds to touch to open a light-box gallery.
Related Products (product page) responds to swipe and touch to open a product page.
Featured Projects carousel images (homepage) – respond to swipe in both directions & touch to navigate to open a Project/ Portfolio page. However, the image slider feature for portfolio image within the Featured projects carousel (e.g. Landscape Slider) – requires use of the navigation arrows – which seems to navigate straight to the project/ portfolio. (lack of control of the image slider of the project/ portfolio image within the featured project carousel)
Landscape Slider – Colors (Project/portfolio). image slider is responsive and responds to swipe and touch to open a lightbox.
Video portfolio works – within the page and in full-screen mode.
Coffee portfolio – tabs within the page work. recent projects carousel respond to swipe and touch to open a project / portfolio page.
Hot-Air Balloon – image is touch responsive to open lightbox.
Portfolio page navigation arrows work.
Surfing Images – image slider responsive to swipe and touch to open lightbox. recent projects carousel responsive to swipe and touch.
Sailing – Gallery responsive to touch – lightbox opens and can navigate the images within the gallery – utilising touch to go to the next image or use the arrows for forward and reverse navigation.
Shop – option to filter products works. touch to go to product e.g. Huntsman T-Shirt – main product image responsive to touch – opens lightbox gallery.
Tabs working within products pages. Description | Additional Info | Reviews | Product Video
Related Products carousel responds to touch and swipe.WordPress Gallery (android chrome browser) the only gallery with a problem is the carousel gallery – it responds to swipe but doesn’t respond to touch properly. the lightbox opens by touching the image edge within the carousel (e.g. top of image)
Image Carousel Post – navigate the image with arrows – no response to touch/ swipe.
Standard Android Browser
Revolution Slider responds to swipe in both directions and arrow navigation.
Featured Products carousel – responds to swipe in both directions and responds to touch to open a product page.
e.g. Adventure Pack – image touch responsive and opens lightbox.
Related Products carousel responds to swipe and touch open product page.
Featured Projects Carousel – carousel images respond to swipe and touch to open project/ portfolio page
Landscape Slider image slider within choice of Featured Project Carousel is not controllable. trying to navigate the inner slider image just opens the project/ portfolio.
Landscape Slider (portfolio) – image slider on page responds to swipe and touch to open lightbox.
WordPress Gallery (standard android browser) – All galleries work and respond to touch to open a lightbox. where relevant, all galleries respond to swipe.
in Landscape mode – the Carousel Gallery shows two columns – but the right side navigation arrow is partly on the image and the margin.
in Portrait mode – the right navigation arrow is in the margin.I have not fully tested the shopping experience. navigating the processes seemed to work e.g. add to cart, checkout. I had to use the minus button to make the choice of zero to empty the shopping cart – there is no empty cart button showing within the mobile browser.
I hope some of these notes are useful for the browser development compatibility.
P.S. Thanks before we get lost in the analysis and developments. version 2.2.4 resolved some of the issues referred to at the start of this post prior to release of that version e.g. Filter products in the WP admin back-end.

Thanks for your tolerance Ben. As you said (twice) that was the problem, I just didn’t understand as I thought the “Posts page:” box was relevant to the front page. I’ve now just left it as “–Select–“. Is that the correct option?
Your support is greatly appreciated.
Cheers

March 14, 2014 at 12:15 pm #6226Did you make the blog page your latest post page in the wordpress settings? Like I said above that would override the template settings.

March 14, 2014 at 11:30 am #6224Check this tutorial out: https://www.kadencewp.com/creating-a-blog-page-with-virtue/
Just have to go into the edit page and change the setting there, not a post option a page option.

March 14, 2014 at 10:48 am #6213on the blog page itself you can make it full post, using the blog template meta options: http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue/#blogpage
Just a reminder don’t make your latest posts page in the wordpress reading settings your blog page, that will override the template options.

Hi Ben
I am trying to add a Blog page using Blog page temmplate. This is not my font page. Is it possible to have the full posts shown in the Blog rather than just showing excerpts with the ….Read More option. Under Blog Options I can change from 20 up to 80 but I can’t find an option to display the whole post in the blog.
Cheers

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi Ben,
I’m attempting a redirect of my shop page if the user tries to go there and they’re not logged in. I’ve done this successfully before using the plugin Groups and the snippet of code from this blog in the archive-product.php as shown here: *Login to see link
For whatever placing this in the top of your archive-product.php file has no effect. I imagine it’s because of the level of customisation and changes across the history of your template that things aren’t called quite as woocommerce out of the box is.
I’ve tried placing it in a few other places but to no success. I was hoping you might be able to steer me in the right direction.
Oh, and yes I’ve tested it’s working by trying another theme and it works fine.
Thanks

Further stumbling around forums and I have figured out where this went wrong. I had set the page to www. rather than just the domain name. Now that I have removed the www. the icons show. Is there a way that I can get the icons to show and have www. before my domain name?
Thanks

March 13, 2014 at 11:47 am #6181So a couple questions jus to check that we are on the same page:
1. When you click sort in the admin all the products are in the correct order?
2. You’ve cleared any caching?
3. You don’t have any extension plugins for woocommerce?
4. All your products are the same height so they order left to right. (if you have titles that are longer change the min title height in the shop settings of your theme options)Ben

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Slider to Home Icon Menu Spacing
March 13, 2014 at 8:06 am #6164in the theme options, home page settings, move page content to disabled, your home page has a bunch of space in the text area.
As for the width, since you don’t have a slider that is wider why not make the whole layout narrower? theme options > misc settings. Max width.
