Hey,
I’m not sure I understand. Can you give me an example of a search term that might be used so I can better understand? Since you would be clicking on the “yarn” page in your search, I don’t really get why it should be different. Would you also like to change the way it appears on the search?

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Gallery headings
At the top of a gallery page that was created by a site search, the word “Yarn” appears as the heading. I’m using a plugin to filter the results. Both the filter and the search are based on custom taxonomies rather than basing the searches on Categories. What would I need to do to replace the word Yarn with whatever was entered as ### search terms (if any) + filters applied? This link will show you want I’m referring to.
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Display Question
I’m not sure if this is a theme question. If it’s an option of WooCommerce, or WP itself, I’ll be happy to take my question to another forum.
My categories display as links at the tops of galleries, or pages created by site searches. I’d like for those links not to display there. Where can I disable that?
This link will demonstrate what I mean.
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Adding a sub menu to a shop category page
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi there,
My Virtue Theme shop has become too large to display all the products on one page. So I am going to simply add category pages to my menu which is nice and simply. However, on my shop category pages, I think I need a side bar menu so customers can navigate to the other category pages (my primary and secondary top bar menus are full). Is there a simple of adding a custom menu to the shop category page template I wonder?

Hannah, that is so kind! Thanks for finding that plug-in. I also found this one, it lets you create a nested page structure, and there is a “push to bottom” button. It seems like a good way of organizing all my pages, particularly during development. Good reviews and lots of installs. And I get to keep all my Virtue templates for later use.
Thanks again.
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Kadence slider doesn’t work correctly
November 1, 2018 at 3:42 pm #206246Hey,
You are saying you want full height on mobile. but then you sent me a mockup that doesn’t have full height on mobile. This makes things very confusing and frustrating for both of us because you are saying you want two completely different things at the same time which is of course not possible. The only way to achieve your mockup is to turn off full height (as I have said) and turn on respect aspect ratio (also as I have already said). If you wish to create a separate slider and do thing things I have already said you can do that. In the theme options, you can set this mobile slider for your homepage and it will replace your normal slider.
Are you willing to turn off full height and turn on respect aspect ratio?

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Link Underline
November 1, 2018 at 11:38 am #206219Hello, I have used CSS to underline links in my content. I want to do this for several reasons. However, it also underlines the icons on my homepage features. I don’t mind if the link word is underlined, but the icon is also underlined. How do I get rid of icon underlines? Or, is there some better way to feature links with underlines?
Thanks

That’s what I am trying to avoid. I’m on somewhat slow Internet (in Italy) and each click takes some time. If I only had live pages in “all pages”, then finding the page to edit would be one click. Having lots of pages, including 40+ in draft mode, makes clicking on “published”, and a second click (and waiting for the page to load).
Not a big things; mostly I’m trying to be as efficient as possible given my Internet speed.

Yes. That’s the extra click. 🙂
I would click on “all pages” and then “published” to see my real pages, rather than just clicking on “all pages”. I’m going overboard on the efficient thing when I am doing a lot of page editing in the early stages of developing the site.

November 1, 2018 at 10:53 am #206213Hey Hugo,
Random is probably not something we’ll add to the Kadence Slider. Random itself is not really something I would advise for many reasons. I would even go so far as to convince a client it’s not a smart move. In part because of how caching works and how important caching is for performance. WPengine one of the leading WordPress hosting companies turns off all random queries by default in WordPress because of the performance hit. And in part because random can be really offputting and confusing to someone visting your site expecting to see what they saw the first time and not seeing it.I think if you are interested in implementing something anyway I would suggest using css to define a background for a page title or “slider” area where you just set some height. Then using javascript you could change the class “randomly” and depending on the class the image background would change.

That’s great. That will take them out of search, and I can click on “published” to one see the live pages. That’s just one extra click wench I am trying to edit a published page. Thanks!
I am going to look and see if there is a way of using one of the page-ordering plug-ins so that I can click on just the published pages from the Dashboard. One less click when editing!
If you have a thought in that, I would appreciate it. This is really helpful.
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi guys,
I need to remove the Virtue Demo pages and content that I am not use so that they don’t get in the way when I click “all pages” and so that they don’t show up in searches. But I would like to retain them somewhere, because I am going to be evolving the site over the coming months and like seeing the demo layouts and content.
Is there an easy way of doing that? I was think I could move them to trash, and then never delete the trash, but I was wondering if there is a more reliable, or permanent way of keeping those demo pages in safe, but out of the way, place.
Thanks!

Thanks Hanna,
Yes I saw that but that’s not quite the same as the parallax option that’s available elsewhere like in the page settings. On a page if you go to the title/subtitle section under the title background image there’s a checkbox for parallax (but no popup for fixed/scroll/inherit). What that parallax checkbox does is makes the image scroll but slower than the page scrolls. What fixed does is make it not scroll at all and scroll makes it scroll at the same speed as the page. So if my pages use parallax, but my default is fixed, they don’t behave the same way.
It would be nice if we had all three options everywhere we could set a background image for consistency. Maybe if there were a popup in all cases that had fixed/parallax/scroll/inherit? Just a thought.
In forum: Virtue ThemeHey James,
1. Something like 2000x1600px should work well for full-width images. Check out this post: https://www.kadencewp.com/best-practices-for-images-sizes-and-optimization-in-wordpress/2. You can add top and bottom padding to your page builder row where you’re adding the widget.
Hope that’s helpful!
Hannah
Hey guys,
Two part question.
1. I am using the Virtue call-to-action widget from the demo in two places on my homepage, just re-writing the text and changing the image; it looks good! What is the optimal image size and file size for the background image in Row, Design? I am trying to work out how the image size works in the call-to-action widget, and I would like the site to load as quickly and will use a smaller image if I can.
2. Is there an easy way of making the image a little taller using the standard call-to-action widget?
Thanks for your help!
