Thank you so much for the Oct post. I was about to throw the computer out since I couldn’t get it to upload. THANK YOU!!

Hmm, oddly I don’t see a submit button in that forum? I looked through that form in html and didn’t see a submit. Can you confirm it’s there if you just post in a page?

    Hey James,
They should already be responsive. Is this not the case? Can you post a link?

    Hey Joseph,
Do you mind posting a link to your site?

    Hey Stephen,
I haven’t worked with Ninja forms, but this may be able to be fixed with some css. Do you mind posting a link?

I am having a bit of a problem. For some reason, when I try to add a link to my blog posts the add/edit link button does nothing. I know there is supposed to be a pop up window, but there is nothing. No change, nothing.

Also, when I try to add an image, the button brings the pop up window, but nothing is added from it.

Any suggestions? I really need the ability to add links and images to blog posts.

    Hello Ben,

I would like to make the first page basically like a splash page. Without a nav-bar, foot or logos.
I was thinking of using Slider Revolution to aid me with it. “If you have a better process I am all ears.”

    My struggles:
In “Theme Options> Home Layout> Home Layout Manager, and only activate Page Content” my Page content has some in it. It is still showing some
post, portfolio or some random stuff you can see here.. http://www.dortegaphotography.com
In addition, all the other pages I do want a nav-bar and logos and such.

But Kevin’s suggestion is getting very close. need a couple things to iron out.

    Hello Josh,

Definitely will let you know. There must be some setting in a place I am not sure of yet just because I am playing with it.
As far as Slider Rev. and such I’ve spent time making pages and sliders, so we are good there!!

Thank you guys for all the quick and very informative information.

Because you are only wanting on one language I would suggest adding through the page itself and not on the others rather then in the theme options where it would apply to all.

You can use the “virtue shortcodes” to add the posts to just the one page.

    Hey,
With that type of post format they are designed to be squares. Changing it would require editing template files. But you can always use a different post format like the blog grid.

If you would like more info on editing the templates I can point you in the right direction there too.

I think you are thinking the “menu” is what you see when you look in the portfolio posts page of your admin.. Those are ordered by date not “menu” If you’re wanting that order then you can order by date and you’ll have it.

    Hey,
This isn’t really an option. To automate this you would have to use a child theme. Are you interested in codeing?

Else what you can do is add your image into the “shortcode” option for the post header and set the post header to output the shortcode. The image tag would look like this:

    <img src="urltoyourimage.jpg">

If you want one page to have portfolio posts from say portfolio-type “photos”

You can create a page select the portfolio grid page and save the page.

Then you will see options to set what portfolio-type you want to be displayed on that page. In this example you could choose photos. You don’t need to use a shortcode if that’s all you’re wanting to accomplish.

On the homepage at the bottom, the images for blog posts are cropped to a square.

How can you leave post-excerpt-image for blogposts in original landscape format?

I have tried in Blog options.

    Hi Hannah,
So to understand you correctly, I need to use a shortcode to specify what portfolio grid page (category) that I want individual portfolio pages to be posted on…yes? How do I develop these shortcodes for each page? Thanks!

    Hi,
I would like to make my blog post featured images go across the whole screen (full width) and make my sidebar move down and inline with the post title and content. Perhaps there has already been a solution around here but do I need to adjust the CSS or is there an option under theme option-blog options?

    Thank you

Thanks Hannah, I had it on customs before and just clicked on: “Post name http://bensonshum.com/sample-post/&#8221; instead, and it works! I’m not sure what the difference is, but it seems to work. Thank you!

    Hi there,

Sorry I can’t find this by searching the forums.

If I use this: [blog_posts orderby=rand cat=client] it only shows 4 posts in 2 columns.

    If I use this: [blog_posts orderby=rand items=all cat=client] it only shows 1 post.

If I use this: [blog_posts orderby=rand items=20 cat=client] it shows 19 posts. That’s how many I have in that category now but I would like to know the items=??? – what to put for ??? so I always get all of them. I guess I could put 100 and hope some day I have over 100 clients!

    thanks,

Hi there, I’m trying to post on my blog, and trying to follow the examples from the default, but I’m getting an error.

    here’s the site:
when I click on any post, it says:

Sorry, but the page you were trying to view does not exist.

It looks like this was the result of either:

    a mistyped address
    an out-of-date link

any ideas? Also, what does /Post%20Name mean?
    Thank you!
    Benson

In your settings > reading. There you can set the posts per page.

    Ben

    #92858

Ok, in your settings > reading. Make sure you leave the select box for the “post page” blank.

then go to your page titled blog and make sure to use the blog grid page template.
