In reply to: Testimonials in Firefox not visible
June 5, 2019 at 12:36 pm #227674Hey,
Your issue is that you are loading insecure content on an https url.Mixed Content: The page at ‘https://staging.sc4.edu/’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure image ‘http://staging.sc4.edu/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/47775661401_ee1dcd4804_k.png’. This content should also be served over HTTPS.
You need to make sure all your urls are loading with https.

In forum: Membership ForumsWe are using a Kadence Pro Slider on our homepage and wanted to add testimonials below it. They work great on all browsers except Firefox, which messes up the slider and does not show the testimonials at all. Am I missing something obvious?
I removed the slider and the testimonials still are not working for Firefox. Looks great on Explorer, Safari and Chrome.
The site is staging.sc4.edu, I will remove the login so you can see it.

In forum: Ascend ThemeJune 5, 2019 at 10:57 am #227659Hi
Well, I’d like it to indicate clicking it will show a larger image, so text such as “View Larger” or “Zoom”. The page is this one: https://flutterbyartspace.com/portfolio/tranquility/If it’s not an easy thing, no worries. The cursor does change to indicate it’s a hotspot, so hopefully people will figure it out.
In forum: Ascend ThemeJune 5, 2019 at 10:28 am #227653Hi Ben – Thank you!!! That worked perfectly. Any chance of doing something similar on a portfolio page gallery where clicking the image shows the lightbox larger image?

You can use css like this to hide the filters on desktop:
@media (min-width: 992px) { .archive.woocommerce .page-description { display: none; } }I haven’t worked with that plugin so I can’t say for sure how it works. You’re certainly welcome to try it out!

June 5, 2019 at 10:06 am #227650Hey,
You seem to be adding this css:img.attachment-shop_single.shop_single.wp-post-image { width: 500px; text-align: left; }Which is forcing the image larger then the output.
If you want a larger image just go into your theme options > shop archive settings > Product Image Sizes turn off “Enable Product Image Aspect Ratio on product Page” then go to appearance > customizer > woocommerce > product images “Main image width”
There set the width to 500

Hey,
The sidebar has always shown underneath the content on mobile. What you could do is add a filter to the content area of your shop page, then use css to hide it on desktop and only show it on mobile. And visa versa for your sidebar. Would that work for you?
Can you link to the filter you’re referencing?Hannah
In forum: Ascend ThemeHello friend,
I have a shop and in the product page (*Login to see link the product main image appears in low resolution, which is strange because if you click the image you would realise the image is excellent! this seems to be a problem in large screens, in mobiles the images are ok. How to correct this?
Cheers!In forum: Virtue ThemeIn forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: mobile woocommerce sidebar
June 5, 2019 at 2:32 am #227608Hi, if you go here *Login to see link from a mobile you will see that the sidecar is moved to the bottom and, from a pc, you will see the sidebar on the left. i thought in the mobile the sidebar will be positioned on the top of the page…. anyway, I noticed that you have a FILTER accordion that shows or not the theme category filter options…. it should be great to have the sidebar like that, on the top of filter, initially closed and expandable like FILTER does… and the optimum would be with a custom label, in this case i will put SIZES/COLORS….
thank you very much

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi!
As I started using gutenberg, some elements stopped working (instead of image galleries I now have empty space). So I started editing old pages and I encounter the same issue on them. At a certain point I get a white block covering the screen. I tried resizing images, moving elements, etc. The only thing that helps is closing settings, but then I cannot set up elements properly.
What can be causing it and how to remove it?Thank you!
June 4, 2019 at 4:22 pm #227588Hi
I have a portfolio grid on the home page. I would like to add text that will appear when hovering over each of the grid images. I want the hover to show the border (which is currently does) plus the words “View Gallery” so that users know to click the image to see more. Thanks!In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Post Grid/Carousel with random order
June 4, 2019 at 4:14 pm #227585On “Where to Eat” and other pages, the client is quite clear that they want a different set of posts visible each time so that the display remains fresh and visitors don’t just see the same half-a-dozen establishments each time they view the page.
Current suggestions say that people (your users) do not want random. The idea of “fresh” only applies to blog posts and news sites and even still it’s fresh content not randomly mixed up content on every load. There is a huge difference because all the previously seen content is still there just further back in the navigation. So for one, people generally want recommendations. For example when you go to a page that says “where to eat” you generally want to be told where to eat not given a random output of potential places to eat. Plus people generally want to be able to find something again if they saw it. For example, let’s say I click on the first item in the list but the second also intrigues me so I’ll come back and look at it next, I click on the first read then click back and suddenly the second isn’t there, also the first isn’t… That is where people leave your site.
When creating a page like you are where you have as many items as you do it’s much much better for your users to categorize and provide clear navigation to a specific output. Rather then list all.
Lets put it this way, if you saw a list of categories like this how often are you going to click “random output”
Popular ->
Best Seafood ->
Family Friendly ->
Best Cocktails ->
Random Output ->I am suggesting you create content for your users is all. Throughout the web, there is almost never a good reason to sort something randomly.
But your site, not mine I’m just trying to clarify.
The shortcode can’t have pagination so that option is out if you need pagination. You will have to code something specific to your needs if you are wanting to move forward with your current setup.

In forum: Ascend ThemeThank you for the code, I had to SFTP to the site to upload it to the Child Theme. It does not appear to be working though… I tried on another browser after resetting the cache too.
Edit: Just had an idea: I am currently working on the article so, it is in draft mode. Could that have any bearing on the page numbers not moving?

June 4, 2019 at 3:07 pm #227576I’ve tried in multiple browsers. It does the same thing. No notice just reloads the page. Acts like you have some security plugin preventing even a password notice from appearing.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Testimonials- move arrows and adjust height
June 4, 2019 at 2:03 pm #227565Hey,
The carousel height is not fluidly “moving up and down” because that is really bad for the user. Consider your mobile traffic or even desktop based on where you have it. If the carousel height changed every time the testimonials change then the height of the entire page changes causing scrolling and movement while the user is trying to read and navigate. It’s intentional that the carousel set a height for usability.However if you want this remove hannahs css:
.testimonialbox { min-height: 280px; }and add this:
.kad-testimonial-carousel.slick-initialized .slick-current.slick-active { height: auto; } .kad-testimonial-carousel.slick-initialized .slick-slide { height: 0; }Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Category Sidebars
June 4, 2019 at 1:53 pm #227559Some other information. Most filters that use attributes check if that attribute is part of the main loop before they show. So widgets like that hide themselves naturally.
There are also easy widget visibility tools that allow you to customize which widgets show based on the page or category, this makes it easy to manage different widgets for different categories.
Finally, if you want to make sure there are different sidebars per category then you need to use a child theme, you would have to filter in the sidebar id based on the category, in a child theme functions.php file it would look like this:
add_filter( 'kadence_sidebar_id', 'custom_sidebar_for_category' ); function custom_sidebar_for_category( $sidebar ) { if( class_exists('woocommerce') ) { if ( is_product_category() ) { if ( is_product_category('Category_slug') ) { $sidebar = 'sidebar1'; } else if( is_product_category('Category_slug_2') ) { $sidebar = 'sidebar2'; } } } return $sidebar; } -
