Hi Jerry,
Yep, you’re on the right track with portfolio types. Just create however many portfolio types you want and then assign your portfolio posts to a specific type. Then when creating a portfolio page using the portfolio grid template you can choose to only show a specific portfolio type. Does that make sense?

Hello! I am very much enjoying using the Virtue theme for my site, but have run into a few issues. My site is stage.vocalmasterclassics.com, which is a database site with a search tool that probes details of about 1000 posts…that we are hoping to go live with in the next few days. On the home page there is a Search widget (with 10 drop-down search menus) in the right sidebar. We have directed that sidebar to appear in every subsequent page, post, and search results pages. In other words, I want that extensive search tool/sidebar to be ever-present throughout the website…never going away. For some reason, however, we cannot get it to appear anywhere but on the home page, even though we checked the pertinent boxes for the widget. We are not sure why it is not showing. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

On the Basket page of Ascend the shipping section reads:

“Shipping Enter your address to view shipping options.
Calculate shipping”

1. this is a little clumsy looking
2. is it possible to remove the line “enter your address to view shipping options”
3. UPPERCASE & BOLD “Calculate Shipping”
4. Have the address fields OPEN by default (i.e. no need to click calculate shipping to reveal the fields)

Those are from your paypal plugin. You can change them to be whatever you would like by editing the settings for example if you want to remove the button for paypal credit you can uncheck that box.

In terms of tabs, “additional information” only shows when your product as attributes set to show on the product page. You can add attributes in your product settings.

Okay, I played with it some more using the second recommended change above, I slowly (increased) changed the width of the browser on the home page, http://www.ahyoudmd.dreamhosters.com. The two do align until you go wider than around 1700px (width of content and Kadence Blocks alignwide = 1450). What I see is the Virtue Theme content slowly grows (this seems correct) and going above 1700px the Kadence Block alignwide section is reduced by 200px, to around 1250px. So it seems the Theme with this change works, but now Kadence Block Row width is acting strange at a width > 1700. As the Window is made wider than 1700, the Kadence row content should not reduce by 200px, it should slowly increase too, shouldn’t it?

Adding this makes the left edge of the content areas (the Theme Home controlled sections and Kadence Block Row section) align but not the right edge. The width of the Kadence Row section (starting with “Welcome”) does not continue to widen on the right edge. However, using Kadence Blocks Splitcontent section does work. The left edge of the content (the Theme Home controlled sections and Kadence Block Splitcontent section) does align as the window is made wider.

For some reason the date and author on the main blog page are no longer showing up. They were displaying a couple days ago so I’m not sure if there’s anything you can see on your end. They’re on the individual post pages though.

1. Strange. It’s like elementor is not registering that you’re using a side header. The Agency demo was built using siteorigin page builder, but you should be able to create the same effect with elementor. I’ll flag this for the developer so he can provide some insight.

2. Try adding this to your custom css box in Theme Options:

I’m creating a site based on the Ascend Agency demo (though I didn’t download/install the demo itself) and I’m using the Elementor page builder. My client likes the left side layout header and the split image function that appears on the About page, so I go into the layout settings within Elementor for the section to display in the area between the left menu and the rest of the window, if I choose ‘Stretch Section’ then everything within the section goes behind the left header. I want the content to appear just as it is in the Agency demo About page. I’m sure there’s a combination of settings I’m missing, and I’ve not had this problem using SiteOrigin, but really wanting to stick with Elementor. Any suggestions?

I also don’t want any margin or padding around the logo…where it looks like the asterisk is cut off on the top and left side, I’d like those to but up against the browser window and not have that maroon color appearing on the top or left side.

Hi guys, I’m having some troubles.

After updating my plugins, and specifically the kadence slider pro, the slideshow on the homepage has disappeared. Instead I’ve got the shortcode. Even though I changed it to another and then set it back and saved in theme options, the issue is still there. We’ve also deactivated and activated the plugin back but nothing has changed.

Hey Peggy,
Are you adding the shortcode to a page builder row? If so, edit the row and open the Attributes tab and you should see a tab for the row class. You can paste the class there.

Thank you so much for your help and making the ratio adjustment! Looks much better!
As for the tab widget, I see you added it but I don’t know how to populate it. Hannah said it is pulling from the product info. I am not sure where to add this to populate to the tabs. I would like to have 3 or 4 tabs: Reviews, Nutrition info, The No-No’s and Storage and add text to each. How do I create them and populate them wit text?

I am listing some products on sale, and both the regular price and sale prices are described “From: $49.00 From: $39.20” below the product title.

I’d still like to see the regular price crossed out below the variation sizes as it is now, but I don’t want it to say “from” twice at the top or on the category pages. “From $39.20”, the lowest sale price would be best. Is this something you can help me fix?

On the Home page, there is an image menu and page content in a row, where the row is set to “wide width”, not normal or full width. The content of the row is wider than the Theme max-width when you stretch out the browser window 1800 pixels wide. I an using Virtue Premium and Kadence Blocks.

I see now that if I disable “Use Classic Editor for new posts” on the SiteOrigin Page Builder settings page, I am able to access the Kadence Blocks interface.

Let me know if there is anything else I need to know about using in Kadence Blocks and SiteOrigin Page Builder in parallel.

Hi Ben:
Thanks, I tried out the Kadence Advanced Gallery Block with the custom link option and it works great.

However, there is a problem. I can only use Kadence Blocks when I deactivate the Page Builder by SiteOrigin plugin, and I have already built pages using the SiteOrigin page builder. Those pages break when I deactivate the plugin (for instance, the following code displays on the page instead of an embedded video: “[siteorigin_widget class=”WP_Widget_Media_Video”][/siteorigin_widget]”). If I don’t deactivate the SiteOrigin Page Builder plug-in, the Kadence Blocks interface is not available to me when I create a new page, even though the Kadence Blocks plugin is activated.

Is there a way to use the Kadence Blocks plugin without deactivating the SiteOrigin Page Builder?

Hey pam,
You can adjust this for your menus from Theme Options > Menu Settings. Just set the “text-transform” to “none”. Then for your page titles you can set “Enable Text transform “uppercase” for page title” to “Off” from Theme Options > Default Title Options.
