In reply to: Loaded Kadence Slider Pro/ Mysterious White Space
I’m confused. In the initial screenshot you shared, you wanted to remove the white space that was being caused by the duplicate slider. Now the slider is showing. If you want to remove it, then you simply need to delete the text widget.
The other instance of the slider is being added in Theme Options> Home Page Layout.

May 6, 2019 at 3:28 pm #224895I always have caching turned off in WP while building a site, so that shouldn’t be an issue. Browser caching doesn’t seem to be it either, as I opened the page in a browser I haven’t yet used today, and the content still doesn’t show. I didn’t get whether or not whether using Elementor with your themes poses a problem.
Thanks for the other couple of options to get that content in there. My understanding – tiny as it is so far – about Kadence Blocks is that those are an either/or proposition if I’m using a pagebuilder. Either I use Kadence Blocks OR I use a pagebuilder, right? This is the first site I’m building with Gutenberg/blocks as a possibility, and it doesn’t strike me as being terribly flexible in my opinion. It also seems to take over and do what IT wants (the WP blocks approach) rather than what I want. I pasted some well-formatted HTML into the text editor and it broke my one long content block up into many individual “blocks.” Hmm… scratching head.
I’ll see if shortcodes work for me.

That space is from a slider that’s being added to a text widget in page builder. the reason it isn’t showing is because you can’t load the same slider twice on the page.
I wasn’t aware that I loaded the same slider on the page twice. I didn’t see it. But thank you, Kevin, for correcting. I appreciate your help.:)

Another option to add it to the page content would be to use the Kadence Blocks Pro plugin and add via a post grid/carousel block:
https://www.kadenceblocks.com/docs/configure-a-blog-list-with-post-grid-carousel-block/You can also use shortcode pasted into a text editor:
http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/shortcodes/As for them not showing on your page currently, did you clear your cache after making the changes in your theme options?

May 6, 2019 at 3:01 pm #224889Ah, ok, so these various items don’t show up as content blocks in the editor itself. Apparently, then, I can’t have two of my own “page content” blocks with one of the pre-styled Kadence blocks in between them, right?
But, now that I see where to turn that recent-blog item on, in my real site I have it turned on, listed after “page content” yet that recent blog content block doesn’t show up:
http://sgfneighborhoodnews.com/belong
I only have one blog post in the site so far, but nothing is showing on the homepage despite having it enabled. My homepage is built with Elementor. Would that negate the Kadence content?

In forum: Virtue ThemeMay 6, 2019 at 1:54 pm #224879I installed a fresh, new instance of WP with the Virtue Premium theme, then used Kadence Importer to import the demo content. After doing so and looking at the homepage, the ONLY content in the editor is the call to action. Yet, the live site shows everything! Odd that the other page content seems to be hidden somewhere within the backside, but magically shows on the live side. I was mainly wanting to see what kind of widget or content type the “Latest from the Blog” was (see attached image). I figured it was some kind of “recent post” but the demo content formatting looks WAY different than my real site when I use ANY of the ‘recent post’ widgets – editing with Elementor. I thought maybe it’s a widget specific to SiteOrigin or something else. But I can’t get to that content in the backend of the demo content to study it. I even ran the importer a second time, but to no avail.
Incidentally, the Kadence site page that links to the Kadence Importer (*Login to see link also downloads an out of date version of the plugin. Upon installing, it immediately asked me to update the plugin, which I did. Easy enough, but it seems the main landing page for the plugin should link to the latest version.

In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Info box icons size?
Hi, I’m using the infobox with my own icons, but apparently, they show up at different sizes even though the icon files are all the same size ie: 63×63. Why is this happening? How can they all show up the same size? You can see the page here: *Login to see link Thanks!

May 6, 2019 at 10:51 am #224843I also just installed a fresh, new instance of WP with the Virtue Premium theme, then used Kadence Importer to import the demo content. In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Home page blog options
Hello,
You can achieve this by adding the posts to your home page content or home widget area. Firstly, go to Theme Options> Home Layout, and make sure either the page content or the widget area are active, depending on which you want to use.
Then, you can add the posts via a text widget or into the text editor within your home page content with shortcode like this:
[blog_grid orderby=date items=4 columns=2]You can find the full shortcode options here:
http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/shortcodes/Another option would be to use the post grid/carousel block in Kadence Blocks to add the posts to your page content:
https://www.kadenceblocks.com/docs/configure-a-blog-list-with-post-grid-carousel-block/That tutorial shows how to build a blog list, but you can set it up the way you’re wanting in the settings.
Let me know if this is helpful for you!

In forum: Virtue ThemeMay 6, 2019 at 10:29 am #224837My organization uses Virtue Premium, and I noticed recently that the images for our home slider are being overridden by the feature image to our latest post. The settings within Theme Options > Home Slider > Slider Images are correct/haven’t been changed, but all forciably being replaced by the latest post’s faeture image.
We currently have the Homepage Image Slider set to ‘Slider Equal Ratio Images’ – I tested the other options, and the Fullwidth Slider pulls the correct images, but they are distorted from being built to specific dimensions. Can you please explain why this is happening and how I can correct the slider display to pull the correct images?
Thank you,

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi Ben –
We noticed recently that our custom placement at the top of the sidebar of our Author Box is no longer displaying information (we’re using a Virtue Premium child theme). I think this may have happened after a recent update to Virtue Premium. Here is an example of a post on our site where the author box information is missing. And here is a link to the same page in the internet archive where it is working
Any idea on why this has happened?
Thanks
