Hi — I have my blog page set to “do not show sidebar,” but my list of posts is still only at 75% width. Is there a setting I can change to make the list of posts appear at full width, or will I need to hack the CSS?

Additionally, is there a way to change the size and aspect ratio of the featured images as they appear (in “portrait” format) in the list of posts?

Sorry for the delay! So I don’t actually think that you can limit the testimonial word count when using a shortcode in Virtue Premium. Sorry! You can do this in our other themes so I was confused. A workaround could be to use a page builder plugin that would allow you to add a widget to the page, then you could add the testimonial carousel widget. That would allow you to limit the word count. Could that work for you?

HTTP ERROR 500
I contacted my hosting provider, A2 Hosting, and they replied:
We have checked the logs on the server and can see below PHP errors:-

Problem seems to be with the custom wordpress theme which you are using for your website. Web programming provides a large amount of flexibility, but it can be hard learned and small mistakes can make a script malfunction. Unfortunately, it is beyond our scope to debug scripting issues that are not related to the server or server miss-configuration. We therefore recommend you seek assistance from theme provider or professional web developer in this regards.

I attempted to update the virtue theme yesterday and it gave me an error message. I also was getting a message that I needed to install Kadence Blocks, which I had previously done (I was using the block editor already, so seemed odd to get this message). When I attempted to install kadence blocks, it gave me an error, saying the folder already existed. As of this morning, I haven’t been able to access anything.

Please let me know if you need any more information to solve the issue.

Hello,

You can add text to your blog page if you want. It doesn’t require any CSS either. Just go to your page list, and edit the blog page.

Type whatever text you want to show above the posts, and you should be set.

Let me know if that works for you!

Hi,

My sire designer tells me that I have to buy a separate plugin in order to allow visitors to submit posts to my Blog page.

Couldn’t we just add the Comment functionality that already exists within the theme to the Blog page also?

I’m using the Google Map shortcode and was wondering if there’s any way to suppress the information that seems to display on the embedded map by default such as Name, Address, and Reviews. I don’t even really want or need the Directions or Save icons there. I notice if I double click on the map the only thing that now displays is View Larger Map and that would be perfect.

Ok and sidebar on the right of the page listed above, read more how can I get that to navigate to another page to the one it’s going to and cannot do it under Appearance > Widgets >Sidebar

So if you are talking about another page please link to it.

You can use a testimonial shortcode and place that in a page with a sidebar.

Thanks you for your response! Adding an image to the portfolios does make them show up under “Recent Projects” in my footer but they do not show up as images under the portfolio page – still invisible links which can only be seen by highlighting them with the mouse cursor.

I am using the portfolio shortcode – [portfolio_posts orderby=title style=”pgrid” columns=2 items=4 ratio=”square” lightbox=true showtypes=true type=sites]. I have two portfolios and will never have more. I would like them to be displayed side by side (two columns) as images that can be clicked on to go to the actual portfolio item.

Can you point me in the direction to alter the look of the blog section of the homepage. Would prefer for it to look like a list in coloums with a small image instaed of a big image. Can this be done?

Hi Hannah,

That is set to 20 words. I tried changing it to 50 words but it made no difference on the page.

Another impact I have just noticed is that it is difficult to go from the summary page to an individual testimonial post, as there are no “clickable” zones. Neither the logo nor the “testimonialbottom” are clickable. I don’t know if this is related or requires a new thread?

The page is on a DEV site so I’ll send you details.
