I am attempting to make an additional fullwidth template page with some special customization in my child theme. However, there seems to be some logic going on in the /lib/sidebar.php (or maybe somewhere else) that is saying add default sidebar if page is not the fullwith template.
Can you tell me how to add my new page to this logic?

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeTopic: Child theme footer missing
Hello,
I created a child theme to safe keep modified plug in templates. In the child theme folder there is a style.css file, and a function.php, in addition to a folder containing modified plugin templates.
When previewing the child theme, the footer of the page is missing the menu. Going live has the same result. The style.css file has the following content:
/*
Theme Name: pinnacle premium child
Theme URI: *Login to see link
Description: pinnacle premium child theme
Author: Gregorio
Author URI: *Login to see link
Template: pinnacle_premium
Version: 1.0.0
License: GNU General Public License v2 or later
License URI: *Login to see link
Tags: light, dark, two-columns, right-sidebar, responsive-layout, accessibility-ready
Text Domain: pinnacle_premium_child
*/The functions.php file has the following content:
<?php
add_filter( ‘woocommerce_return_to_shop_redirect’, ‘return_to_shop_link’ );function return_to_shop_link() {
return ‘*Login to see link
}I’m currently fully updated with WP (4.4.1) , theme (1.5.7), and pluggins.
Is the child theme not set up correctly?
Thank you
In forum: Virtue ThemeHey Ben,
I’m finding that when I use the Feature – Sidebar template for a wordpress page, and configure using the Carousel Slider; on mobile devices you can double tap the slider image and it will zoom in, and stay that way until the page is refreshed.
If the Home Slider is set for Carousel it works as expected.
As I write this I’m wondering if the max image height/width need to be set? The images are 400×1140 I believe this is default. They display fine until double tapped.
What to do? Don’t tap the images… 🙂
See for yourself – *Login to see linkThanks!
JoshIn forum: Virtue ThemeI am searching now for my comments but at first glance it threw the few widgets from the various sidebars into the “inactive” area but they work when moved back to their respective locations. After going through comments if I cannot solve I’ll reach out. I’m learning so I’ll always take a crack at it – thank you for the above direction. In the meantime I deleted the lib folder, reinstalled, and reactivated. All is fine again.
Thanks Ben –
Heidi
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi, I’m not sure when and why it happened – but my BG is not longer fitting big screens, has a white “sidebar” on the right on big screens, and on mobile (iPhone) I’m getting weird pure white overlay across half of my page.. I didn’t touch any of BG properties on purpose, but apparently something triggered the change. Could you please take a look? forestharp.com

January 4, 2016 at 12:18 pm #73945Hey,
In your settings > reading. Make sure you have not set any page to be a “post page”.Then in the page you have marked as the blog page and given the blog page template turn off the sidebar.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Add posts list using shortcode
January 2, 2016 at 10:10 am #73748Hey,
so the main difference is you have a sidebar on your news page. Thats squishing the posts and part of your issue. You can add this css to help but your still going to be squished if you keep the sidebar:
#kad-blog-grid .blog_item .postcontent h4.entry-title { line-height: 20px; font-size: 20px; } @media (min-width: 992px){ #kad-blog-grid .blog_item .tcol-md-6.tcol-sm-12 { padding-right: 0; } } #kad-blog-grid .blog_item { min-height: 300px; }I suggest if you want to sidebar to use a single column layout.

Hi Hannah,
One option would be to use either the primary or secondary menu from Appearance > Menus and then just hide it from all other pages using css. From appearance > Menus you should see Portfolio Types in the left sidebar. If you don’t see this you may need to select it from the Screen Options tab on the top right of the page. Does that work for you? If so, I can help with the css to hide it from all but the homepage.Hannah
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Pinnacle Gallery widget not working?
December 30, 2015 at 4:12 pm #73472I’m just using chrome on a mac, I tried with firefox and safari both worked fine. That isn’t the issue. no one else is having an issue with this either so I can’t see that as being browser related. It would only be if you were using some obscure, really out of date browser.
I can’t guess what the issue is. Maybe a firewall but that doesn’t seem likely either. When your on a page you can click “add media” using that popup window you can click “create gallery” in the left sidebar. That would create the same gallery as the pinnacle widget. So thats a workaround.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeHi Ben,

Thank you very much for shortcodes, and a solution for products of the month, great!I just can’t place it on the/or create it as a homepage:
On the original home page I did not succeed to paste in the shortcodes.
When I do it on a new page it works – http://solarieshop.se/hem-new/
But when I tried to make the new page to the homepage, it didnt work again.

Great, I should have seen that.3
Blog – sidebar on right side.
Yes, now it works on the blog startpage http://solarieshop.se/solarienyheter/ but not on the single blog posts. How do I do that?Best regards
FredrikIn forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Blog Post Font Issue
December 30, 2015 at 10:28 am #73403I wanted to change the Body Font from the current setting of Lato to Bookman Old Style, serif. I updated it under the Typography tab in Theme Options. The sidebar font was updated properly but the blog posts are not. When I refresh the page I see the correct font for just a moment then it switches back to default. How do I fix this issue?
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeHi,
1.
How can we do this the easiest way with Pinnacle:– Enable featured products, sales products, best selling products?
– But turning off their carousels?
– And display woocommerce product archive galleries on the homepage (solarieshop . se) like this?:
Featured products – 4 rows x 4 columns.
Sales products – 2 rows x 4 columns.
Best selling products – 2 rows x 6 columns.
(Products of the month – 2 rows x 4 columns. Not standard though..)
+
“Other looked at” – 1 row x 4 columns – here a carousel function would fit in nice for us 🙂2.
Is there a theme-way to control the space between the sections above? Between e g Featured products, Sales products and best selling products.3.
I pasted in the css code from your tutorial – to have a left sidebar. But for the blog (SolarieNyheter) we would like to have a right sidebar. How do we do that?Best regards

December 29, 2015 at 10:14 am #73262If your using a child theme then I would suggest using a little function like this:
add_filter('kadence_display_sidebar', 'search_sidebar'); function search_sidebar($sidebar) { if (is_search()) { return false; } return $sidebar; }Else you can use css like this in your theme options > advanced settings.
body.search-results #ktmain {width:100%;} body.search-results #ktsidebar {display:none;}Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Contact page doesn't follow main layout
December 28, 2015 at 9:59 am #73134Hey,
The “default” template is the same as the sidebar template. Normally when you leave a template on default it uses that sidebar template but when the page is named “contact” wordpress triggers that the default template should be the contact template. All you need to do is select the “sidebar” template instead of default. Once you define it then you won’t be seeing the contact template.
In the end since you are not using a sidebar I just recommend you set the pages to use the “fullwidth” template.

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi Ben,
I’m using the flexslider header on portfolio pages and clicking on any image in the slider opens the image in the lightbox.
I want to do the same with other feature pages that are not in the portfolio. I’ve set up a feature with sidebar page and set the header to use the flex slider but clicking on any of the images just selects the image in the slider (highlights it), it doesn’t open the light box. I have the image lightbox option on, but is that only for a single feature image? Does it also work for the flex slider?
Thanks,
-MikeSPS. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
In forum: Virtue ThemeI use add banner in my sidebar. For this, I use an empty text widget where I put in the code for the banner. For example:
<script async=”async” type=”text/javascript” src=”//tracking.blogfoster.com/js/bfs.min.js” class=”bf-adslot” websiteId=”2238″ adslotId=”8009″></script>This worked out perfectly on my imac. On my smartphone it also worked, but sometimes only the first banner was shown. (Whats wrong here?)
Now I looked at my page with a normal Computer (Windows). The sidebar is empty. No banners. Why? -
