Hey
Thanks so much man – yeah the first row I was just playing with to see what each of the widgets do. Thanks o’ve turned off the sidebar – i wouldnt have known this was on from the page.
The one issue I had about the images not showing at the top of each post is now sorted thanks a lot – it was the “Blog Post Summary” settings.
The only other issue i’m not sure how to fix is the font, font size and boldness of the blog title. On the demo page its nice and neat, on my blog the title is large, has a terrible font and isnt bold. Please help?
About the one post – yeah i’m transferring my old, boring and outdated webpage to this new site – so i’m transferring each blog and making it pretty one by one over the next few days. On my old site, some blog posts dated back to 2014 – how do i preserve the blog date when I now re-create these blog posts? I dont see a field anywhere that allows you to set the ‘post date’ anywhere?
Thanks again for your help above

March 3, 2016 at 1:11 pm #84263Hey,
So you are using polylang and pagebuilder and those plugins don’t work together. They cause 404 pages for all custom post types (like products) for translated content.WPML does work with pagebuilder (just FYI).
It’s an issue where pagebuilder is running a check that directly conflicts with polylang and causes an error. Neither plugin has decided to fix this yet.
Also polylang’s support of woocommerce is not good and you really have to work at it to make these plugins work together. You will also need this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-polylang-integration/
And finally and importantly you must translate the pages and the products for things to show.

March 3, 2016 at 12:40 pm #84247Hey,
1. The demo you linked two has the sidebar turned off. On your site it’s turned on. So you may want to turn that off it’s an option right in the page below the content area.2. You are using pagebuilder on that page and have a carousel, image widget and a recent posts widget all at the top. If you wanted to look like the demo page above then you wouldn’t need those.
Ok Just wanted to clarify those things.
In terms of your post (you have one thus far).
a. Have you made sure to set a featured image for the post?
b. In your theme options > blog options. Scroll down to the “Blog Post Defaults”
There make sure the “Blog Post Summary Default” is set to portrait image.c. In each post you can manually override that defualt setting and set your own Blog Post Summary for that post. So if you wanted for example a slider or video you would do that in the post.
Let me know if that helps.

Hi Kevin
Thanks for your response. The page is http://thehobbygroup.co.za/blog/
I’m just messing with the top row, however ideally i want the blog page to include a revolution slider (i know how to do this so thats no problem) and then below that look almost identical to your demo blog page as we have videos, images, image slider posts etc so we’ll use it all.
I tried looking all over youtube to see if there was a tutorial of some sort of how to set up the blog properly like you guys did.. no luck.
It would be really helpful if there was such a tutorial..

I have used Post Switcher to change custom post type of my old theme, to regular post and than switched to portfolio. All the images bounded to this post automatically show up as a gallery after that.
So answering your question – in “media library” images are set “bound” to post, so they appear there like that. I have no idea how to change that “Masonry”. And I have like 50 portofolios. How do I change it all together?
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: portfolio
Hello!
If you want to make your portfolio post look like the example there, then you need to follow these steps.
Firstly, the images you’re seeing on that portfolio post are added by clicking the “Add Media” button at the top of the editor.
Find the “Create Gallery” option, and add the desired images to the gallery.
After the Gallery is created, you should typed out the text for the portfolio item. Then, go through your settings under Portfolio Post Options, and make sure they are like this.
Project Layout: Three Rows
Project Options: None
Columns: Four Column
Max Slider/Image Height: 500
Auto play slider: yes
Project summary: ImageTry creating another post following this guideline and see if you can get it looking the way you want it.
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi,
Is there a widget to get a 4 columned Blog grid like this: *Login to see link
I want to add a post grid like this to the bottom section of a specific page within my site – but the widgets seem to only allow up to 2 columns.
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Virtue Premium Blog
Hi
I can’t seem to create a blog like in the virtue premium demo – *Login to see link
When i make my blog page set to the ‘blog grid’ template – my blog posts dont include the images and scrolling on the top of each blog post like the demo page does, also it doesnt put the blog title in bold, and neither is the blog title in the same font as seen on the demo page – rather its much bigger and not as neat.
How do I overcome this? Do i need a plugin? Can I assume that anything on the virtue premium demo page can be created on my site as I have bought this theme?

March 2, 2016 at 8:35 pm #84113Hey,
1. In premium there is a “virtue shortcodes” button. There you have more options and you can access it in the visual editor and in the text editor.2. If you’re using jetpack make sure you have turned off their portfolio custom post type (the two would naturally conflict and be confusing in your admin). Aside from that you can use jetpack I do on many sites with virtue.
Let me know if this is the right lingo and I can try to explain better.

Hi,
Virtue theme is good.!.. but several things are missing from the free version and theres no walkthrough to get things working as easy as before.first , where’s the Add Icon button that it used to appear within the create page-post toolbar?
second, the portfolio carousel linked images dont work if jetpack is installed, the posts-projects linked images display a 404 message “page not found”. link-permalink out dated.
Now i have done extensive research about how to fix these problems but this is not ok specially if we are paying for a supposedly better theme (which it is) but it is your job to be aware of these situations before publishing and selling a new product.
Im not a coder nor a web developer geek so please try not to use the computer nerd lingo nor ask me to perform certain tests or changes to .php files or html…
can you provide some easy solutions to both my first and second issues with this theme?
In forum: Virtue ThemeMarch 2, 2016 at 2:38 pm #84047Hey,
1. page content? I’m only seeing posts are you talking about post content?2. If your image is at least 848 in width then the theme can crop it based on the max height but your images are not large enough so they are left un-cropped. You can use css if using larger images isn’t an options.
css:
.postlist article .img-margin-center img { max-height: 300px; width: auto; }3. You would need to use the “virtue: recent post” widget if you want images.

In forum: Virtue ThemeMarch 2, 2016 at 1:50 pm #84043Hey,
That isn’t an option with the theme, (not seen it with any theme for that matter). You would have to create a child theme to add this kind of functionality in or use custom css for each page and add a pseudo element to each page title with the contnet being your image.
If you post a link to the page and the image I can give you one example of the css for this.
