In reply to: Lightbox or breadcrumb order for portfolio broken
December 28, 2019 at 2:13 pm #242527Hey,
Terms are tricky because there is not a lot of standards.Breadcrumbs are a series of links that usually show where a user is in comparison with the home page, for example on this topic:
Home › Forums › Virtue Theme › Lightbox or breadcrumb order for portfolio broken
A lightbox is used to show a popup containing a larger version of an image, you can see an example of a lightbox by clicking on one of these images: https://www.kadenceblocks.com/custom-blocks/advanced-gallery/
Theme navigation is vague “Portfolio Navigation Options” would be better to refer to and they determine how the navigation in your portfolio posts work.

December 28, 2019 at 9:39 am #242514Hey,
In your theme options > portfolio options, look under “Portfolio Navigation Options” there you can set the all projects page which will set that grid icon.As for the order it follows “menu_order” which means that you can define it regardless of when the posts were created. If you edit a post look on the right and fine page attributes, there you will see an order number. The lower the number (it can be negative) the higher it would be placed in the order list. So the post you want to be first is set with 0 then make the one you want to be second set with 1 and third 2.

In forum: Virtue ThemeI am not sure what the arrows in the right top are called I thought they were breadcrumbs. They sit to the right the title of the page and or the portfolio grid and have a right and left arrow with a grid in the center. I am sorry for my ignorance. I have turned off the breadcrumbs <theme options, breadcrumsb> and the lightbox <Misc Settings, theme lightbox> on my site because they do not follow the order that I need and I can’t figure out how to get them to do that. Also the middle grid errors out because I don’t know where to go to assign it to a location. No matter what I do the arrows are still on my portfolio pages (see image) All I want is for them to follow a particular order (I only have 3 portfolio pages) and for the main grid to return to the home page. Please tell me what I am doing wrong. My site is live and I have to be careful with updates. Thank you. – Lorian

This plugin adds custom blocks and options to extend Gutenberg’s editing capabilities so you can create custom layouts and more engaging content. This plugin is meant to be a toolkit that makes the WordPress block editor capable of creating content usually only possible through popular page builder plugins. For example, with the Kadence Row Layout Block you can better control columns for different screen sizes plus it gives you full row editing tools like padding, backgrounds, overlays with gradients, vertical-align and much more.Try Kadence Blocks

Video TutorialKey Block Features
The Row Layout block can have 1-6 columns, and any other blocks can be nested inside. So as a single column block, it’s a robust wrapper because you can create very custom backgrounds and define padding, margin, and dividers both for desktop and mobile layouts.
The Advanced Gallery block allows you to add photo galleries in a masonry, grid, carousel, fluid width carousel or slider style. Enjoy four different optional caption locations, each with options to style font, background, etc. Within each gallery, you can define the thumbnail ratio, add an image filter, set a border radius, and add box shadows. You can make each image a custom link to another page or website. Or you can easily enable a built-in lightbox. Plus you can select which image size to use for your thumbnails, and lightbox image for ultimate performance.
The Advanced Heading block provides full control for your headings, including font family (all google fonts), font weight, font style, font size (with tablet and mobile options), line height, color, letter spacing, alignment, and margin. Plus you can define part of the heading as a highlight and style it uniquely.
The Advanced Button block allows you to have up to five buttons side by side. You can control each individually, both with static and hover styles, and each button can have an added icon next to the text. This block even supports video links that open in a popup all built in!
The Tabs block is highly customizable with unique tab title settings for spacing, color, icons, and text. You can set up vertical or horizontal tabs, plus there are options to switch to an accordion setup for mobile. Each tab content is an empty canvas able to contain any other block within it.
The Testimonial block has four built-in preset styles to choose from and allows you to add a carousel or grid of testimonials right into your page or post. You can then customize the colors, fonts, size, border, and shadow to your liking.
The Icon block enables you to add an SVG icon right into your page. There are over 1500 icons to choose from, and with each, you can control the size, color, background, border and add a link.
The Spacer / Divider block allows you to optionally show a divider inside an area with a drag-able height. The divider has style options allowing you to set the width, height, color, line style, and opacity.
The Info Box Block is a box link containing an icon or image and optionally a title, description and “learn more” text. Configure padding, fonts, backgrounds, borders, and style static and hover colors even show a box shadow.
Editor Max Width
One of the challenges with creating column and row layouts in Gutenberg is the width of the editor in your admin. By default, Gutenberg uses a 650px max width for the content editor. When adding text to a sidebar template, this works great, as the max width in the editor is comparable to the content width when using a sidebar. However, for content going into pages where you don’t have a sidebar, it is a poor representation of what you are going to get on the front end of your site. Not to mention, it makes for a cramped space to work in if you are trying to manage a row with three columns.
In an effort to create an easier way to use Gutenberg in a more “page building experience” we created a simple method that allows you to change the default max width for pages and posts, as well as individually through a page by page setting.

In forum: Ascend ThemeIn forum: Virtue ThemeI was integrating some HTML from Flipcause.com and found the page could not load. I contacted Flipcause and they tracked it down to a problem in Bootstrap.
They claim the version of JaveScript used by Bootstrap needs to be upgraded to higher than version 1.9.1.

Hi Martin,
Pleasure speaking with you a moment ago. As discussed, the Bootstrap JavaScript version needs to be updated inside your WordPress account to resolve the loading issue of the Flipcause integration. It should be updated higher than version 1.9.1.
Please confirm with us once that has been updated which should resolve the loading issue for you. Let us know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Sam & Team Phoenix

Hey John,
There is not an option (yet!) to add blocks to a widget area. But there are some widgets that may get you the look you want. For example, the Virtue Image Menu Item widget. You could add that to your sidebar from Appearance > Widgets.
Virtue premium has an option for a sitewide footer shortcode. You could use the Kadence Slider to create a slider with images and links to your desired pages. Then you can paste the slider shortcode into the above the footer shortcode output from Theme Options > Footer.
Would either of these options work for you?Merry Christmas to you as well!
Hannah

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Auto-upload content to a page?
Hi Ben,
I would like to post a follow up question on this topic from a couple of years ago. I confess that I never had the time to figure out how to add widget areas to different pages that would show the same content. Instead I managed by updating the information on both pages. But now I would like to add the same thumbnail advertisements for each individual tour to a sidebar menu. So I’m revisiting this communication to see if you could give me some tips on how to achieve what I would like.
What I need:
– Advertisements for a variety of tours, showing up on every page. These need to be image+text
– This could be in a sidebar (my first thought), or in a slider display on each pageHere is the sidebar that I would like to edit: http://www.johngrahamtours.com/tamada-club/
Right now it just has text titles that when clicked, redirect to another page on the website. That is fine. But I would like these titles to be a little more attractive and enticing. They need to include images and text. If I can create a good quality sidebar with blocks of content that advertise other tours, I would implement such a sidebar site wide so that viewers of every page could see what other tours are on offer.Another option is a slider with text and image blocks that each advertise for a separate tour. Something like what is seen at the bottom of this page: https://www.steppestravel.com/blog/understanding-overtourism/
I am conscious that my website has terrible load times (probably a product of a cheap hosting plan), so I don’t want to overburden my site. Let me know what advise you have.
Thanks, and Merry Christmas!
John
In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Mobile usability issues
December 25, 2019 at 5:22 am #242466Hi Hannah,
I received notification from Google
Search Console has identified that your site is affected by 3 Mobile Usability issues:Top Issues
The following issues were found on your site:Text too small to read
Clickable elements too close together
Content wider than screen
I went into google to see if I can get info on how to fix it. I’ve read about web design viewpoint but don’t want to add code to head of site. How can I fix this please?
Another article suggested:
You should include the following <meta> viewport element in all your web pages:
<meta name=”viewport” content=”width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0″>but I am not 100% sure where to add it?
thanks in advance.
