I had used a “Landing Page – No Header” template for my Static home page. It worked great. But now I want a standard FullWidth home page. Once I set any page to be the static Home page, it reverts to No Header / Footer.

Thanks Ben. That fixes the excerpt issue.

I notice that the image sizes are larger with kad_blog and the posts look better using the full width of the page, rather than one of two columns.

Yeah – it seems dumb right?

I did that because the full event was not showing up on the calendar.

For example, I just added an event from May 8 – 11, and it works, but it only shows up as May 8 on the calendar… which is another problem…

So I have been trying to find the combination that will make my client happy. Then when I read the plugin FAQ they said end dates were not posted by default, so I though that was my problem.

I guess I could delete the calendar altogether. That is not a huge issue and at this point I need to get to the next item. 🙂

Off the top of your head – Do you know where the template is for the main Event list page, though? I want to change the way it lists “categories” to just category. It was easy to locate for the single post.

The first thing that I would try is going to Settings> Permalinks, and resave them.

Does the page load properly after this?

I finally figured out the shortcode to displace the gallery with the albums. Couldn’t NOT find that in the Gallery plugin set up page.

When I go to my gallery page, I see my albums. Great. When I click onto an album it says page not found.

“Not Found
Sorry, but the page you were trying to view does not exist.
It looks like this was the result of either:

a mistyped address
an out-of-date link”

Page Note Found: *Login to see link

1. You can use the text widget with shortcode placed in it as before. You just need to make sure you’re not adding the same slider twice to the same page.

2. Place the slider shortcode into any text editor that you’d like it to display in.

What size images are you uploading? What do you have set for “Enable Product Image Aspect Ratio on Catalog pages” in Theme Options > Shop Settings?

Hey,
In your theme options > home layout, there is a home layout manager. Using that you can enable or disable custom sections for your home page.

That is where you can enable the home blog section.

If you would like to add that type of blog section to another page you can use this shortcode:

Clarification…. I’m using VIRTUE THEME and Pagebuilder to create the particular site. (Not using Block Editor or there is no shortcode block.)

If I want to add another slider image on my homepage (in addition to the Home Slider Image which I placed using Theme Options> Homepage Slider) what do I use?

If I want to place a slider on another page, how do I create that?

Hello,

I’m not entirely sure I understand what you’re after. You can set the page title to show and not assign an image to a page, if that’s what you’re after. You can also hide the page title entirely and just show breadcrumbs.

This is set in the page title and subtitle settings within each page:

In the last few weeks I started getting an error sent to me, saying that Something went wrong while updating your sitemap: We weren’t able to locate a sitemap file in your website’s root folder.

I since uploaded a new sitemap, but it’s giving me the same error.

I would add that it was recently brought to my attention that only the homepage of my site is being picked up by google. Not sure if these two issues are related, but I was told that my site was not being “crawled” effectively.

I wish I could create pages without using the title of the page (image + title of the page), because I would need a different image on each page of the site. Is there no way to put the breadcrumb under my banner that I created in each page? Because when I try, the breadcrumb is placed above my banner, so just below the logo and menu.

Hi Hannah!

I’ve started buliding the page without using Home layout in Theme Options (it was Restaurant Demo)… do you mean it matters, and I should use image menu item that way?

I’m wanting the text to shrink on smaller screens, if there is a way to do that.

The plugin doesn’t place itself anywhere. You have added it in Theme Options> Home Page Header.

The slider at the top of the page is not coming from the text widget. The slider at the top of the page is coming from Theme Options> Home Page Header.

You deleted the second slider, so the text widget is trying to pull it through shortcode. But now that it’s been deleted, the slider doesn’t exist. So that’s why you’re getting the error message.

Does that make sense? The text widget is not adding the slider under your header. The slider under your header is being set in Theme Options> Home Page Header.

Hopefully that clears things up.

Let me see if we can approach this a bit differently.

I decided to use the Kadence Slider Pro plugin, instead of standard home slider.

I placed a text widget at the top of the page where I could insert Kadence Slider Pro’s shortcode so that the slider would appear under the Header/Logo.

I added the other widgets following the Slider Pro. I didn’t add another text widget. See screen shot.

On the Home Layout I have Latest Posts and Image Menu selected.

What did I do wrong that is making the prompt text showup saying it couldn’t find slider?

I’m confused.
