FIXED – My permalinks setting was set to custom to some reason. I changed it to ‘post name’ and the portfolios are loading now.

Hi all,

I have installed Pinnacle Premium and the sample content to learn my way around (I am new to WordPress).

My problem is, I am unable to view any of the sample portfolio posts because when the page loads, I get ‘not found…sorry the page you were trying to view does not exist’.

I am trying to view any of the portfolio posts from – *Login to see link

I’m not using the page header banner for blog posts, so I need to boast SEO by changing the H2 to a H1.

I’ve also noticed that we’re getting a duplicate ‘blog’ link in the breadcrumb so it says Home / Blog / Blog / ‘post’. Is this something that I’ve done wrong when setting it up?

I did try the boxed setting in the main settings & put the picture in & I didn’t like it after all. Maybe my problem is the slider. The second post showed the longer slider. Mine doesn’t go to the edges like in the post by Ben. Do you know the name of that slider by chance? Thanks!

Thanks for the replies. I am wanting a site-wide image of a forest I have uploaded to be on the sides – yes like the 2nd post, but not so close to the edge. As it is now – I have the slider & lots of white space around the content. I like having a site-wide theme – the forest picture. I also love the scrolling feature. I may just leave it at that if I like it and keep it simple. Hopefully that makes sense.

Just for clarification can you post a link to this? Are you wanting this on your blog list page? Because that would be really bad for SEO. you don’t ever want more then one h1 tag on a page.

Hey,
So that is an icon. It shows using the recent posts widget.

If you would like to show an image use the “virtue: recent posts widget” instead then you will get the featured image of your post.

If you really just want to use the default recent posts and only want a list with no icon you can remove the icon with css by adding this into the theme options > advanced settings > custom css box.

.widget_recent_entries .widget-inner li a:before {
    display: none;
}

I have the same issue where instead of an image on the sidebar under recent posts, it’s the grey pencil icon. I have the featured image set for each post but they still will not appear in my sidebar. It’s the sidebar on our blog here http://pcpprinting.com/printing-blog/

Hey,
1. There isn’t an option for that in the theme. If your just wanting a menu with the categories then I would suggest adding a menu to the top of the page. Else if your wanting to have a query system with the title of the next and previous post you would have to override the theme template and create that custom functionality.

2. You can transfer all your settings from free to premium. You don’t need to start over. See here: https://www.kadencewp.com/installing-virtue-premium/

Hey,
sorry I thought you were saying you have a 4 column layout on desktop. You only have a two column so your not using the grid and the css would be different.

It does confuse me through so lets make sure we are both talking about the same thing.

You have your latest posts showing. There is 6 all together and they are in 3 rows with two columns in each row on desktop. Making those 2 columns on mobile would be really really tight?

It possible you meat products when you said posts. If that is the case there is no option to make a product carousel two columns on mobile, you would have to use a child theme and change the output html.

I’m seeing this css in your custom css box:

Which is breaking because your not closing out the first line.

IN terms of the lightbox.. this isn’t really going to work like you want even if this loads “correctly” But try this so you can see what I mean:

I simply would like to retain my white pages throughout my site, so my content shows through, but add the same background throughout to jazz it up a little. Right now I have my home page set up as latest posts. When I add the background – it overrides all my pages, so nothing can be seen.

I built the home page from home layout. Is there a way to fix the background as is or should I have built my home page as a static page? Either way though, I need some support.
