In reply to: Highlight parent categoru in menu
CSS works great!
If i redirect to a page then i don’t get the menu item highlighted when on that page unless there is a selector that is somehow set on redirect.
Maybe i’m better with modifying the content in the category page and only use category pages overall. For this i would need to filter what post are being displayed and ONLY on some category pages. Is this possible?
Thank you

“This gets unpractical because one would manually have to ad conditional rules for all past and future post single pages.”If using the plugin is impractical then you would need to code something specific for this site. You would have to code out a dynamic menu that pulled in what menu items were needed based on the post through a custom query. The plugin is your best option for something that is written and you don’t have to code but past that, if you need more custom then using a custom menu system makes more sense.
2. I don’t see highlighting as an issue if you are doing a custom menu then it would be easy to code in.

November 26, 2018 at 6:03 pm #209108.nav-main ul.sf-menu > li.current-post-parent > a, .second-navclass .sf-menu > li.current-post-parent > a { color:blue; }a page can’t be a post parent. So you would have to manually set CSS for each post.
I suggest leaving your menu using categories, if you have to create custom pages then make those the only ones you need to manually style and use a redirect from your categories to those custom pages so the navigation of single posts remains working.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Different images in headers
November 26, 2018 at 5:53 pm #209105Hey,
The page title area is the area where the image shows. If you just want an image with no page title you can add that using pagebuilder or within your content (for example using Gutenberg). The settings for the page header area are settings to design the page title area.If you require those settings you have to show the title, you can then hide it if you wish using css. So for example:
h1.kad-page-title { display: none; }Ben

Is there a way with custom CSS that I can center align all text below each staff photo for the following pages:
So that it looks like:
*Login to see linkI was able to add text-align: center; in the custom CSS that changed JUST the *Login to see link but I’m wondering if there’s a way to target the staff text for all three of those pages.
Thanks!
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeTopic: Different images in headers
Hello,
Just trying to redo a site using the Pinnacle theme and I have a question regarding different images on the headers of pages other than the ‘home’ page.
I’m struggling to get any image to display in the header of, say, the ‘about’ page… Unless I set the ‘Show the Title in header by default’ to ‘YES’
If I set that to ‘YES’, and set the option to ‘NO’ on the ‘about’ page, then no image is displayed on that page.If I set that to ‘YES’ on the ‘about’ page, then the image is displayed, but the page title, ‘About’, is also displayed within the image.
Is there any way to get around this issue?
Thanks!
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: How to make the youtube player responsive
Hello Kevin,
I’m using a Video widget on some pages and have only the possibility to put in a field (for exemple): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcJlYHURrt0
your solution can’t work. But in a SiteOrigin Editor your solution works fine.
Thanks.
How can I do the same thing in a video widget ?In forum: Membership ForumsNovember 26, 2018 at 4:10 pm #209077Hey,
There isn’t an option within the Kadence slider Legacy to move the title or description off the image. You could use the pro and simply add your image as an image layer and the text as layers above and/or below.
Otherwise you could look at using the custom carousel widget with siteorigin pagebuilder installed.

Hi,
The icons in my portfolio page have misaligned in the right hand column. I’m running an older theme version as I don’t want to update right now. Please provide me some code I can insert to fix this.
Thanks!

In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Difficult menu structure
Hi Kadence team,
this project is driving me crazy because i can’t find a solution that meats all criteria: maintaining the design and functionality of the old site.
1. The menu goes 3 levels deep and they change depending on selection. I can reproduce that with Conditional Menus Plugin by showing/hiding menus dependent on the page viewed. This gets unpractical because one would manually have to ad conditional rules for all past and future post single pages.
2. The parent menu items get highlighted showing a hierarchy. Even going as deep as opening the single post page highlights the corresponding items in all 3 menus.
How would you reproduce this in Ascend (or other Kadence Theme)?
Thank you,
B.AndersIn forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Highlight parent categoru in menu
Hey Kevin,
just changing the color is fine.
This CSS works great for categories but how ca we make the same for when the post is viewed? When i open the post no category gets highlighted.
Secondary:
I experimented today with the menu structure and came to the conclusion that i can’t use category pages everywhere and i would have to use Pages with shortcode loop instead of category pages.Could CSS work also with Page-parent-child? Does WP provide a selector for page ancestors too?
Thank you,
B. AndersIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: How To Retain Primary Menu Border Color
Hey, so I tried this same CSS on my personal website and while it works for every page, it doesn’t work for homepage.
It might be because I’ve set the below option to “off” (This option is in Home Slider section in Theme Options)
Place behind Header
This enabled the transparent header on the home page. And I did this because I only want to use that header and want to keep Home Slider area free of that image.
Is there a way for this to work the same on Homepage as it’s working on other pages?
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Reduce padding on home page items
Hello Kevin.
Thanks! That custom CSS is the perfect place to start on the mission statement text.
I was in the middle of editing my original post to include a second padding question for the homepage as I thought they might be related.
Would you mind taking a look at my original post again at the “2nd issue” screenshots/question?
Thank you so much!
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeWebsite: *Login to see link
1st issue:
*Login to see linkI’m hoping there’s some custom CSS that would allow me to experiment with the pad top and bottom padding for the white area and block of text that says, “Wherever you are on your journey of faith, you are welcome at Saint Mark’s.”
Currently, there appears to be more top padding.

2nd issue:
Mobile screenshot:
*Login to see linkThere is a significant gap that I’d like to reduce between the last calendar item/”View More…” and the map icon for directions.
desktop screenshot:
*Login to see linkSame gap below the video and calendar listings before the icons for Directions, What’s Happenings, and Make a Donation.
Thanks!
In forum: Membership ForumsIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Hide Specific Page Builder Row in Mobile
No worries! You can use this css to hide the first row on your homepage:
.home div#pg-2-0 { display: none; }Just paste that into your custom css box in Theme Options > Advanced Settings.
Then to add a slider I would suggest enabling the home mobile slider feature in your theme options.
Hope that helps!Hannah
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: still sides background
You can’t use css to change the color of an image. If you wanted a white logo you would have to upload an image that was using white text. Then you could use css to replace the gold image with the white. Does that make sense?
To make the header blend on your post, replace this css:.page-id-7825 div#pageheader { background: transparent !important; }with this:
.postid-7873 div#pageheader, .page-id-7825 div#pageheader { background: transparent !important; }Hannah
