    Hi, Ben –

    Thanks for all of your help so far you’re so responsive and the forum is so helpful. I’ve searched the forum but haven’t seen (or missed) an answer to this. Since I want custom icons, I’m using the home icon menu as my main nav on my homepage (this is a test site, very much still in the works: feedmecreativeclients.com). However, they’re a little big. I tried adding the following code to the custom CSS, but it didn’t help. Any other ideas?

    .home-iconmenu a {
    max-height: 200px;
    }

    I also tried uploading icons at 200 x 200 px but that made no difference in the size.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

    I am just completing a project for a client at http://www.webtechsolutions.ca and they have requested that the images in the custom carousel on the home page, link to anchors in the content on the services page. I was able to edit the code in the content on the services page to insert the anchor names but I can’t figure out if there is a way to insert the reference link for the images in the carousel.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    K

    Changing to the external product did the job. I haven’t nor do I intend to set up links so that doesn’t come into play in my site plan. And I didn’t change any settings in shop page, so a ‘Read More’ button does not appear. I do recall though before I set items up as external product as you suggested if I didn’t have a price loaded yet, ‘Read More’ substituted in for the ‘Add to Cart’
    The bottom line is this works for me, so no need for the css. Thanks again.

    Looks like you have empty menu items, like you removed pages or changed pages. Check your menu and resave it.

    Of course metaboxes, didn’t know the name of all the choises at the top of the page. I close and open them all the time. Also I tried the featured template and now it works fine. Thanks!
    🙂

    Can I unblock the page?

    #4349

    Ok! Thanks so much for this translation!! I’m gonna call this resolved. Then I’m gonna ask my question about which template is which in a new question.
    (I had found on the Page page that once I choose blog then some options open, so I was getting there, but you’ve helped with clarifying for me about the single post page.)

    Once you save the page with the template set to feature they will show up.

    This has steps: http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue/#featurepage

    I just removed the featured image before you get into.
    I added it now.
    Is it possible to show only the post title and Image without excerpt that in this case is another images again?

    Because the image in the excerpt is to be shown in category page. Thanks…

    The only way I see to do what you want is to hide the navigation for your home page with this custom css:

    .home #nav-main {
    display: none;
    }

    Then for the icon menu to move above the slider you actually need to think about it in reverse. Make the slider below the icon menu so using the rev or cyclone slider add the slider shortcode into the home page content area, Then in the theme options have the page content area right below your icon menu.

    1: Is it possible to remove the main nav from JUST the homepage with a shortcode? I’d like to use the icon menu in its place there only — which leads me to…

    2: Is there a shortcode that would allow me to place the icon menu above the slider on the homepage?

    Thanks!

    Thx Ben,

    don’t see the [custom_carousel speed=1000]

    [carousel_item]

    in the page? Is that a different shortcode?

    So [custom_carousel speed=1000] should make it 1 second between moves, right?

    Thx

    Does your page look like this: http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue/#portfoliogridpage

    hm. maybe i’m not. It shows as a grid on the portfolio category page, but I can’t find anyplace for a subtitle to go. There is a field for category description in the portfolio category editor- surely I could add code to a page template to make it display if there is content there?

    #4332

    Since you are using pages can you add the category description to the subtitle of the page? That should do what you want.

    Ok, Let me try and make sense of this.

    For your blog page with no sidebar create a blog page by following this tutorial : https://www.kadencewp.com/creating-a-blog-page-with-virtue/

    The to make the archive and category pages have sidebar set the option like you did in the theme options for BlogCategory/ArchiveDefaults

    To create more sidebars there is a place in the misc settings of the theme options to add more.

    This refers to the single post page: ThemeOptions/BlogOptions/BlogPostDefaults/BlogPostSidebarDefault so doesn’t effect the pages that show more than one blog post.

    Thanks for your quick response to my question.

    Oh wow, no, I did not know PageNavi was built in: that is terrific! This theme never ceases to amaze me. You have really spoiled us with this one.

    No, as long as I have the pagination like Page Navi I’m good to go.

    Thanks Again,
    Nancy

    I’m using the portfolio grid pages, sorted by category. Can you suggest a way to display the Category Description at the top of the page?

    #4321

    I experimented. It’s not the same place, changes made in Appearance/ThemeEditor on the VirtueP style.css page do not appear in the ThemeOptions/AdvancedSettings css place.

    #4320

    You can adjust the order of how the tabs show in the theme options > shop settings. bottom of that page.

    Does this fix your issue?
