    Hey Leif,
    There isn’t a built-in function for this. A workaround would be to remove your header using css, then add a sidebar to your page and add an image widget with your logo and a menu widget to recreate the header. Would that work for you?

    Hi,

    In the Layout Settings -> Site Layout Header Style I choose to place the menu on the right side. But I would love to have a full width slider and place the sidebar menu below? Is that possible wihout too much hassle?

    To clarify what I mean, see my adjusted screenshot:

    Have a great day!

    Did you clear your cache? You could also try recreating this page.

    Hi,

    I just updated the virtue theme. (Not sure if it’s related, but I tried this last week without a problem.)

    Before updating, I was testing a new affiliate plugin and had set the payment settings to allow cheques at checkout.

    After updating Virtue theme, I cannot undo that setting.

    I uncheck the box that allows accepting checks. I click save. And the page refreshes.
    The box to accept checks is still checked.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

    Last night I updated to Woocommerce 3.5.0. All seemed fine until I noticed this morning that it had played havoc with product page images….

    On selected pages it would load the image and then re-size them to a small image. At first I thought it was due to the images in question not being square but then I found images that were square that were re-sizing.
    I have temporarily rolled back to 3.4.7 and there are no issues I can see here.

    Is there a general rule in the new update that could be causing this? Every time I update there seems to be another issue.

    Many Thanks,

    Paul

    Hi,
    I’m working on a website with a lot of pages and they have to be top-pages in the menu. At the moment I have too many pages in my menu so the theme makes two lines of my menu.
    I removed the logo and the page title but I still have some white space at the left where my logo was supposed to be. How can I move the menu to the left so it will be lined out over the full page?

    Hi,

    The staff grid page lacks options to change margins. I need to make the left and right margins bigger.

    Also, how can I shrink/scale the staff images to a smaller size?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ben,
    My internet connection is lagging and often broke up, so the file wasn’t transferred at all. I fixed it.
    Please, let me explain because we have to find a solution that works fine for both of us.

    You told me that responsive design crops pictures according to screen size, so making many attempts I found out a compromise between desktop and mobile landscape mode. The slide with a claim or written text to be readable in any screen size have been designed in a way that the whole important part was centered in any screen. It worked till some updates ago. Actually, in mobile landscape mode it is not shown as usually but it appeared once mingled and another time correctly shown. So as I already told it seems was something wrong on resizing and is not the meaning or white space yes or not. I added such a white/empty space to supply the responsive cropping actitud and having the claim always shown in any screen size.
    I wish do you understand my explanation. I want to have full height turned on but to understand why at any refreshing of the page the size changes.
    That’s all. It doesn’t matter if a bit of white is shown or not in the mobile screen but to understand how the slider works, so I can squeeze the main claim in the correct place.
    Here’s the links working now

    Thanks for your patience and support.

    You could configure the same style icon menu in page builder, it would just be controlled by where you place the page content, rather than the icon menu module in the theme options.

    Does that make sense?

    Okay, Kevin,

    The color recommendation worked. Thank you.

    I want to keep the icon menu on the homepage. If I keep on homepage, it doesn’t sound like I can have a header.

    Am I correct?

    No problem. I can use without one.

    Thank you for your continued support.

    Hey,

    This can be set in Theme Options> Basic Styling, primary color.

    Does that work for you?

    As for adding a header or title, the best way to do this would be to add via a page builder widget to your page content, rather than through the home layout.

    You could use a visual editor widget to set the title, then add the icon menu below.

    Hey,

    Loading two sliders shouldn’t slow down your page. Can you link to your site so that I can see how it’s setup? Can you also link to the slider/sliders that you wish to use so that I can see if there’s a CSS option to replace them?

    Ok, I’m back with this. 🙂 Is there just some way I can switch out the slider a page is showing based on if the user is viewing it on a mobile device (since the video background won’t auto play on mobile)? I know in the Virtue theme there is the option to set a different slider for mobile, but the site I’m adding the Kadence Slider to now is a real estate specific theme that doesn’t give that option. Their support said to do something like the code below (not knowing what type of slider I’m using) — but I’m thinking it would cause both of the sliders to load, which would majorly slow my page down (??)….

    /*This is the mobile slider */

    #soliloquy-container-4985 {

    display: none !important;
    }

    @media
    only screen and (max-width: 600px) {

    /*This is the desktop slider */

    #soliloquy-container-4986 {

    display: none !important;
    }

    /*This is the mobile slider */

    #soliloquy-container-4985 {

    display: block !important;
    }

    }

    In the end, I have a Kadence video background slider I want to load for desktop and a Revolution Slider I want to load if mobile.

    Thank you again!!

    Hello,

    Try going to Theme Options> Mobile Home Header, and set that to ON.

    Then just set “Choose home page header settings” to NONE.
    Does that work for you?

    I saw there was an answer for this for the Virtue theme but nothing in the Ascend. I am using a Smart Slider shortcode in the Settings>Home Page Header. There is no ability to turn off for mobile that I can see. How would one go about doing this.

    Topic: Google Maps

    #205331

    Hi,
    i’m trying to figure out if there is a solution to embed a Google map with multiple markers and a list that highlights the coresponding pin.
    I figured out that it is possible to create a custom map on Google My Maps. Is it possible to embed this through Theme Map or do i have to insert it in the page and is it possible to have a list with the locations beside the map?

    The functionality should be similar to this:
    Map with location list

    Site where i should insert the map is build with Ascend Theme.

    Any idea is welcome,
    Thank you,
    B. Anders

    Hey,
    It’s based on “menu_order” in each portfolio post there is an order number under the “page attributes” and that determines the items order. (lowest first and you can have negative numbers) This gives you control over which is placed where.

    To change this you would need to create custom pages using portfolio grid page template and assigning the category then you would link to those pages instead of the default archives.

    Else you would need to use a child theme and override the taxonomy-portfolio-type.php template file and change the orderby on line 126.

    Hey,

    Are you referring to this page?:
    https://www.sandrabinney.com/gallery/

    I’m seeing all of the items load in the same order everytime I refresh. Am I looking at the right gallery?
