In reply to: Footer Menu Not showing in Kadence
PROBLEM SOLVED!
Newbie mistake. All I had to do was go to;
Customizer > Footer > Click on a row, in this case, “Middle” > a pop-up window shows what can be selected, in this case, “Footer Navigation”…a batta-bing-a-batta-boom Legal beagle pages are on display
Wow! Kadence is soooo nice and easy to learn. Nice! \(*<>*)/In forum: Kadence ThemeHi.
I created a footer menu and added my legal pages.
Clicked Save
Purge cache
going to site there’s no footer menu.
What else do I need to do?
Screenshot link: *Login to see linkHi. Just got Kadence.
I’d like to add my legal pages, privacy, terms of use, etc, to the footer in the “copyright” (Customizer > Footer > Copyright HTML
How do I do this?
If it’s not possible, how can I add these pages to my footer?
I prefer to be able to add them ALL on one line: copyright date, site-title, legal pages.
Thank you. Standing by.

In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: WebP – Lightbox Issue
Ben – I turned it off in WP Rocket and on in Imagify. I autoloaded the cache and the result is I don’t see webP being used at all.
The lightbox works but it’s loading the JPG image file.
I tried a couple of things just to see if I could figure out what was happening.
If I turn off WP Rocket but leave Imagify on and set to serve WebP. It sort of works. The image on the page is WebP, but if I click it to view the image it loads a JPG in the lightbox.
But I was not able to activate WP Rocket and get it to work at all. I thought briefly maybe it was Cloudflare or the CDN I use. I deactivated both the CDN and Cloudflare. I still could not get WebP to load with WP Rocket active. It does load WebP if I use the option to load it in WP Rocket itself but not if I use the option in Imagify for whatever reason. It seems to create a cache of the page without the Imagify code. But if I use the WebP option in WP Rocket, then it breaks the lighbox so catch 22.
I’ve left the WebP option enabled in Imagify in case you want to look at the HTML it generates. If there are any other WP Rocket settings you want me to look at that you think could be causing the problem, let me know. I tried disabling a few and clearing cache but the same issue continued. I may not have hit the right one though I got tired of trying to guess what might be causing the issue.
As I said from the outset, this is not mission critical. I’d like to be able to take advantage of WebP but I’m in no rush if you have more pressing fires to put out.
Thanks again!

“should there be a static page full of css in the unused section of css on page speed insights if I add one theme element to my site it slows down to a crawl” – If you are not using CSS, you should remove it from your site
what remove what its the entire page
Oh! you’re referring to the page speed insights page, is that correct?
I was a little confused there
this here a thousand and one pieces of shit https://thriveonnews.com/_static/??-eJytkt1OwzAMhV+IzMDoxS4Qj1KliclM86c4WdW3J1kBUSTKVHFnJ8ef7SNPUZBXtmhkUMygiTMMNqhRWBqSTDNwni0eHPlDFdxNUajgM/oM0RZDnmEKQQXnMCmEKNUoDa4exZXHMBSyGi7odUgsFuy/IDdRThpSMullv69sa6E3zK0puKCLbY1JG8wMWKo0jITCymm7628IDoqkFVT16+QnKJ/R1boLpVywjwkdFQeSuVHaJsvPzjLxzcudiL4a2O8bncdmkcZXWWy+1UE+y4Raaj1fQ/Lmr8q+XvanxzaYwKvklgNow37ETfrinh+609Njd7o/du/Qhz6P
its also in unused css
this is what is slowing my site down
it is my entire theme
css what is it doing there
One moment please, I’ll be right back
cool thanks
Yes it looks like it’s displaying all of your site’s CSS code
And as my colleagues suggested I would also switch to a different theme – https://wordpress.com/theme/virtue_premium/support/thriveonnews.com
yep been trying to get someone to see that for ages thanks
so it is the theme yes
Ben the theme developer will not listen to me I talked to him for days
what if I but a new theme and the same thing happens frightened don’t know what to do
I can understand your concerns, and we can try our best to assist you with your site’s speed and performance
why is that css there is it the theme or wp?
please help
The CSS is theme related
whos putting in the wrong place code wise ben or wp?
Im a blogger not a coder
If you are able to switch themes to a WordPress.com theme, you’ll be able to see if that CSS code appears or not
not doing that its a live site with ads no way
could you answer this question for me whos putting in the wrong place code wise ben or wp?
I will consider a new theme when I find the problem
who is at fault
What code is wrong though? Because the CSS to style your site with the theme appears correctly and there are no error messages that appear on the site
What the you just saw the entire css file showing on page speed insights it should not display there please listen to me I can not put one theme element on it breaks site
it adds to that css file and bam it is slow as a wet weak
Can you tell me what theme element you’re referring to that breaks your site?
That file lists the CSS code that is needed for your site’s theme
anyone at alll I strpped my site bare of anything
If you switch themes, a different set of CSS code will appear in its place
I’m confused
deeply confused no other site has there entire css file for show
Then it is our recommendation to switch themes to a WordPress.com theme to make the comparison and to troubleshoot the issue. By switching themes, your ads will still on your site

July 11, 2020 at 4:40 pm #252840Hey,
I’m seeing your site load quickly around 800ms which is great. 38 requests and about half a MB so those are all good metrics. So if I understand you correctly you are specifically wanting google page speed to give you a good score? Is that correct?
Before I dive in, you should be aware that google page speed is not the end-all for what defines your site. Amazon as a different site for mobile than desktop purely to optimize their mobile experience and their page speed score is 56. Target runs a mobile site and their score is 23. Your score and the test, in general, is for developers/web creators to read and understand as a way to get insight. It’s not the end-all for defining if you have a good or fast site. Another example, the very simple google.com landing page only scores a 79.
Still, I can help with the score, first can you tell me which optimization plugin you are using? For example WP rocket is a good one. You will need a plugin that changes the way css loads on your site to force some css to delay loading and this is usually done through an optimization plugin. And you have to check (manually) every page to confirm there are no issues as it can break things.

In forum: Kadence BlocksJuly 11, 2020 at 4:04 pm #252834Thanks for posting, I’ve just pushed live a fix for this issue. version 1.8.7
Basically it would have only affected a page with a certain setting in the button. Thanks for reporting!

In forum: Kadence ThemeJuly 11, 2020 at 3:19 pm #252830Hey,
1. Comments can not show in an archive, they will only be visible on single post pages. Your home page is an archive (even though you’ve set it to only show one post per page) and so WordPress won’t output a comment input there.2. I don’t see the pages widget? Can you send me a screen shot so I can see what I’m missing thanks!

July 11, 2020 at 3:10 pm #252828Hey,
You have a javascript error in your admin. It seems to be coming from page builder by site origin and this issue is also something others are posting about on their forms using other themes.
The virtue theme (unlike the standard twenty-twenty theme) has meta box options that load in pages. Many other themes do this as well.
To confirm I checked on a page not using site origin and there wasn’t any issue.
I think you are safe for now to not worry about it I would assume site origin gets an update with a fix soon since it’s being reported on their forms.

This reply has been marked as private.July 11, 2020 at 12:48 pm #252819In forum: Kadence BlocksHi,
A site I manage had a critical error this morning after updating the Kadence Blocks – Gutenberg Page Builder Toolkit plugin.
Only the home page was affected (page id noted in the details below). I could still access the Dashboard and other pages. I was able to revert to a backup of the site from a few hours previous, so for now the page is back and the site is ok, but I can’t update the plugin again until I know that crash won’t happen again – and won’t happen on other sites I manage as well.
WP Admin sent an email notification, with specific details of the error:
Howdy!Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.
In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Gutenberg Blocks by Kadence Blocks – Page Builder Features.
First, visit your website (*Login to see link and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (*Login to see link and check for any visible issues.
Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.
If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.
To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Don’t worry about that, though: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after it expires.
When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
WordPress version 5.4.2
Current theme: Ascend – Premium (version 1.9.12)
Current plugin: Gutenberg Blocks by Kadence Blocks – Page Builder Features (version 1.8.6)

In forum: Membership ForumsTopic: Problem with Contact Form 7
Hello, I have the following problem, after updating my sites with new WordPress version 5.4.2., and both Virtue Premium 4.9.24 and Ascend Premium 1.9.12. and Contact Form 7 5.2. I have the following problem.
On pages where I have displayed Contact Form 7 form, when I change and save content, I want to go to other pages or to Theme Editor I receive the following warning:
“This page is asking you to confirm that you want to leave – data you have entered may not be saved – Leave page / Stay on page”
Changes to the page are made, but I get this message always.I tried to switch to default Twenty Twenty theme and the problem is gone.
Even tried to switch to the parent theme (I use child themes) but the problem is still there.
Can you please check what is going on. Will send you the login details to one page so you can test it by yourself, thanks Gabi-

AnonymousJuly 11, 2020 at 1:46 am #252807Hello there,
I am porting my old homepages to the new Kadence Blocks, but I am missing two importants assets.
Pinnacle: Call To Action
In the page builder layout was a nice and ready to use Call 2 Action asset. However, that is completely missing in the Kadence Blocks. Two columns,a button a pattern are not cutting it, and have to be customized again and again. Will that be added or did I miss anything?Pinnacle: Gallery
I can use the advanced gallery but not matter which arrangement of pictures I use, I cannot reproduce the wonderful old Mosaic layout. I loved the mix between the different rations 1:1 2:1 and 1:2. Any help how to get that back?In forum: Kadence ThemeJuly 10, 2020 at 9:42 pm #252806Hello,
I am setting up the homepage to show latest posts, with number of posts set to one in the wp reading settings.
There is numerical navigation at the bottom with links to previous posts, but the comments are not showing on the single post pages.
I have selected to show comments in the single blog posts options in the customizer.
The comments do show up when selcted from the blog posts in the post grid/carousel block.Second issue.
I am trying to style the navigation links in the pages widget in the posts sidebar to match the style in the primary menu… I can’t find any way to do that in the customizer? Thanks in advance for your help.
