Hi guys, loving the Ascend Theme so far. I’m trying to use the ‘Landing – no header’ option as a HOME page – i.e. this should be like a splash page that visitors see when going to http://www.example.com – they then click to ‘enter’ the website and see the usual menu & footer etc.

My issues is this: I can make the Splash page, BUT when I then assign it as the homepage, the header then appears! Help! Thanks!

Thanks for the response. I usually create and add the tags when creating a new gallery or post. The URL for a portfolio item will include …../portfolio-tag/… and for a post it includes …../tag/…… Where the subject is the same, this seems to prevent bringing the articles together under the one tag page ?. Is there a way around this?

Hi David,
How are you currently adding your tags? You can link to your portfolio tags from any of your menus. When creating a menu from Appearance > Menus you can open the Screen Options tab on the top right of the page and select Portfolio Tags from the list. That will make it show in the left sidebar. Is that helpful?

Hi Walter,
If you navigate to Theme Options > Theme Extensions you should see an option to enable the header and footer scripts. Then once you save and refresh the page you should see them in your theme options.

I want to add the Testimonials in my homepage. I want to show who its from however it keeps showing as ‘Home’. How do I change to show the person name who wrote it? I already added the field location and client title but its still showing as home. Please help.

Sorry if this is frequently aske d question. Is there a way of getting both Post and Portfolio tags, which I understand are treated separately, to show up on the same page? When I create the same tag name for both a post and a portfolio and create a link for the tg it only shows the post tag not the portfolio>

Hey Ben, thanks for your elaborate answer and for checking out the other sites.

I built a page with pagebuilder and hero images but it becomes slow at loading. I guess hero images are not intended to be put into a grid. So I would indeed prefer to make use of the built in portfolio feature since it’s intended to do what I need and seems to load much faster.

Your linking to the virtue premium bold theme, a child theme of virtual premium. I really like the portfolio grid of this child theme: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-bold/home-portfolio/

How can I use this in my out of the box virtue premium theme? Can I download a plugin or does it require some coding?

Hi Harry,
You can add the code directly to the testimonial form shortcode. From the visual editor, open the Virtue Shortcodes tab and you should see the Testimonial Form shortcode. Once you have added that to the page, you can add ” consent_checkbox=”true” ” to the form.

Hey,
You don’t need the css from kevin any more, that was fixed in the last update (thanks for reporting). Here is a temp fix for your product page:

.main .product_header {
    display:none;
}

There will be an update out this week that will fix this and allow you to remove that css as well.

Hey,
Have you tried deactivating plugins? (make sure you don’t have another page builder installed as that will create conflicts). You can deactivate all the plugins without causing any errors on your site.

What version of the theme are you using?

Have you contacted your hosting provider to see if they can look at your error logs?

I can test and have no issues using Beaver Builder with the theme.

Hey,
I can’t get your site to load? Perhaps your server is blocking IP addresses? When I try to get to the login page nothing loads for me.

Can you send a screenshot?

Just to be clear if you are talking about the filter option it only filters what is no the page. It’s not a menu and can’t be used as a menu it’s just for filtering whats on the page so if you have more then one page of products you should not use the filter.

For the pages in Hebrew (*Login to see link the thin vertical lines between the items of primary menu change their placement (the vertical line between the two first items on left is moving in the right extreme). Is it possible to keep that line between items?

Yes that worked! It still shows multiple breadcrumbs on the product pages. Do you have css for the product pages that would remove one of the breadcrumbs? See http://whitehousegardens.com/product/57-fortuna-floral-wall-fountain/ for example.

I need a filter in the sidebar that lets users filter by brand. I have tried all the options included in Woo commerce as well as loads of plugins but they either don’t work or don’t show what i need. I only want the filter to show the brands from products that are listed on the page, not the whole site. What i need is like what you get when you turn on the ‘Show Category Filter on Category Pages’ except i need it in the sidebar instead of at the top of the page.

Please do you know how i can achieve this as it’s driving me mad! My site is http://www.ethicalernie.co.uk
