Hey,

You should be able to use a custom template with Virtue. But depending on your needs, it may not be necessary.

What are you trying to get out of the template? It’s possible that you could set this up in page builder and import the page builder layout to all pages you wish to add this template. This would save you from having to customize theme files and you wouldn’t have to worry about updating them if something in the theme changes in the future.

If you can give some more details as to what you are trying to achieve, then we can figure out the best way to move forward.

I just want to know exactly which plugins are being used, if any adjustments were made in css or anywhere else (like something hard coded), and what custom settings were used so I can get the same look without importing the demo content. using the Portfolio Grid template to display portfolio items, when you roll over a portfolio item you get a details button which takes you to the actual individual portfolio page: is there any way to make the main portfolio item in the grid go to an external url when clicked

Hello,
I am using Virtue theme for a while now and it is a great theme!
I would like to create a new template and add in the theme so when I create a new page I can choose the template.
I have created a child theme and I can create a template but I can not find how to add it in the list of template.

Hi,

The site is ok when using Chrome but on IE11 or Edge some pages are not loading correctly.

The issue came yesterday. It never happened before. I have reinstalled a backup version from 2 days ago but it did not help.

I use Fastest Cache plugin.

Nope. That isn’t how the web works. For a browser to be able to see your page they have to see the code. The browser can then open the dev tools to look at that code.

My site is running Virtue Premium 3.4.0 (I know it’s old – I’m taking over for someone). Ran the upgrade to 4.7.8, but once complete, any pages that have SiteOrigin PageBuilder rows set to FULL WIDTH or FULL WIDTH STRETCHED just disappear. Specifically, the row gets a style=”visibility:hidden” added inline with the div tag. If I change the row to STANDARD or FULL WIDTH STRETCHED PADDED, they are visible again.

No row class or id or cell class or CSS styles applied.
The page is set to use the full width template.

In 3.4.0, everything works fine. Rows extend full width, with cells/columns using standard width, creating alternating rows with different background colors going across the entire page and the content constrained.

Once I upgrade, all full width rows are hidden, producing a page with a header, title and footer, but no visible content. I’ve restored to backup and re-applied the upgrade several times, each with the same result. Now I’m back to the old version again.

Any ideas what would cause this?

Google cache can take time to clear but it’s odd it ignored the meta description. So if that happens again I would guess something is being added into your head tag that is breaking the tag (a lot of facebook plugins for example have this issue). If you see this again post and we can see if you have a plugin breaking the head tag of your page.

I’m using the fullwidth slider option in themes/home slider, with images sized at 1800×600.
The ends of the images are getting cut off on most screens.
Not sure why.

ok so your screen grab shows that the meta description wasn’t set and Google was pulling the content from the page. see the “ABOUT US” title. That would make sense because the slider has screen reader text for the preloader which is removed when the slider is loaded. In the end it was probably just a waiting game with Googles cache to get your added description to show in the search results.

Thanks – that works great for the menu bar but I would like to leave the header size as it was so the widgets are in line with the page and not off the page. Is that possible?

1. Can you please link to the contact form so that I can test?

2. Try going to settings> Permalinks, and resave your permalinks. Try the pages after that and let me know if they load properly.

Hey,
Those pages should have automatically been created when you installed Woocommerce. Was this not the case for you? Do you have those pages created? Can you post a link?
